Weather app with "Amount of precipitation" - General Topics

Hi,
In my country (Québec,Canada), the weather is really changing. We go from -35°C to 35°C, from snow to rain. All weather apps I tested show the status (rain, snow, sun, cloud), temp. in ° (min and max) and sometimes the % of precipitation, but I don't find any with the amount of precipitation (current and in forcast).
Do you know any application that do that ?
I found feather weather here but it is only for smartphone. I'm looking for a WM 6 pro application.
Thank you all for your contribution in this awesome community.
mik
Ps: sorry for my English, it's not my primary langague.

well... I bet there is no such application heheheheh

You may try Weather Watcher Mobile 1.09 (freeware)
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Weather/Weather-Watcher-Mobile-20345.shtml

TomTom 7 has a weather function which shows the amount of precipitation in mm.

Weather forecast widget

Does anyone know where I can find a widget that is basically identical to the Weather Forecast one in the ManUP456's REVOlution theme, but gets its data from somewhere more reliable.
I love the way that it looks. It fits my home screen perfectly.
The problem is with the data itself. For instance, the app says that yr.no says that the temperature is going to be 80° here tomorrow, but the Weather Channel forecasts a temperature of 96° (definitely more like it).
I'm not sure if it's a problem with incorrect data, an inaccurate conversion from Celsius to Fahrenheit, or what.
There really isn't much point in a weather forecast if it's horribly inaccurate, though.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks, guys.

Sure its exactly the name of your thread title. Search the market for "Weather Forecast Widget" its much much more reliable and looks good as well.
That is the widget in Manup's theme. I also use it but find the data to be less than accurate.
I downloaded the "Weather Forecast Widget" by Francois DESLANDES from the market.
I like it so far. It doesn't have the 7 day forecast like yr.no's, but the four day forecast shows up instead.
Here is my quick review:
Widget sizes include the following:
1x1
2x1 full day
2x1
2x2
4x1
4x2 *
4x3 *
4x4 *
* includes forecast and calendar
The weather can be aggregated from Google or NOAA (much more accurate than yr.no).
With the paid version, you can choose from 17 different icon sets and 27 backgrounds.
I tend to prefer the HTC icon set (someone derived the HTC weather icons from the weather app so they could be used here).
The widget sizes that includes the calendar has current conditions or today's forecast (your choice) at the top and the forecast for the next two days below it with each day's events listed below its respective day. (A tap will take you to the calendar app of your choosing)
This is a great widget set for my purposes. It is incredibly customizable.
If you're looking around for a good weather widget, try the free app. If you're like me and need more visual customization, go for the paid app key.

Thanks, guys.
Agreed. Great looking widget, but completely inaccurate data. When I finally got it to acknowledge that I'm in Tampa and not Jacksonville, temps were still way off.

That is odd. In my case, the location is spot on and the temperatures mirror the NOAA website perfectly.
In lieu of funcrusher's experience, results may vary.
I'd still recommend it though.
My bad, I was referring to the one in manup's theme.
Trying Weather Forecast Widget now.

Haha. I probably should have figured that out. Oh well, a full day of classes has me a little slow at this point.
its nice. too bad you cant skin the free version. some Buff icons would be nice.
Without a doubt the best is Snowstorm. For some reason it's very hard to find in the market as it doesn't appear under "weather widgets" search, but it works fantastically. Also the first reply for "Weather Forecast Widget" is decent advice. It's great as well.

Snowstorm seems useful, but I tend to like how weather widgets displays both the high and low for each day. I haven't spent much time with it, so I'm not exactly sure if there is a way to do what I'm talking about.
I do like the forecast screen on snowstorm much more than weather widgets, but there are trade offs.

[UPDATE 26.04.2011] CHT widget B&L_Group Weather Widget v.5 Final

CHT widget B&L_Group Weather Widget v.5 Final
Description: A new weather widget. The first version is only shows the weather for 5 days. Supports 2 languages English and Russian. Weather server, as in classical Weather tab-Acuweather (and others will not). Was taken as the basis for the widget script TitaniumWeather Titanium, with a complete reworking and optimization for Manila. When you change the city in the clock settings, automatically will be changed to the nearest minute weather data for the relevant city already, and you can also manually update by clicking on the widget itself and wait 3 to 15 seconds (depends on the speed channel and the response time of the server). To save all the traffic updates are possible only if there is a ready connection and connect to the Internet, cable, Wi-Fi, GPRS. Ie if you want to update the weather, you first need to install handles any of the options for Internet connection, and only then update the weather. This is done to prevent spontaneous eating traffic.
There is an opportunity to consolidate.
Attention! The widget only works with a specified cities, with a location it did not work. All matters related to this, I'll ignore it.
In the 2 version adds:
1. Conclusion obschy information
2. Wind speed and direction
3. Probability of Precipitation
4. Sunrise and sunset
5. 4 different maps widget
- Full and abbreviated with the temperature in Celsius
- Full and abbreviated with the temperature in Fahrenheit
In the version 3 is added:
1. Extended forecast up to 9 days
2. Phases of the Moon (varies depending on the chosen day, together with additional information)
3. 8 different maps widget
- 9 days with temperatures in Celsius
- 9 days with temperatures in Fahrenheit
- 5 days with temperatures in Celsius
- 5 days with temperatures in Fahrenheit
- 9 days with temperatures in ° C More
- 9 days with temperatures in Fahrenheit More
- 5 days with temperatures in ° C More
- 5 days with temperatures in Fahrenheit More
In the version 4 is added:
1. Fixed display of weather icons
2. Added program to install the update time widget from 1 minute to 1440 minutes (1 day)
In the version 4.1 is added:
1. Fixed updating a given time
2. Fixed manual update
In the version 4.2 is added:
1. Eating disabled Internet traffic
In the version 5 Final is added:
1. Completely changed the algorithm updates the time
2. Added a configuration file to change the color of the text widget
Short press on the weather icon opens the detailed information on the selected day (automatically switches to the information today after 5 seconds.) Long press of the weather updates when connected to the Internet.
Author: B & L_Group (MoonNah)
Skins for the Weather widget:
1. ShowacoSkin (After installation restart Manila or SoftReset)
2. dunc001 Light Grey Weather Widget Icons
I've been waiting for something like this 8D
Thanks ^-^

Some cities and locations are not picked up by the server being used.
Try setting a city close to you, in the clock settings.
Tap home clock and set a city.
Then refresh the widget.
More city detections, which would require another server and the option to display F or C would be awesome too.
But very nice job.
1* so cool xD
Waiting 4 next release xDDD
Genius again Moonah! Look forward to some nice skins for this one!

Similarly, I forgot to write that the city must be added manually to the location of the weather is not selected. The choice of temperature in Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C) will be added in next version, though the script now and it may, but not used yet. So do not rush me, and quietly waiting for.

Yes, I saw it in there.
Looking forward to it and nobody is rushing anyone.
In your time MoonNah.
I was hoping for a similar widget, without the use of mortscript, but so far this one seems not to be such a battery eater, due to the update method you have implemented.
So cheers for that.
I think I know what being rushed and bugged for an ETA is like and I am not here for that.

Wow, nice one! This is really great but one question. How do I get rid of the "frigid" and other word "icons" for weather? Just want the animations used from sense. Anyone?
Light grey weather icon set
Been waiting for someone to produce a weather widget so here is my little thank you:
Install the widget cab from the first post, then soft reset, install this cab and reset again. Any problems let me know. Enjoy
DEAR GOD, I cant keep my screen the same for one Bloody Hours Thanks to BLOODY GENIUS LIKE YOU
WHAT AN AMAZING WIDGET
Hello
Great Widget
Is the String
"wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/forecastfox/weather_data.asp?location="&location&"&metric="&metric)"
in TitaniumWeatherEng.mscr correct?

I really wish that HTC had a 4x2 or 4x3 weather widget

Wouldn't it be nice if HTC had a weather widget that was 4x2 or 4x3? I hate that they have 3 sizes, one thats huge and dislays all of the information, and a 2x2 and 2x1 that both only display current temp, high/low, and a picture, I mean the 2x2 should AT LEAST display a little bit more information than the 2x1 right?! Anyway anybody know of a modded HTC weather widget like this? hehe
just download Beautiful Weather and Palmary or Snowstorm... There are quite a few great weather apps out there.
I love Snowstorm, but the GPS is sketchy and not always that accurate, and doesn't beautiful widgets have a clock on all of theirs too?
Beautiful widgets has several different styles of widgets. The one I use is 4x1 and displays a 5 day forecast with high/low temps.
Its pretty nice. Lots of different skins.
Heres a screen shot

Oh, nice. What weather source does beautiful widgets use? Does it seem to be reliable and accurate?
You can use google or some other one, which I cant remember. Seems to be pretty accurate. Sometimes, it shows me in the next city, but the borders are pretty close.
You can choose between Google and Accuweather.
It's always seemed pretty accurate for me and it's easy to skin yourself or grab quite a few skins from within the app.
Well worth the couple bucks.
