Hi guyz,
Googled it with no real solution.
Is there any way to disable waking my TP on notifications like low battery, etc. Message notification is easy to disable, Answerkeys Disabler works like charm when it comes to incoming calls but I want to disable waking up the device on any notification and have only audible alerts.
Often when in pocket or case my TP wakes on notifications like low battery and starts random dialing, texting, etc. which is getting annoing.
Thanks in advance,
dEM
ummm, through sounds and notification settings?
Ummm, nope. Disabled Enable sounds for Notifications (alarms, reminders) and set Reminders only on Vibrate (unchecked Display message on screen).
Anyone..?
You could try this one for disabling wake up for sms.
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\ DisableSMSWakeUpEvent, set to 1
I've turned it on last night, but haven't received an sms yet so dont know exactly what it does, but I was looking for it for the same reason as you.
Thanks, I've already disabled that. Still can't figure out how to disable the rest of the notifications.
ooh, btw, I've also S2U2 installed, so everytime I receive an sms or notification, I've to unlock the phone first, works like a charm.

Hello, I have a SNS since four days and I notice a bug (I believe): when phone is in Silence mode it not vibrate on notifications. No on sms, no on gmail, no on every notification types.
I tried to set "vibrate always" in every application, but the issue remains.
Can you hel me to resolve my issue?
Thanks in advance.
Meph
Hey, try with this...
messaging>menu>settings
all the way down at the bottom check vibrate
I have exactly the same problem. Every setting (main, in apps) is set to "vibrate always" but the phone never vibrates in notifications when the sound is on.
I have been hoping it is a bug in 2.3, but there don't seem to be many threads here about it. On the other hand, how could it possibly be a hardware problem?
it vibrates when i get SMS
and all other alerts when my phone is in Sound ON or Vibrate Only
It doesn't vibrate for me with Google chat, Gmail, pretty much anything other notification wise, than SMS, and my storm8 notification systems doesn't vibrate.

It's really annoying when I'm talking on the phone and... VVVVvvvvvt...VVVvvvvt...VVVvvvvvt... the phone starts vibrating because of an incoming text, email or some random alert. Not only is it startling to the side of my face but the person on the other end is like, "WTF was that?"
It there a way to disable vibration notification when the phone is active?
It would be nice, but I don't think there is. I usually tell people I am walking by cows...
You can try a alternative messaging app like handcent SMS. It has the feature to turn off vibration during calls.

I probably should've clairfied that I'm using GoSMS which I really like. I've used Handcent, Chomp, etc and have settled on GoSMS.
Besides, the vibration alerts come through for any incoming notification; Gmail, Ebay app, txt, etc.
Changing text apps to resolve the vibration issue would only be part of the solution.
This is a really annoying feature.
Thanks anyway.
EDIT~
I just discovered a way to disable text msg vibration during phone use. GoSMS has a setting under: Settings> Advanced> Notification Settings> Default notification settings> (waay down at the bottom) Notification on calls> toggle "vibrate on calls" on/off.
Now if only there was a global setting to disable this...
for incoming calls go to Settings / Call Settings / Turn Off Vibration during calls.
in CM 7 you have an global Option to disable Vibration during Calls.
hmm, if i have several notifications, gmail, stuff like that. from the lock screen, if i clear them all(button at the end of the list) i hear my notification tone after they clear.
ideas or anyone else ??
Has anyone found a solution for this problem.?
Here is a better description of the problem.
When I clear notifications that it makes the sound for the notification that is being cleared. For example, if I get 5 Gmails and I clear the notification for them it will trigger my incoming Gmail notification 5 times.
Anyone figured this out?
I have the same issue!!! Is it a setting somewhere? I also have the S3 Watch and it makes the notifications on it too...
I have this problem too. I *might* be related to having a setting in GMail that I have turned on to notify for every message. But if this is turned off, I don't get new notifications for emails if I have an outstanding notification already, which sucks for getting notifications on my watch.
Same here, its pretty annoying.
Is it possible to disable the vibrate notification when receiving e-mails (using the stock e-mail app)? I want the visual icon to show up in the notification bar with no sound, just NOT vibrate. I want to keep the vibrate notifications for MMS, calls, etc..just not e-mails. This seems like a simple request but I can't seem to figure it out.
If its anything like the Gmail app then open up settings, inside settings, click on your Address [email protected], Then its inside there...
( I don't use the email app, sorry.. just a thought )
Settings --> General --> Notifications --> Select corresponding account --> UNcheck "Vibration" (unchecked by default for me)

Thanks for your response. The "vibration" option is grey so I can't change it. It is off by default anyways, but it still vibrates.
This is driving me crazy. Any recommendations for a different email app?
Open email. Touch 3 dots in upper right hand corner. Touch settings. Open notifications. Select email account . Turn off vibration.

If you're like me and always keep your phone on vibrate, this is actually a far more annoying issue than you would imagine. (The same fix can be used for Google Hangouts.)
If vibrate is not currently enabled under notifications and your phone keeps vibrating at you, it's actually because of your notification sound. If you change the notification sound to "Silent", your phone will no longer vibrate.

Yes, I always keep my phone on vibrate. If I switch it to silent, wouldn't that disable the vibrate from sms and calls?
No, those will still vibrate. You don't want to switch the ring tone settings, just the notification sound for your email. Go into settings, notifications, and then for the notification sound select "Silent".
I can't figure this one out. I have a H830 running 20i non rooted.
Sometimes incoming text messages don't trigger the vibration. The screen comes on and shows the pop up message. It just doesn't trigger the vibration. I have no problem receiving messages. They just don't always give the vibration alert.
It's intermittent with no pattern. Sometimes it'll work while the phone is in a deep Doz sleep. Sometimes it won't. Sometimes it'll work when the phone is active with the screen on and sometimes it won't.
I have the problem on the stock messenger, Chomp SMS and Next SMS. (Not running them simultaneously.. Stock SMS is disabled. Only one 3rd Party SMS installed at a time. Same thing happens on stock with no 3rd party SMS apps). The settings in the apps are properly set to send a vibration alert. It just don't work every time.
Occasionally it'll even give me a super short single vibration, almost like a keypress vibration. That's instead of the 3 long vibrations pattern I have set.
I don't believe it's a hardware issue. The vibration motor works 100% of the time if I purposely trigger it by turning out 'vibrate on keypress' or turn the system volume to vibrate or run any vibration test. So the motor is fine. The controller is fine. It's just SMS's that don't seem to send the alert to the system to trigger the vibration motor.
I cannot figure this out. I've made the SMS apps persistent and allowed them to be ignored in the battery optimizations in case the app wasn't waking in time.
Any ideas?
