well, the man's got a life, maybe he's travelling or busy. anyway i just want to thank him for everything he did, i really appreciate it as i'm sure we all do.

BTW he returned and he asked for time to catch up and promised a new AKU3.3 or WM6 Rom and made a poll for us to decide on which should he work on, and then... He disappeared again... Well he surely has got something to do!

New Rom WORSE than previous one

I have no words..
Every new ROM there are MORE bugs than the previous one!!!
So i wonder: If NOBODY CAN cook a REAL WORKIN' ROM.. WHY DON'T WE COME BACK TO WM5???

Bugs in wifi, bugs in mms, bugs on phone, bugs on Active Sync, bugs on SD I/O...
Videocall.. Videocal.. NO COMMENT on videocall..
A zealous user could replay me "Shut up and downgrade to WM5"..
Problem is that NOBODY, i repeat NOBODY is working on a "remake" of WM5..
We need, for example, a new WLM version, smart dial.. and so on!
I remember that in the past there were users horrified if an abstracted cooker forgot to put the videocall cab and nowadays we flash ROM that smash our data on SD...
I'm not polemic.. I want to open constructive dialog..
So the question is: Is indispensable to work ONLY on WM6?

I'm sure the makers like Lt.Cmdr.Ivan and Midget_1990 are working as I type and you read to rectify those problems and to implement Videocall...
Why not help them, and try cooking your own ROM? Maybe you could come up with a few fixes of your own while you're at it...
(Not that I can help much though...I'm having trouble figuring out what does what in a ROM image, let alone try implementing new functionality... )

Who knows? Maybe changing randomly the hex value of an nbf i could solve some problem!

Or you could use HTC64 Extended ROM Tool to decode the ROM, then edit the resulting image directly with, say, WinImage... Just a thought, though.
After you open up the image, you can swap CABs, and maybe extract them, and edit them directly. That way, you might get some results, who knows.

The first good news I heard for months. THANKS.
These past few months I just read the forums and just browse through the WM6 section. Just like DJ, I got sick and tired of trying out WM6 ROMs with no good results, even the one's I tried cooking with the ROM cooker.
I also agree with DJ's point, with WM5, we know we have a good working ROM, we just have to make it better, rather than creating a WM6 ROM from scratch and end up with a more messed up ROM filled with unfixable bugs.
I've been using the T-Mobile NL ROM (WM5) for months now.

I think you have choosen a wrong thread in the wrong forum!
This is the forum of imperfect rom where everybody is trying to make it perfect...as much as it could be....
I said it "imperfect" because if someone is looking for a stable rom then vendor (i.e O2, T-Mobile etc.) provided rom is the best suit for him, not it? OK, think, O2 released the WM6 for Uni then why we (including you) are here? We are here, because no vendors are interested to release it for our Uni.
You have the rom and rom kitchen as well, meaning that the whole bunch of .dll's, .exe's and all other related files with you. Why no helping this community for a perfection, build a bug-free beautiful rom for our Uni where everything should work as expected and as it should be?

Rom Cooking

Hello to All,
I am starting this thread in belief that ALL you genius minds will give me the support, courage and HELP in putting me to the direction of making a customised ROM. At present, I have read a lots of WIKIs and Guides on "Rom Cooking". Even got kaiserkitchen AND Core Pro downloaded and installed. Could you please help me out in some basics here as to this kaiserkitchen and/or core pro are the right tools and softwares to start and what else do I need (In Details) as step by step. In Rom Cooking Instructions, I am unable to locate the nk.nbf file let alone extracting a ROM. As I mentioned in one of my posts earlier today that I am on holidays and would like to take this opportunity to contribute towards development of a Rom which would please most of us. I can promise that even though I am a slow learner but very devoted and very optimistic about this and got a whole week for me to start it off.
All the help is grately appreciated. I maybe a newbie but wasn't everybody else once. Hope to hear from YOU so we can get started.

By the way, I have Kaiser130 and currently running HTC Official 6.1 which to be honest, does not please me much. I liked Dutty's WM6.1 Build 209 better.

I wonder can any body cook a ROM with manila 3D interface for kaiser

I think its time for redbandana to step into the kitchen as well. Although, my roms will probably be awful.

I`m trying to mix up some juice myself, but its comprehensive for me.. I really need to put up a day to day schedule as I find myself derailed all the time. While fixing one thing I read up on a new cool thing whit aditional 3 new problems to solve and thats how my tracks been spinning for the last 4 weeks.
No rom, but daaaam many cool .cab`s laying around

I think my focus will be on some of the older builds with an up to date twists. I am transferring all my files to an xp machine as we speak. Vista just confronts too many issues.

I can't wait. Somebody will have something similar, if not the exact same thing in a matter of days.
Just for curiousity's sake... how hard would it be to extract the package from his rom to put into a kaiser rom? Sounds like something I would be willing to do to my tilt if nobody can find a better way.

I'll DL it and see if I can poke it with a big stick in a little bit. Trying to repair an ipod right now.

What about just rebuilding the nbh with his os.nb? Catastrophic fail, or epic win?

Unlocker for the Maple

All,
Ok so as some of u may already know we were currently trying to get user "JockyW" to create an unlocker for the device..BUT due to his busy schedule it seems as if he has given up on the project. I mean i could be completely wrong, but im assuming thats what the issue is since there is no communcation.
So with that being said and with the suggestion of another user, i then took it upon myself to reach out to user "Cmonex" and see what he can offer us. Well after speaking with him and running some tests, he will be taking on the job, which to me is very awesome, especially since we all know that he is part of the very busy "EliteTeam" in the Diamond/TouchPro forums. I also asked for an ETA on the project and he said 1-2 weeks MAX!
NOW with all that being said all that i ask is that we send this guy a few bucks. I know i asked the same for JockyW but here i am confident and sure that we will have something shortly.
Remember its a donation so it can be as little or as much as you want it to be. ( and let me tell u this is no easy task..he was directing me the whole way and man what a process!! )
Thats all i got for now..i will keep everyone posted as we go along.

Hey jocky, thanks for checking in. I'm sure socal didn't mean anything negative. The snap/maple community isn't large, but I'm sure many of us are anxious to begin hacking our phones. Since I have no idea how to do this stuff, I'm just being patient. Just know that any work you are doing is appreciated and eagerly awaited.

jockyW and I are still working hard on this. The distance and time is an issue but we work around it. Nights for me, days for him, etc. We did more testing this morning (PST) and will continue some tonight (PST) after JockyW gets some sleep. We all need sleep.
We are closer than most think. I will keep you guys abreast of our progress. Custom cooks are right around the corner.

Status update: the SSPL and HardSPL which I sent to oOkBa for testing today seem to work fine. He will test it a bit more t'morrow and then I will publish it.

I asked ookba, but the unlocker and 6.5 roms are intertangabe on all Maples, or will there need to be different ones for different models? (ie an unlocker/ROM for the Dash3G, Ozone, and Snap [and different models of Snap {S521, S511, etc}])...?

I could be wrong but I'm guessing that since the Maples all have GSM and CDMA radios that they should be able to use the same program. It's not like there is completely different models like the touch pro 2.

Ok yea, so after 6-7 tough hours last night and 5000 miles of seperation, we got somewhere. Gotta love technology. Jockyw2001 is a machine and WOW does he know his stuff! I will be testing it today and if my results are accceptable, Jockyw2001 will release JumpSPL and HardSPL tomorrow! So far so good!
