Leaving GPRS on when connecting via activesync - General Topics

Hey guys,
I'm trying to find out if there is a way to leave on the gprs of a phone while it is in the cradle connected to a pc via activesync.
I know about the LSPvalue hack but that only allows your phone to connect to the internet via your laptop.
I want it to connect to the laptop via it's own means.
Anyone any ideas? maybe a hack someone has?
Thanks for the help

connecting internet via bluetooth

Hi community!
I have an USB Bluetooth on my desk computer which has a permanent internet connection. I want to connect to internet with my XdaII and i want to use the computer's internet connection.(and also use bluetooth to sync my pda.) I tried the "connect via bluetooth" option in Activesync program on my pda but nothing happens although bluetooth is on and my computer is discoverable.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
Thank you for your time.
If you set your Activesync to stay connected after you sync, you should be able to use the internet through that connection.
I just tried it and I am getting 483k transfer speeds.
Thanks,

did you follow the guide as in
add a com port as bluetooth on both the pc and on the pda
and bound with the pc checking out that you wanted to sync that way ?
thank you rudegar, i tried it 3 times again and on the third time it connected
thank you for your time.
i can connect to internet easily now.

Activesync over Bluetooth

Has anyone managed to get activesync over bluetooth working ok? When I get the laptop to find the phone it says the only service available is dial up networking, and therefore doesn't allow me to connect to activesync?
I've got an XDA IQ
Thanks
Graham
Have you synced to the laptop using USB first?

Remote desktop

Does anyone know how to configure the remote desktop in WM6 to connect through GPRS. I have managed to get it to connect through a USB cable no problem but when I disconnect the cable and try it through GPRS it just says no connection and doesnt even try to connect to GPRS.
Any help appreciated.
Any specific program that you're using?
yeh would be good to know if this is possible i used Remote Desktop Mobile but all i can get is it to connect over wifi with the computer on that network, never over a data connection.
Try opening up internet explorer mobile first, let that connect to the internet for you through gprs and then run the remote desktop application.

how to connect to Desktop ad-hoc?

Does anyone know how i can connect using my prophet to my desktop adhoc internet shaing?
Is there any specific setting?
I tried connect with my N93i to my desktop ad-hoc and it has no problem wif internet surfing.. but once i try on my prophet it fail to let me use the internet (at 1st the Wifi connect was connected, once i start to go to google page, it cut off automatically.. repeated many times still can't get it thru)
any pls help me..
thx in advance
are you trying to access your computers internet connection from your ppc or the other way around... i'm confused.
Ad-hoc means "for a specific purpose" you never really told us what purpose
i'm trying to access my desktop internet connection using ad hoc.. i set everythg on desktop, but jus can't connet to it using my prophet
You need to tell activesync (or wmdc) to allow your phone to access the internet connection on your desktop.
can't i jus skip the WMDC part and connect using wifi only to the ad-hoc?

Click to collapse
Even I'm also waiting for some solutions. I searched over website but i couldn't able to find anything.
Do you want to share your computer internet to phone?
Yeh like the E71.
So you use your home internet and tether it to your phone, via blue tooth, or usb.
You can search around the web for tether programs for your laptop or wifi enabled desktop. I tried it out once but couldn't really get it to work.
If youre running on windows 7 then you can download a program called connectify... its gonna transmit wifi through the laptops internal wifi card... but for that to work you have to have the actual internet accessing from an ethernet cable on the laptop
