i noticed in this phone that whenever you send a message, and the text message fails to send, you would have to click on the "send again" link to be able to retry sending it. signal is bad inside my house and i dont want to keep on clicking the "send again" link.
is there anyway to have it resend automatically every, like, 10 seconds?
i dont think there is going to be any reply.
most i found was an automatic resend of an MMS which is as follows:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI]
"AutoResend"-> 1 to set Auto Resend if Sending Failed .. 0 if not
-found written by moebiusway in another thread
ummm, im pretty sure it tries resending automatically. just not sure what the time intervals are
It tries, but fails after some tries. Which is stupid to me.
then it sends it to drafts...yeah, it sucks

I've been having problems with long texts not being received. I send a short one and it goes through, I send a longer one (say 140 characters) and it doesn't. Phone pops up the message sent bubble, but it is never received.
To test out my theory, I started a new sms and sent it to myself. phone says it sent, then I get a reply via text saying like not able to send, please resend with area code... so i use area code and it sends and i get it just fine. I press reply and send a short message, it comes through.. I reply again and send a longer message, and I get the error saying I need an area code.
So what seems like is going on, for whatever reason with I REPLY to a message with a lengthy text, it tries to send it without area code... I dont get that error text back though when sending to my girlfriend.
I'm on alltel, typically trying to text my girl on verizon.
HELP!?
This is a problem I am dealing for they day I purchse the Phone.
This apply for some of my contatcs
When i receive a SMS and hit reply, i write my message and the hit send. I am getting straight away the error: message was not sent. try again?
Then I go and start a New Message not replying to that to the same contact and the message sents fine.
Do you know what i can do?
this happens to me every now and then. Sometimes when the phones doing a lot of stuff or the network messes up.
Also i've noticed that the majority of the time when that error appears, the message is actually sent, because i'll press the try again and it'll resend the message, then i'll get a message back from the recipient saying they've recieved the message more than once.
My situation is quite different. When i press resend I get the same message and the receiptent does not get anything.
Also this problem is for some of my contacts and only for some of them.
Im looking at sending text messages direct from the shell, so far i have managed to insert in to the mmssms.db using:
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db;
insert into sms values(null,13,'1234567890','',1298457182496,'',1,32,6,'','','test','',0,0,1);
the status of 32 is what the messages get assigned if you try to send a message when you dont have signal, so my thoughts were if i entered a message in to the db with that status, it would get automatically sent. Sadly it doesn't.
I have tried restarting the mms app and turning airplane mode on and off and this doesnt work. BUT, manually sending another message will cause both messages to get sent OR restarting the phone will send the message upon restart.
So i am wondering is there a command i can use in shell which will cause the messaging app to sort of refresh its self and see it has a message stuck on pending and send it, the same was restarting or sending another message does?
Thanks
A
It seems like there is some function/method for sending things that are stored... you may want to consult the all knowing google

i have tried, just a bit unsure what im searching for though..
I had a problem with the stock msg app going into a continueoues looping resending a text because it was reprtoing that the number was incorrect.
So:
1. I couldn't find this, but is there a way to NOT have it resend on an error
2. If I load on any msg app, is there a way to disable this msg app?
3. any other options anybody can provide??
Thanks
I found this in another phone thread, so I guess this is how to disable the stock if I gho that route..
Open messages and hit menu. Uncheck received notification.
Very strange and anoying. I disabled the stock app, installed handcent set the settings where I thought it doesn't resend on error nd then it starting sending the same msg over and over that the stock one was sending.
FYI - msg is:
2288 error invalid number, please re-send using valid 10 digit number or short code. how can i clear out this msg or have my msg app stop sending it???
update, I did a search and found a number of peiople reporting this problem on other phones but no reported fixes related to this phone. So stuck right now with handcent uninstalled, it continued to resend the stupid msg even with the data off. So back to stock with data off, so NO text functionality at this time unles I can figure out how to clear. reset was suggested on the phone, but that will blow alot of instal apps and data away. so last resort..
EDIT: the last resort didn't work, factory reset and after reboot the d&*n text started up again... I don't under stand how it can send/receive text with no network setup... fyi - I using the phone on a at&t pre-paid network. The 3GS worked great, this phone has issues and thsi is the biggest one.
Hi, I haven't found a previous problem so here:
Lately I have a problem sending SMS (didn't try MMS) from my device (VI 4.0.2). It seems to either not send, or take a long time to send. Strangely enough if I copy the stuck SMS and delete it, then paste and send a new SMS it works instantly. If not, it just stays for ~5-15 min before it is sent.
Is this a ROM thing or can someone hook me up with a SMS apk that I can try flashing? Also, the problem does not vary with message length nor message counts.
Regards.
