As far as i know, this can only be done with applications such as flexmail. A small thumb nail picture is displayed at the top of the message.

Why there are no pictures in cotacts edit?

Why there are no pictures assigning to cotacts like other phones...
I must use third party software and Photo Contacts are so buggy, even latest version...
I just want to recommend me some good program that accept home screen contact pictures and ability to call that contact from home screen.
In Photo Contacts you are able only to send sms and even then it makes some problems (resesting, debug screen,...)

Are you sure? I have assigned pictures to some of my contacts.
check the second field from the top in the contact, right below the name field. It's there in both WM5 and WM6.
The same picture is used for Picture Speed Dial when you enable it.

Texting more than one person

Can anyone tell me how to send a text message to a group of people. I have contacts that are assigned to a similar category. I would like to be able to seen everyone in a picked category a single text message and everyone get it. How do I do this on the Fuze?
GroupSMS does this nicely.

Though I do wish there was a way to select multiple people at a time instead of selecting them one by one.
Also, since this topic is somewhat relevant, anyone try to send a group message, but then not all the recipients receive the texts at the same time? Some recipients received the text a few hours later, or some the day after..
The delay could be caused by the different carriers your friends are on.

I was gonna say that as well, but the original post mentioned that the contacts were arranged in categories and they would like to send messages based on that.
But yeah, your right, easy and free.

Group Message as Picture Message

I am running Mango Beta 2 on my HD7 and whenever i use the new contact group message feature some of my friends get a picture message instead of just text. Anyone else having this issue and know of a fix?

Disable "Group text" in the messaging settings panel.
Of course, this also limits the ability for the phone to group these messages together as intended. The only way for the phone to know that these messages are "grouped" is by MMS, because MMS inherently allows additional information to be attached to it (such as header information, kinda like how e-mails can have additional hidden details attached to them). Without this additional information, a text message is pretty much just a line of text with a phone number attached to it.
That makes sense. Thanks for that

[Q] SMS nofication Problem.

Hello everybody, this is my firs post. I am an happy z3 owner coming from iphone.
I have a question regarding the managing of the SMS notification on the pull down bar (where you have all the notifications).
While for the emails I can open the line with the number of new message I have, on the sms notification I just have "new messages: 2" but i cannot find any way to see who is sending me the message or I cannot see any preview of the message.
The only thing I can do is switch to the sms application in order to see the preview and the sender name.
Am I doing something wrong? can you guys help me?
Ciao

Normally you just click on the "new messages: 2" line and it should take you to whichever app you use for that type of message (Hangouts, or whatever the stock one is called).
Thanx for the answer. The probkem is that i would like to see who is sending me the sms without opening the default application. This is more bad when i sm using acdisplay for the lock screen, because i have to unlock phone to see the sender.
I just switch to hangouts as a default sms client and the thing are better niw because i can see the sender name and a partial preview of the sms!

You could try Dashclock (free app, open source in fact), which supports a lot of plugins - there's a Hangouts extension there, and probably others which may show you more info, even from the lock screen.
