I was just told they were expecting it very, very soon. In a matter of days.

I don't believe we will see it until the week of the 24th as well. No stores have gotten any preliminary info and that is a pretty telling sign right there.
I wonder if the Fuze will be a part of any black friday deals. I would doubt it if just released that week. I would like to see it more in the $250 range because I don't think it is worth $350 and waiting 10 weeks for the 50 rebate, but I will probably ending up spending it anyway and dumping the Tilt on Ebay.

well given how they are releasing phones the epix came out like two weeks or a week ago bold came out today so i give the fuze another week or two it's definately coming out in november though

youngbusiness19 on the AT&T forums reported that he was able to get one from a store in Ohio.
Can anyone else confirm that they've obtained one?

I just called a local store in Indy and was told "We don't know when it'll be in. It's been delayed I think. I'm the manager and I would know!"
If he's the manager and "would know," he should be able to tell me and not just "think."

A little different answer
Not really important but... I called a major store in Denver. Lady has known of it some time as her job is dealing with new releases. She said that they were supposed to have displays up already but the materials are not in so they are behind schedule. She expects it any day. Also a sales person is getting trained on it tomorrow and hopes to know more then. Only significant thing is that they knew of it and were supposed to have displays up by now.

this sucks. im pretty sure black friday week is right. they dont want to have to put it on discount probably

I just called a local store in Queens for the billionth time today and they don't know when its coming but it will be coming sometime in the future.

Employees in Huntington Beach, CA store said next week.

I still say it has to be sooner than 11/25 because that is when the ATT rebate ends. And why would they include the Fuze in it if the phone isn't even going to be released by then. So I say it can't be Black Friday (11/28).

I was told next week... though previously told today... as far as black Friday and not wanting to discount it, well... they're in control... they can release it tomorrow and that doesn't mean they have to discount it. So, I don't see any reason they'd have to wait until then.

HTC HD2 on O2.........

Hi all,
Release date for the HD2 on O2 was yesterday, I have been trying my utmost to get hold of one of these. Does anyone know any insider information?
I seem to be getting different info from different O2 reps.
I WANT ONE NOW!

Nobody knows - but the best guess at the moment is next week at the earliest. O2 just can't seem to answer a straight question different representatives giving different answers. It could come out this afternoon but nobody knows

Gonna phone them again. They are all saying its due this week but can't tell me when. They say only once it shows on the system can they price it etc.

Next rep has said they are conducting tests on it and it will be released on the 26th November. I am so bloody impatient!

i know it's terrible waiting! i am so DESPERATE for this phone lol

Getting around all the hype, I don't think the Palm Pre has been a fantastic seller for them and I think if the HD2 drops now it will leave them with a lot of unsold Pre's.... so they are holding it back for the that reason (pure guesswork on my part).

The HD2 was supposed to be "in the final stages of acceptance testing" last week.

How they expected the Pre to sell as well as their marketing implies that they expected it to, is a mystery to me - the Pre offers very little new or exciting, with the OS being the only real exception (and I've heard a wide range of opinions on the OS). The problem is, if they hold back the HD2, they're going to end up not selling many of those as most people who want one will have moved to a different network or got one unlocked (O2 is one of the worse networks now IMHO - presumably they spent all of their money on iPhone exclusivity and subsidisation rather than improving their network and offering good deals).
Why doesn't the BBC interview O2 about the HD2 instead of wasting time interviewing them about the Pre?

I think you might jus be right on that one my friend hopefully that wil teach them next time not be greedy and try to stock every handset under the sun

Yes, been pushed back to 3rd week November. However none of the reps I have spoken to are absolutely sure when it will be out, nor what the final pricing structure will be.
I am assuming they will definitely be out by December to catch the Xmas traffic.

How do you know? One of the early excuses for an ambiguous date was that O2 didn't want the HD2 to hurt Pre sales. However, there's clearly a lot more demand for the HD2 and a lot less demand for the Pre than they expected, so O2 might decide to fast-track the HD2.

I called customer services and spoke to a guy who said they will definitely be getting stock over the weekend and it will definitely be on sale on the 26th October. I have now spoken to quite a few o2 reps and none have sounded as positive as this one. He didn't even have to go and ask a supervisor/manager/buyer........

Thing is, they were originally planning to launch the HD2 on 12th October, so that blows your theory out of the water. See here:

Of course he didn't have to ask a supervisor. He was just telling you what you wanted to hear so he could get you off the line and move on to the next customer with a genuine need of assistance.
I'm not trying to be nasty, but there's no way the HD2 will be on sale from O2 on Monday, when none of the e-tailers are getting it until 11th November at the earliest. So for the next month or so, why don't you be patient, leave the poor call centre staff alone and get on with enjoying your life. It's only a phone.

BestBuy still selling on the 17th!!

The best buy store i pre ordered at said it will still be selling on the 17th!! An they will not be selling in the verizon store same day!!!!

No its Glass! I would never consider a plastic screen.
Sense seemed to fly. best looking phone ive ever played with. But in the end if the 4g is not $30 unlimited like i was told i will be skipping this and getting an iPhone. The only that makes me getting android worth it is unlimited 4g.
I still think iphone is the most complete phone. But i will be getting the thunderbolt just for the 4g.

Called the local Best Buy and they are telling me they do not have a release date set. Checked more into verizon and was told that HTC has posted an information block on the phone till march 31st. Found on engadget an article about a picture block and because of posting rules I am not allowed to post the link. Horray for spam control rules.
I am hoping next week would be the time but verizon and Best Buy are reporting that they do not have a release date and that "soon" is all they know. Was told soon for verizon could be a week to 6 weeks.

I agree, maybe they are waiting to see if its worth selling the 14th/17th because of a dud in iphone sales
Or is the iphone is a hit (which it is not) then they would post pone the TB
all speculation though
one thing i think is funny that the Verizon Iphone is becoming a dud. most people who wanted a iphone already switched to ATT so whats the big deal about getting wht someone already had for awhile

I think if you're going to offer pre-order(Best Buy), then you'd better have a hard launch date. Offering pre-orders without one is a poor business practice.

The iPhone is far from complete friend. It may be pretty and polished... and what it does, it does well, but complete isn't a word I'd use. Imagine using your phone all the time with your app drawer open and no access to your notification bar pull-down... there you go, an iPhone OS...

Every single BB employee that has posted on the forums has said none of the stores have gotten any stock in at all yet. Also why in the world would BB release the phone on the 17th? That is a Thursday and no one has ever heard that date mentioned by any of the sources out there. It has always been either the 14th or the 24th, the date makes no sense.

The 17th is only relevant due to Verizons habit of releasing on Thursdays. Highly unlikely that that's the date. IMO if it were the 14th, we clearly would've heard officially about it by now. If it were the 17th, same thing. 24th...well I think we need to heard about it sometime next week, sooner rather than later for that to be plausible. I just don't see it being released without some sort of ad campaign prior. Until I see ad's I am being pessimistic.

Theory on the delay

Rumors are that Apple is releasing LightPeak under the name ThunderBolt. Could it be that the phone got delayed to change the name? Apple has done this a few times, where they'll use a conflicting name then throw their weight around to take the trademark.
Haven't seen anybody else make this correlation, so I thought it was worth putting out there.

If it comes out tomorrow or 28th, I blame apple and none of the other BS rumors. If it comes out in March there might actually be network problems.

It probably is apple because they played the commercials for the phone during the all star game with no date money does make the world go 'round and its not going to have Skype maybe because Skype just got their group calling out of beta so it would be useless for ppl to have a Skype which can't do group calls just a theory

A little inside info from work. 28 is where it got put cause 24th we didn't get shipments ontime so most likly 28th at this point. Rss reflects all bes buy stores in the area like Jersey, Ny, have no shipments and no stock inbound or any TB in stock. so no i can pretty much confirm. 24th is NOT the release date. 28th SHOULD now be. Fun fact, if your in Jersey like I am. Most of the coverage map is empty for jersey so 4G is useless till coverage comes in our area for Verizon.

He's said several times the phone isn't coming until March. The 28th isn't happening. Verizon never releases on any other day than Thursday, either.

Yeah but would they start the "coming soon" commercials on TV this soon? I read yesterday 3/21 for a drop date (but if that's a Monday and they don't do Mondays then ??). I realize the IPhone was hyped up FOREVER before its release, but that was THE IPHONE!! Stop the world, lol, here it comes.
I don't think I've actually ever waited for a phone, usually I just get what's out, so IDK when they start their ads for the next big thing usually.

I think apple is behind the delay on the TB. I was told by a Verizon tech that Apple demanded that V erizon stop the new every two plan if they wanted the iphone.

black_max_x complains and moans when ppl dont give him credit for what he says, he doesnt atually say a release date. he does some GAY poem that hints on a month. people dont want to figure that **** out so they ignore what he says, then when ppl are *****ing about the date not being right THEN he says the month and complains nobody listens to him or gives him credit. i find him very annoying lately [/rant]

Anyone has more news on the release dates and availability in US soil?

so far ive heard mid/late april and also may 7 which i thought was canadian release date, which could always be tied in with US release,
either way....hopefully this thread can help get a better idea of the US release

Darn, I got excited when I read the thread title.

i've waited too long the fever is cooling down.
they are out of supplies in taiwan, and due to japan earthquake, parts were delayed. i'd be surprised if they'll have enough to display in every bestbuy store by end of month.

I saw dates of April 19 being mentioned in various places, but more likely in other forums. None of the etailers like amazon have anything on it either, although newegg lists the 32GB version but no release date or price. Japan situation is really bad though so that could be reason of no word from asus. If there really is a big delay and it goes into May I might just wait and see what the samsung 10.1 situation is as thats meant to be released June 6 or 9.

OMG I desperately want this tablet. At first I was all for the Xoom, but my interest in this tablet has grown exponentially daily! I just hope that it's out in bestbuy by my birthday, April 23rd!!

Well i hope the 19th is accurate because my birthday is on the 18! easy way to justify the purchase! but given we're a week away with no word, can only hope now.

we should have a bday party together, stare at the pictures of transformer, and tears running down the face

Amazon UK are now saying preorders will be dispatched on the 1st of June. That could mean the US release is pushed back at least that far.

I really hope it goes up for sell sometime in April. Not sure I can wait much longer....

How could that be? Didn't the Transformer go on sale very recently in the UK? So, couldn't someone in the UK just walk into a retail store as we would in the US and pick one up - or is it really that backed up/not available in stores?

Anyone working for bestbuy, or with friends working there or friends of friends or ... that can spill some details?
We promise we won't say anything and we'll keep this just among us...

i envy you guys...i was waiting for tmo's gslate until i saw the transformer..but my needs changed and i'm dropping my gal tab since i picked up the asus eee slate ep121....and although i will miss android...i cant say enough good things about this slate

Amazon always tends to play it safe to try and avoid extra calls etc. However, as soon as they have the stock available they will ship it out ASAP and I am sure that will not be June.
Now I just wish we would get a US release date!
