Font in comm manager - Touch Cruise General

Hi there after installing some appz , font used by comm manager changed
(see screenshot) and sometimes reading is difficult.
How to change it?
thanks alot

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I had installed some application(s).
I resolved this by renaming bmmini.ttf in the /windows/fonts/ folder to bmmini.old

Hey Pisdu,
Just leave that font.... it looks cooool!

Original Comm Manager: looking for it

Hi everyone, I am looking for the "original" WM6 comm manager (or ones similar to it), I just don't like the one with my current ROM, it is too cluttered.
I've tried to find it, but so far, without any results. Is there anyone who can help me?
Thanks!
How about this one....

Thanks for the CAB, but how can I install it?
When running the CAB I get a "unsufficient system permissions" like error.

Comm Manager Font Problem

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the Comm Manager in my Touch Cruise.
I just did a hard reset and installed Mobile Navigator GPS software.
Now my Comm Manager looks like this.
If you can notice, the fonts are all jagged.
Any Clues?
Thanks
I've got similar problem. The font in comm. manager is changed. But only in comm manager. Everything else is ok.
same problem here. any ideas how to solve it?
I have the same issue, slightly different font. It is also visible in Notes - Options - on the bottom. I may have that since installing Resco. I suspect that some fonts are replaced.
I have found a solution to it. Rename font files in
\Windows\Fonts
ipa93mr.ttf
ipa93dr.ttf
ipa93sr.ttf
to
ipa93mr.ttf.orig
ipa93dr.ttf.orig
ipa93sr.ttf.orig
and soft-reset. You may have different fonts there as well. But I found these to correspond with the weird fonts in Comm Manager.
In my phone (german OS) the files are called arial.ttf, arialbd.ttf and arialk.ttf.
These are from MN6 and I have delated them. Now the CommManager looks like before and Navigon works also pretty good.

Apparently, I need those fonts installed in \Windows\Fonts. I am only wondering how Comm Manager picks up fonts to be applied in the application. In all likelihood it searches for closest fonts available. Maybe I could copy some default fonts and rename them.
same issue
I have same issue with same phone except:
1. My fonts look even worse than the orig poster
2. My \windows\fonts folder is empty
Noticed the issue last night after I installed the HTC today plug in. So I did a hard reset and it was fine again. Just finished installing CoPilot, Pocket Mechanic and Weather Panel (NOT HTC today this time) and checked Comm Manager and its back to being corrupt again.
Help?!?!
FIXED
OK, my problem is with Marsware weather panel.
To fix:
1. uninstall weather panel
2. copy arial.ttf from your c:\windows\fonts to PPC\windows\fonts
3. soft reset
This worked for me.
Unfortunatly, if you reinstall weatherpanel the problem will return. (as I just found out).
The comm panel does not look the same as it does after a hardreset but it looks a lot better than it did after it corrupted (I think it looks better than original!).
I should probably go to Marwares homepage and report the issue. SPB Weatherbar would not connect/update for me and I do like having the weather on my today screen
Fixed Comm Manager font issue!!
I had the same issue on htc touch cruise comm manager, but the tip given by dib_uk worked for me, thanks!.
My problem started when, due to an application, i got installed a "weird" font file on the empty folder named "fonts" (Windows/Fonts on device). I tried to delete this file, but it didnt allow me, i always got an error message telling me that it was in use by some application. So, this is what i did:
1.- Closed the Comm Manager application, and besides that, terminated the CommManager.exe process using MemMaid.
2.- Copied the font file "Arial Black (true type) from my lap top (c:/windows/fonts) to the folder windows/font on my device
3.- To ensure that the "weird" font file was released, i cut it and pasted on a temp folder, then i finally could delete it
4.- Did a soft reset
5.- Opened Comm Manager and it voila!, it had the same look as from stock
I hope this help to any other with this issue, sorry for my english, its not my native language

Messed up font in Comm Manager

My font in Comm Manager is messed up. Hardly readable and with missing language specific sings like åäö. Of course it's som of the programs I've installed thats causing this, but even if I uninstall them the right font doesn't appear.
What can I do? Besides hard resetting? Am I missing a font and if so, which?
i have the same thing. are you also using the orbit 2.
No, I've got a Polaris.
I had the same thing on my orbit 2, only way of clearing it was a hard reset. I suspected it was one of the skins i loaded for phonealarm.
no phoneallarm installed and same problem, so...
I had this problem for a while, I did some investigating and found that it was due to my installation of Weather Panel by Marsware. to fix this you need to delete the pixel.ttf and BRADHITC.ttf files found in the "Program Files\Marsware\WeatherPanel\themes\default" folder, i just renamed them to .bak. do a soft reset and you should be OK. If you don't have weatherpanel, try searching your device for any .ttf file, you should only have three Cour.ttf, tahoma.ttf, and tahombd.ttf and they should be located in \windows (don't delete these three) anything else you find might be the problem, try renaming and then Soft reset.
Same problem here; it appeared after installing phonealarm
search with resco explorer for .ttf
do not delete tahoma.ttf tahomabd.ttf cour.ttf
delete Bradhitc.ttf and
newton.ttf and
Pixel.ttf or anything else
Oh course I have both WeatherPanel AND PhoneAlarm.
But your advice did help. Thanks.
I was thinking what causes Comm Manager choose another font and how to stop it.
I'm thinking of two ways. Either copy the needed font to the same directory as the exe file or make a copy of the needed font and reneme it with an a in fron, if Comm Manager looks for any font, and goes for it an alphabetic order.
Similar thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1871697
I have of course both Weather Panel and PhoneAlarm.
But your tips solved the problem, I uninstalled the fonts.
But what causes Comm Manager do take another font? Does it look for the "nearest" font in a folder close to it or does it choose from an alphabetic order?
I had the same problem in my XDA Orbit, but it isn't the phone fault, but WM's. I'v copied a new font (random one, for skinning Wisbar Advance) into /windows/fonts folder and after soft reset, the comm manager font changed. I think, that maybe, somehow, Windows makes the last used/updated/copied font a default font for it. Try re-copying tahoma in windows/fonts. I can't try it for myself now, waiting for my Orbit 2 hehe, but I know the issue. Hope it helped.

Manila Mods

As far as I know there aren't a lot lot raph's owner editing their manila to add a calendar, call history or comm manager tab. I bumped into all kinds of wall's when I tried to add an calendar tab. After a lot of searching and trying I can't get manila editor 2.0 to recognize the 26948339_manila file, It just doesn't see it for some reason. Anybody else tried and succeeded? Or to add other tabs? This could be the thread where different kinds of manila mods on raphael could be discussed. I'll posted it here when I have found a solution, cheers
These are some of the tabs, already in the diamond forum, Calendar, comm manager and Call history
Hi!
I currently have the calendar and commanager tabs working on my touch pro.
I took me some working to get them there, but i did it.
Try installing the theme posted on the link below, it has both tabs and is basically the original theme with the greens changed into blue (my creation).
You can apply the theme with Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool v 3.2.
Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/?oxbz2eayvgu
Cheers and good luck.
Real nice thank you! Did you do this with manila editor? You mean to say open with TF3D config right? Either way can't seem to open it (i did use AC 3.2 and). Must be doing something wrong...
First, you got it right, I meant the Diamond TF3D Config instead of configurator, sorry for the mistake.
What version of the TF3D config are you using? I'm using 0.6.7 and i've just installed this very same theme after having changed to another one previously....
Where/how are you trying to install the theme? Are you going in the "appearence", selecting the directory where you placed the .theme file clicking on "path", selecting the theme it self on the drop down list, then clicking on "apply" and hitting "start"...
Maybe you missed some of these steps?
Anyways, take a further look and search into the diamond themes threads, you may find your way...
Cheers.
I would love a "tasks" tab...

Hey man thanks for replying did all that but it doesn't show, also have the latest version(apptodate), maybe it has thye wrong format. I'm on romeos. Here are some screenshot's. But could you also tell me how you edited these because I cannot get manila editor the read 26948339_manila. Anyway thans a lot , cheers
I'm out of ways to try to edit 26948339_manila (to add a calendar tab to manila), there is just no way this file is seen by manila editor 0.2. I'm using this on vista, maybe someone else has some info...
I have managed to install comm manager via this cab
Use a notepad like application (windows XP Notepad worked for me), not the manilla editor. Don't forget to change the file attributes to "writeable" (not read-only) prior to editing it.
Good luck.

Now my default theme. Thankyou. I was bored with the Vodafone one.
The call history page locks up each time I switch to it. Everything else works perfectly. What am I missing?
I succeeded in getting either a calendar tab or comm manager tab. Will attach the manila files, which are those created by D-MAN666 + 26948339_manila I edited (thanks cassiano)
Ok I succeeded in installing both of the tabs, with the above cab and these manila files (copy them to your windows folder with total commander). Something new has come up though, my home screen calander link became unresponsive (it doesn't link any more)

I had the same issue...and think it was because I loaded the Calendar tab first. Blob8Me has 14 tabs total with no issues, but went in a sequence that allowed it. I don't want to remove my calendar tab to install the call history tab first. Holding my ground with just 12 tabs.

Here's my "stuff" to date..... with a few screen-shots showing some "extra's" added since the quote below.....

Hi All...
Thought I'd add a coiple more Images as its been a few days since anyone posted here..... and I really do think this is a worthwhile thread
I'm still using the Diamond Forum for most developments as much of the work done there works for the Raphael seemlessly - not all, but most. The next major development I'm waiting for is the ability to apply the Home wall-paper to all Tabs in TF3D but this doesnt quite work yet although I made some small progress with mun_rus's work for the Sprint Diamond - see post #78 in link bellow!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432951&page=8
So - changes I've made since my last post here - I've added a sound settings tab - that gives me 14 active and useful tabs now I've added the analog clock to my home Tab - loosing the call history & appointment but I have the call history tab and still get my reminders for appointments. I've also added the VGA battery icon and tweaked the Titles on a couple of pages.
Current Tabs are:
Home - Of Course!
Speed Dial (People Tab)
Messages
Mail (Blackberry Connect & Emoze Free Push email client - www.emoze.com - both in use - very happy)
Jeff's Day (D-Man666's Calendar Tab)
Call History
Weather
Ohoto's & Videos
Music
Internet
Comm Manager (IDS_Communications Tab)
Settings
Programs
Sound Settings (Sound Tab)
A few (but not all) screenshots attached for info -those with the wallpaper as a background (weather, calendar) are as a result of woring on the background changer from mun_rus - please search this and the Diamond forum before asking for cabs, code etc.....
So - Lets see some more activity on the forum from Raphael users...... we do, after all have the best phone available in the world at the moment?

Yes, because the Call History and Calendar had the same number. Moved the Call History to page 11. Still locked when I went into the tab. Just uninstalled. I will install the Call History first after I install the Elite Rom (once released). Not sweating about it right now.
I was looking to reactivate the non responsive calendar link on the home screen but I suddenly got another tab added (the unresponsive link seems to be caused by mun_rus' Backgound Image on All Pages)
Right am just about to start to attempt some editting of manila files, what's the best programme to do this

To be honest (having done a lot of this) I find that the standard notebook app that comes with windows is fine for basic edits????
.
I installed the Calendar tab on my Touch Pro - everything is working except the month and days are displayed as IDS_CALENDAR_xxxxxxx (xxxx being the name of month/day).
Where is this filed substituted?
Nevermind, I got it - the zip did not include one important file. I got it from elswhere, now it works.

tf3d backgraound

hi guys right i might be a dumb but how the hell do i change te wallpaper or background on tf3d, so far ive managed to change the clock the and sliders but the wallpaper is stumped me
You can change the main background using the Settings tab in TF3D. I downloaded a cab last night that will make the background the same for all tabs but haven't tried it as yet. Here's the cab (obtain from another thread)... you can give it a whirl... haven't had time to test. Let me know if you do test it and it works.
Update: Decided to test it and it works fine. Just install, and then change the background using the "Settings" tab on TF3D. Select the background and it should be the same on each tab.
that damn cab screwed my tf up it made the date jan 1 and it says i have tmobile wich i most certainly do not and the time is wrong
watsup??
lbhocky19,
I installed it and it worked fine. The date did not change based on my config and I does not say "Tmobile". I'm using ROMeOS and I was able to change the background that's included in the ROM without any issues.
so weird
im using romeos as well
i ended up just using tf3d config sending it back to original theme and its ok now
Strange.. sorry about that. I checked out the cab and all it's doing is placing two manila files in the \windows directory:
5c9aa261_manila
1c684cd8_manila
No registry entries/etc.
This is where I found the cab to install: http://www.dangdeals.com/tf3d/
o im not mad at ya or nothin haha it worked for u it shouldve worked for me wierd stuff
but since i switched back to this theme tf3d seems so much quicker especially when sliding out the keyboard so maybe it was luck?
All part of the fun.

without any 3rd party software, you could just edit these registry keys to point to the file you want to use as the background.
hkey_current_user\software\htc\manilla\cachedbackground
hkey_current_user\software\htc\manilla\HomeBackground
change the values to point to the location of the image you want as background
