What is it...
Very stable and very reliable "lite" ROM, and I dare to state it right from the start because myself and 2000+ other users (as of November 21, 2008) were running it and in that time we have NOT found any bugs
It is not "very lite" ROM as I would want, there are few many apps cooked-in for that, but since it started as "unofficial" continuation of ROMeOS line of ROMs I didn't change the things that were "always there". Having said that, I must add that it is just few apps I would have not included if I was 'designing" it by myself, i.e. Camera app (when cooked-in cannot be uninstalled or upgraded with newer or other versions obviously) or NETCF could have been moved to Storage Card (it *does* work fine from SD with every .net app I have tried so far, au contraire to what many people say; it is needed on Main Storage only if you have or use any .net apps that run at startup, ie ToDay plugins utilizing .net or such).
The Name...
As some of you know already, the name eOS is short for "enhanced Operating System" and it is very similar to now defunct ROMeOS series by hang.tuah.
The similarity of the name is not coincidence. It was first made as a mish-mash, a mixture, or a spaghetti consisting of ROMeOS 4.21, ROMeOS 4.5.3, ROMeOS 4.6.0 and even few files were taken from same base as ROMeOS 4.7.0 - spiced up large replacements, changes and additions from various other sources. But undeniably it's heart was ROMeOS
It supposed to be just a final bug-fix release to ROMeOS series, its last ROM, but unfortunately due to lack of communication with hang.tuah (ROMeOS creator), not knowing at that time his opinion on the subject, in the last minute I changed ROM's name to "eOS" or "eOS ROM" (from "ROMeOS 4.888" as I was originally planned) and simply credited hang.tuah as the "owner". That's all about this weird name.
Why "Final"...
Because as I said above, this is somewhat "unofficial" (meaning not released by hang.tuah) final bug-fix version for ROMeOS series. Version number 4.888 is a logical continuation, next after hang.tuah's last version 4.7, also because it is my nickname if you haven't notice it ;-)
And as for arguments that "this is first 888's ROMeOS so how it can't be already final" - well, actually it is not first, and as you see below there are two versions.
Bugs...
The first version, dated September 22, has a bug in Internet Explorer Mobile, where fullscreen doesn't work (fixed in the October ROM version, and is easy to fix on September ROM version with hotfix cab available in the eXtended Pack, if anyone wants it).
Another minor bug in this version (actually not a bug per se, but annoying Windows' own behaviour) is that with certain configuration there is sound file played at start up (this has been also fixed in the October ROM version, and is easy to fix on September ROM version with hotfix cab available in the eXtended Pack if anyone wants it).
Now the most important:
The concept of utilizing UC process, or "less cooked-in is better".
This ROM is UC capable, and although it is not "real lite" ROM, most of its content - thanks to UC - can be easily upgraded with time as newer or better app versions appear, without the need of replacing/reflashing entire new ROM
For example if you want to update your dialer its no problem, just uninstall it and install newer one. You want different Comm Manager? No problem either, just uninstall old one and install the one you want. You want newest Windows Live? No problem! Just... well, I'm sure you get the idea by now ;-) All of it is possible only because none of those apps is cooked-in in the ROM, but they are installed rather during or after each hard reset (with UC process) or simply installed and uninstalled "manually" whenever you want it.
That's basically the essence of this "less cooked-in is better" concept that few of us are advocating here.

How it works?
In short - it works the same way as if the Chef would have cooked those apps into the ROM, the difference is that *YOU* choose what have to go there and when, because very very few apps really require to be actually cooked-in, 99% of them work the same when they are just installed the old way... and fear no evil - you DON'T have to do all of this installing by yourself That's where UC process comes in. You simply select the apps you want (you can use one of the "pre-set selection" if you don't want to do even that by yourself), copy 1 folder and 1 file to your SD card, and that's all. Everything you chose will be automatically installed during first boot after you've flashed your phone with new ROM, or/and during every hard reset in the future - much the same as if those apps were cooked-in in the ROM (but with your choices, and option to change your selections, replace or upgrade the apps with different/newer versions, etc etc). All you have to do is just keep your SD card in the phone.

ROM eOS4.888.FiRe is supported through releases of ROM Updaters until 2011 by -888-
Since each ROM Updater (U-20xx.xx) contains *all* cumulative updates and Windows Mobile hotfixes, any previous ROM Updaters should be treated as obsolete. Please update your eOS FiRe only with latest ROM Updater version.
You can install ROM Updater at any time on your Kaiser, and installation of newer version on top of previous versions is absolutely fine (there is no need to hard reset or re-flash your ROM).
Just make sure: after installation you *must* soft reset (restart) your Kaiser immediately when you are asked to do so, don't wait or delay it.

(I removed dnld link to Final ver because I just read about possible better solution to the fullscreen - a real fix instead of using PIEPlus to patch it up - and Im just making it, if test go OK then that will be Final version)
*but for you, since you already use eOS4.888 same as me, just get the eXt.Pack and install fix only, you don't need to flash entire ROM

Yes, I added all the Rogers CNAP settings from the old Rogers ROM that was posted on xda
/edit: but I read somewhere that some mysterious DLLs are supposedly needed too, so if its true I don't think it will work

Though my sig states differently I use the 888 with the famous NIKI Radio without a single hick-up running M2D (Sept. 13 with the 0.07 CAB) with zero, null, nope problems fast and 100% stable!

Hmm, I remembered *you* asked me once for ROMeOS 4.6.0 with dynamic PP, so I posted it too.
(it wasn't any big deal since I already had it fixed with PIE zoom/fullscreen before, I only updated it with few minor things and changed pagepool per your request).
Bad news:
Probably IEM7 to really work correctly needs its entire base's exact sys, xip etc, so I guess its back to piggy-backing on PIEPlus to get fullscreen working

Tips n Tricks:
Flashing your First Rom (For Newbs)
Disabling 3G connection:
Tap Start - Settings - Phone - Band, Select network type to GSM OR
Tap Programs - Utils, tap CommMgr Style then run CommManager. You can disable 3G from there.
For those experiencing any strange problems please do the following steps
Flash the rom using Windows XP
Turn off Hybernate, Power Saving feature on your PC and disable any program that running in the background (anti virus etc) while you're flashing.
Flash any wm6.1 stock rom prior flashing HyperDragon
Clean your SDCard, delete any folders/files ((Program Files)) created by previous rom. Put your sdcard into your sd adapter and defrag it from your pc.
Make a hard reset after you have done flashing HyperDragon
Reflash whatever your HardSPL to cmonex's 3.29.
DO NOT restore any backup from any program.
Try reproduce the problems on fresh install (DO NOT install any other app yet)
Notes: I'm currently using cmonex's HardSPL 3.29, Radio 1.65.24.36 and everythings works fine here.

Some tips on flashing HyperDragon rom:
Make a hardreset when you have finished flashing. Do it on initial boot when your device shows "Tap the screen to ....". Here's how to hardreset your device: use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device (don't hold it) then quickly Press & Hold Left SOFT KEY and Right SOFT KEY. You'll be presented with a menu, just follow the instructions.
If you use Lite Versions, make sure you install Task Manager & NetCF before you install anything else.
For hardspl you should use cmonex's 3.29.
You can use any wm6.1 radios, goto The Ultimate Radio Thread (post#3) for download links. Pick one that works best for you.

Enable/Disable Large Start Menu & Large Title Bar
Goto Start - Settings - System - Touchflo and (un) check [Enable large start menu]
TouchPanel Sensitivity:
To increase touchscreen sensitivity you can set various value to the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\TouchPanel]
"PressureThreshold"=dword:2710 (hex) ; this is the initial value 10000 (dec)
Usually this value will be change automatically by the system whenever you run the align screen, the value set may vary depends on how hard you push the touchscreen. You may want to edit it manually using registry editor and set the value to which you think the best. I recommend to set the value to 245 or 400.

Well, I used yours (3.14) , can't find better ddi (in terms of UI speed), also replaced the kernel. Any suggestion mate?

Runs very fast on the new HardSPL (Jocky's v3.28) - no screen freezes so far, feels absolutely awesome!!!!
I may give this one a whirl. It seems fast with plenty of storage, and not all the bells and whistles I really need in a rom. As long as my bt, gps, reception, and battery life is good, and my core player, mobiTV, and text messaging works ... I'm good to go.

I've been having this bug many months but still could not find any solution so i figured i'll just post it here to see if there is any updates on it. Not sure if it's due to HTC Home or the bluetooth or the OS itself. FYI

is there a possibility of MS Voice command working on this version. that's the ONLY thing that kept me from 2.2 and 2.3 I really need it but besides that I think these ROMs are the best thing to come out in a while

I have been using MSVC 19209 with 2.3. MSVC didn't work when it was wasn't one of the first few .cabs I installed. I installed quite a few apps to storage so Igo would have more memory to play with. ROMeOS has been great.
Humble Request
Is there any way to have the program folder icons not be ones that look like Mac? Or is there a way to change them to your v2.3 Rom? If not it's cool, I just rather have something look windows instead of iPhone/Mac if you know what I mean.

I have MSVC 19209 working fine with all of these ROMs (v2.2, v2.3 and v2.4). Did you install it to storage? I don't think it works unless it is in main memory
ps. I don't think installing programs to storage card will improve iGo performance very much. iGo requires lots of program memory to run whereas installing software to device uses up storage memory.

From many days been very busy with CR86 THD ROM's developments so was unable to continue CMac ROM's. But now CRMac is back with WinMo 6.5 build. However its a beta release and I request your feedbacks. This version is a basic mean that it doesn't contain many apps and of course some of you might like clean and naked ROM's....... Bin folder is hidden in the package so first you should enable "Show hidden files and folders" in folder options and then copy the nk.nbf from the bin folder.
For HardSPL Users :
Just run the welcome shortcut or enable "Show hidden files and folders" in folder options then go to bin folder and run RUU_GO.exe.
Welcome shortcut is only for hardspl users. NOT FOR SOFTSPL USERS

Before you run the RUU or flash the ROM, make sure you verify the following first:
USB sync cable isn't damaged or malfunctioning.
FLASHING VIA ACTIVE SYNC : USB sync cable is connected to the phone from computer, to establish an ActiveSync connection with the computer.
FLASHING VIA BOOTLOADER OR 3 COLORED SCREEN : USB sync cable is connected to the phone from computer, and USB is shown at the bottom of the screen ( Device/HTC Wizard ).
No other usb interface device(s) are/is connected to computer, except keyboard and/or mouse.
The standby and hibernation modes or settings are disabled on computer.
All running applications on the computer have been closed.

Do not interact or use your device ( HTC Wizard ), unless instructed to do so.
Do not remove the USB sync cable from device while flashing, unless instructed to do so.
Q. If I select any language except english in language listbox, The EzInput will not display any words or the EzInput will not work.
A. Due to less space I have deleted all the language files except english in the ROM. So you need to install the required language from : here or here.
Q. Which device I need, to use your ROM's.
A. You need HTC Wizard only. No matter if its G3 or G4.
Q. Which OS I need to flash your ROM's to my device.
A. W i n i d o w s X P is must for flashing. Don't try in other OS's, if so you will surely kill your device.
Q. I am getting this warning message when I will be synchronizing in w i n d o w s v i s t a. The warning message is : "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. All changes made since your last succesful sync will be lost. Do you wish to continue?"
A. This is due to flashing new a ROM and trying to synchronize, when the pc is already created partnership with previous ROM and it will fail to synchronize with newly flashed ROM. To fix this; Delete or end the partnership in wmdc and again resetup or create the partnership.

What a teaser!!!
In simple words, CRMac is based on MAC or the iPhone. Future thing can be seen after releasing. Seem that I doing more hardwork to build this ROM. because there are lack of stuffs which are based on Apple, MAC or the iPhone so I need to do my own

A. Windows XP is prefered for flashing. Don't try in other OS's, although Vista can be used for it too(to see how to flash from Vista search the forums you'll find it ).
Q. How can i determine version of my ROM?
A. There are three versions in my custom ROMs, one is the Windows Mobile Version, second is CE OS version, third is my custom Build Version. Windows Mobile and CE OS versions can be find in the introduction part or you can go to Settings > About on your Wizard. A. CustomROM versions help you determine which fixes are included in the ROM (builtin). They can be found in the name of downloaded RAR Archive or DeviceInfo on your HTC Wizard
Q. How do I change the today screen wallpaper?
A. There are 3 steps if you are using Manila 2d Editions or else use only 1st one if you are using other editions.
1. Open Picture & Vidoes; Choose the image; Go to start menu; Tap on "Set as today Back......." and there you have option to select transparency level; Tap OK.
2. Go to settings tab in Manila 2d; Tap on Wallpapers and choice your image. This only changes the home screen wallpaper of manila 2d.
3. Install M2DC and in that software you will get an option to select the wallpaper. This changes the wallpaper of all the tabs in Manila 2d. Note: the image should be in PNG format.

G'relocing sadly im a Vista user and i guess Vists is the problem .... Happily i have VMware Virtual Machine Installed and setup using which i can emulate XP from with in the Vista and do my work on it I guess my problem will be solve
UPDATE: Just got it done in XP There is some reason why ppl call me IT BOMB I'll be building a new ROM based on the Build 21028 but you guys will have to wait till April 2nd because my Exams are starting from 18th March I have to study hard as they are finals ..... but dont worry .... it'll give me more time to test the ROM

I would recommend 21028 because 21027 has A WiFi Bug else there are no as such bugs and memory details are the same for all of the Builds of CLEAN ROM and are given in the Introduction. Free RAM is 20~25MB

A small new tweaking like app developed by me, for selecting/switching the inputs ( EzInputs <- OR - > Default Inputs ). You can select either EzInputs ( Full QWERTY ( Default ), Compact QWERTY and/or Phone Keypad ) or Default Inputs ( Keyboard ( Default ), Letter Recognizer and/or Block Recognizer ) to display/show in SIP list. BTW; we get 2 - 3 MB FREE RAM, when all or any of the Default Inputs are selected/set'ed. After making any changes; Click apply and accept for softrebooting ( Highly Recommended ).

Known Bugs/Errors :
1. When I apply a themes, all windows, dialogs and etc will become gray in color instead of white. ECO Green 6.5, greenhtc, PureBlack2 themes doesn't have such problems.Reason/Solution : May be a build related problem/issue. However there is a solution. Open UI Tweaker -> SysColor Changer 'tab' -> Click Launch. Set "Window Background Color", "Tooltip Background Color" and "Dialog Box and Static Control Colors" to white ( 255, 255, 255 ). Tools 'leftsk' -> Apply. Click Yes to apply -> Click Yes to Reboot. You should do this every time when you apply a theme. However, I have fixed this problem in ECO Green 6.5, greenhtc, PureBlack2 themes which comes along with ROM.2. When I apply a themes, it will be installed as cab. Shows remove entry on remove programs.
Reason/Solution : May be a build related problem/issue too. Just forget about that coz it doesn't give any problems.
3. Clean Storage isn't working correctly.
Reason/Solution : Please install Service Pack 1 attached below. Don't forgot to reboot.
4. Input Config missing.

I hope the bunchmark is accurate.
All the wireless connections, today screen plugins/apps and auto screen/backlight off, were disabled before benchmarking.
Softreboot is preformed before benchmarking.
Spb Benchmark v1.6.0 Build 62 is used to benchmark.

Windows XP with latest service pack, is required for flashing or updating.
[*]Welcome shortcut is only for CID Unlocked device(s) or HardSPL User(s). NOT FOR CID LOCKED DEVICE(S) OR SOFTSPL USER(S).
Before you run the RUU or flash the ROM, make sure you have verified the following first:
USB sync cable isn't damaged or malfunctioning.
No other usb interface device(s) are/is connected to PC/Computer,
except keyboard and/or mouse.
The standby and hibernation modes or settings are disabled on PC/Computer.
All running applications on the PC/Computer have been closed.
[*]While flashing or updating, Do not interact or use your PDA, unless instructed to do so.
[*]While flashing or updating, Do not remove the USB sync cable from PDA, unless instructed to do so.
Flashings or Updating Notes -
For new user :
First determine if you got a G3 or a G4 device. When you turn ON your PDA, you can see IPL & SPL version on the screen. IPL/SPL : 1.XX or 2.XX is a G3 device or IPL/SPL : 2.XX.XXX1 is a G4 device.

Note : nk.exe is hidden in bin dir, enable "Show hidden files and folders" in folder options to see the dir.
Flashing via Active Sync :
USB sync cable is connected to PDA from PC/Computer, to establish an ActiveSync connection with PC/Computer.
RUU or nk.nbf is hidden under bin dir. Enable "Show hidden files and folders" in folder options. However, you can run RUU via welcome shortcut also.
Flashing via bootloader or three colored screen :
USB sync cable is connected to PDA from PC/Computer
USB is shown at the bottom of the screen ( PDA ).

FAQ
Q. How can I make colored startmenu icon, on WinMo 6.5 OS?
A. Install this cab and softreboot your device.
Q. Connection Setup doesn't open or doesn't work. What could be the problem?
A. ROM doesn't includes connection setup data base file so you have to install manually and use connection setup from settings -> connections. Cab is placed on Xtra Stuffs post or Click here.
Q. If I select any language except english in language listbox, The EzInput will not display any words or the EzInput will not work.
A. Due to less space I have removed all the language files except english in the ROM so you have to manually install the required language. Languages are placed on Xtra Stuffs post or Click here.
Q. How do I change the today screen wallpaper?
A. There are 3 steps if you are using manila 2d editions or use only 1st one if you are using clean editions.
Open Picture & Vidoes; Choose the image; Go to start manu; Tap on "Set as today Back......." and there you have option to select transparency level; Tap OK.
Go to settings tab in manila 2d; Tap on Wallpapers and choice your image. This only changes the home screen wallpaper of manila 2d.
Install M2DC and in that software you will get an option to select the wallpaper. This changes the wallpaper of all the tabs in manila 2d. Note: the image should be in PNG format.
Q. I am getting this warning message when I will be synchronizing in w i n d o w s v i s t a. The warning message is : "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. All changes made since your last succesful sync will be lost. Do you wish to continue?"
A. This is due to flashing new a ROM and trying to synchronize, when the pc is already created partnership with previous ROM and it will fail to synchronize with newly flashed ROM. To fix this; Delete or end the partnership in wmdc and again resetup or create the partnership.

Q. How do I change Manila 2d language.

Q. How do I to change the defualt Photo Album Manilla 2d so it will display my pictures & videos stored on my MiniSD card?
A. Navigate to the Photos and Videos tab in Manilla 2d , press the left softkey "Album", press the left softkey again "Albums", press Storage Card, navigate/select where your pictures and videos are stored, press right softkey "Menu", select "Set Album as Favorite"... Done!
