Sprint Extended (Super-Extended?) Battery Avail Yet? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Accessories

I'm loving my new Diamond on the Sprint network, but the thing just sucks the juice! I'm a data fiend, and it would seem that the battery only lasts about 2-3 hours with me at the controls.
Has anyone seen, or heard any news on a Super-Extended (since it's technically already extended) battery for the Sprint Diamond?
Thanks,
Null

I dont think this will fit the US version of the Diamond...

battery will probably fit, but the battery cover won't work.

has anyone seen or bought this 2000 mah battery? specs and images look fantastic
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/17413.htm
Apparently, the cover that is shipped with this 2000 mah battery is the original HTC cover which comes with the 1340 mah (the BP E270) which m eans this 2000 mah battery is no thicker than the BP E270:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/16941.htm
Covers look the same.
I can't see a brand name in the image, they just quote "Pwer-Cell". Could be of high quality though, I can't explain the price otherwise .. or maybe the back-cover is indeed the original HTC one. In any case, it is tempting. I was just curious whether anyone tried it.
Cheers

That's very interesting... It's a Mugen Powercell and they are known for high quality extended batteries that are OEM size.. I just picked up my BP E270 and I must say I'm already used to the (very little!) extra thickness - so now to know I could have 2000mAH in the same package - is almost too good to pass up.... Have to save up some more $ though, they aren't cheap and I just shelled out $90 for this one!

Actually this isn't true unfortunately. I just measured the thickness of my diamond with the BP E270, and it comes in at 14mm exactly, whereas the dimensions from the link you provided for the Mugen Powercell 2000mAH come in at 17mm. So the Mugen comes with a 3rd party cover, or at least, a bigger cover than the official extended battery.

I just spoke with mobilefun.co.uk on the phone and they were incredibly helpful and nice. They said they'll call back after they check the warehouse ... and they did! They actually measured the whole thing and described the battery and the back case! this is what they said:
The Diamond with the new battery and cover is about 17 mm thick (you were right).
They said the battery is indeed of high quality and that if i'm not happy with the performance then they will offer a full refund or an exchange.
The battery is about 9.5-10 mm thick and pretty hefty they said.
The back cover is not the original HTC BP E270 but hear this: the cover is all flat along the TD (not like the ones with a hump where the battery is) and feels solid and high quality. I actually prefer a flat back-cover so that the TD becomes more usable when sitting on a desk.
The camera hole is a conic inset and he said it should not cause any bottom shades in pictures from the looks of it (like some of the hump covers do).
All in all, it sounds good to me but I'm eagerly waiting for liamhere's feedback and pictures

I found yet another one, straight from Mugen Power which looks even better. I posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=2740174

Solution for 1800mAh battery and GPS

Hi guys,
I bought the extended 3rd party 1800mAh battery for Diamond and as discussed many times here in the forum, the GPS was unusable with it.
But after some research I found the solution to our problem:
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=84581&st=740&p=2277790&#entry2277790
Its in russian, but you can see at least the pictures:

This is a piece of cooking aluminum foil fixed with scotch tape right of the camera lenses.
I just tried it and the result is amazing - GPS works as with the original slim battery. I think the foil works as a shield of the battery and helps receiving GPS signal.
Very cool.. anyone else tried this various branded batteries?
I have the official HTC 1340mAh battery and GPS works fine without anything... but would be interested in a longer battery if this actually works for others.
Thanks!
low budget fix is pretty awesome
I've got a Cameron Sino branded battery , and this fix works smooth ! Thx for sharing the info !!!

Got the official 1340 battery and GPS was intermitant for me, tried this and works a treat
Cheers
This is so cool! Works very well!

Well that because the BPE270 is an official htc battery the gps would work fine. This fix is for people who have opted to use non htc extended batteries like the mugen batteries which have had confirmed problems with gps. My BP E270 works great without the foil, but my 1000mah mugen battery requires the foil. I have noted that the foil gets me a quicker gps lock with my other batteries as well.
GENIUS!
Thank you lots. You guys rock!
I did it but i still have the same problem. I've got a Cameron Sino branded battery. What else can i do?
Is the piece of foil stuck down between the battery and phone or is it just a piece of foil on top of the area above the battery?
Wow that great
I just put in the massive Cameron Sino (RoHS) 2400ma battery, and as expected without the foil couldn't get any Sat’s but after putting this postage stamp size piece of foil on it can get them ok.
I’m now wondering if I could improve reception even further if I put even more foil in perhaps either side of the cameras iris, or all around the battery except near the contacts ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Answer to my own question :- I removed the previously suggested postage stamp sized foil and just put foil around the battery allowing it to come into contact with the metal plate that is beneath the battery compartment. Doing this it did not find any Satellites, so no improvement is likely, I will revert to just putting foil in as suggested on the 1st message i cant beat it.
i use 1850MHZ replacement battery. The manufacturer has already consider this. looks the same as this solution. GPS works fine and the phone looks like a touch pro
Add the code "BAT30" for 30% off, and of course Free Next Day Shipping...$35 plus Tax, pretty good deal I thought...
I got it yesterday and fully charged it last night...
I will run it all day today and see how long it lasts, hopefully into tomorrow
Reporting back later on how long it lasts..
Also, I really like the texture of the new back cover
Just FYI
Nice thanks, il be getting that. Can definitely come in handy.
Mine came yesterday, its actually a 2150 not 2100. i havent been able to fully charge it yet but I have been using it on 3 notches for a while. it seems to be performing better honestly. 8i hate the cover for the extended battery though, it takes awat from the look of the phone with the boring gray cover
Dang, I didn't even notice that, you are correct, it is 2150mAh...
Eh, rear cover is a rear cover, I like how it feel though...I had a XV6800 with an extended battery from Seidio that feels kinda like this
Don't get me wrong Seidio makes good stuff, I just couldn't wait any longer for the bigger one they are going to sell...
Thanks for the heads up on the discount - just ordered one!
I ordered one for myself today with the phone. I am hoping that the device gets better battery life than my Imagio and if thats the case I might be able to get a full day use out of a battery for the first time since I owned a Dumb Phone. lol
So far so good with this battery Used it all weekend and it lasted pretty good
I have been using the phone with the battery since I received my phone and have to say I love it. I am actually able to get through the day without having to use the charger until about 5:00PM-6:00PM (which is great for me) and even more so I love the way it feels in my hand now, it feels allot more solid and allot more comfortable in hand.
Still in stock here......
Does anyone have a picture they can post. I would like to see it. The last extended battery i use was for a 6700 and after about 3 month i hated how extra bulky it made the phone.
Sure, I will post a pic tonight....
Does it make the phone alot bulkier the phone is pretty bulky as is
i just went back with my regular stock battery. i couldnt stand that bulky and ugly cover anymore...im going to just stop using my phone like a little kid all day.
i was so happy to have a new phone and i wore it out all day, that excitement has wore off now so my battery life should be better considering i wont be using it as much
smh @ the extended battery cover
What's the battery life like?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
i only got it yesterday, so it will have to go through a few charge/discharge cycle before i can comment.
brief info on the amount of power in the battery with it's first charge.
when i got the battery, it had about 76% power in it, it took about an hour to full charge.
i had the phone on till now with wifi turned on, apart from about 4hours without wifi connected (wifi is still on at all time on the phone), its roughly about 28 hrs now and i still have 64% power left in my phone.
while wifi is on, it auto checks for email every 15minutes and with the little internet browsing.
update: 38hrs with 16% power left. (moderate use of internet browsing)
update approximate 40 hrs with 4% power left, before i charged the phone.
that sounds good. I've ordered one myself and was send today.
this is one good extended battery worth checking out
the extended battery cover + stand makes a really nice appear, specially because it's shiny
i havent seen those before, looking at the name seems like a brand from china.
Well, I gotta say these 1900mAh batteries caught my eye, and I decided to take a chance at buying one of them. For barely 7€ it ain't that much of a risk anyways. I'll keep you guys updated whenever I get it (max 30 days according to the vendor).
I'm still interested in the Momax one tho, the back plate is the only extended one that hasn't made my eyes bleed so far and 2700mAh must be sweet.
Desktop Cradle with ability to charge spare Anker/Chichitech
I'm looking for a cradle with an extra battery charging slot that can hold the Anker or Chichitech extended batteries. The cradle I got off the Mugen site has a slot that is only thick enough for the standard battery. The Chichitech and Anker batteries are the slightest bit thicker, and won't slide into the battery charging slot. My HD2 cradle allowed the spare batter to lay flat behind the phone, so I'd imagine that style would fit the extended batteries.
With my current cradle, I can't charge the Chichitech/Anker batteries outside of the phone unless I use the travel charger.
Bumperoo...anybody know of a cradle that can support an Anker or Chichitech battery?
Gracias.
Yeah, I have a cradle currently that taught me that lesson the hard way. It isn't labled "Kidigi," but it looks the same, and I'm betting it came from the same factory.
My problem with kpjimmy's referral is that I tend to avoid buying products from web sites that I've not heard of before. I'll probably try to find kpjimmy's pictured dock on Amazon or eBay (as if that were more reputable) and buy it from there.
Galaxy S4 battery case...
Galaxy S4 will do good job on battery improvement with higher power capacity,yet the bigger size screen will run more on battery, so the battery issue will be another question,if there is an need to get a back-up replacement battery or a battery back cover case...?
im hoping the battery will last a while in the s4 but if not i still have my RAVPower® 10400mAh because i know my HTC battery didn't make the cut. i dont think i will be buying a bigger case im going to try and keep the S4 as slim as possible. might just get a spare battery just in case though for those long road trips
It doesn't matter besides it's normal.
Seems a back-up power bank could be a top device...
Its depend on the useage. Otherwise its Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery is enough to give the good backup. Any how if you need to check more backup , check once in Fommy. They have some good solutions for battery backup. This is the confident after getting their services fro my Galaxy S3.
Andida 2300mah Battery cheap, more suitable
im getting this original spare battery pack with charger / desk stand, it can charge phone and battery at the same time.
If Samsung releases an extended battery we will make a case for it just like we did for the S3.
That is why we only make cases for official extended batteries, the third party ones are hideous looking and extremely large. Sammy's extended S3 battery retains the thin design of the phone, hopefully they'll release a similar product for S4 (and not a year later this time)
I was looking at a case similar to that, my only concerns is that it doesn't seem to protect the screen very well, which is what a case is suppose to do. And it seems like it would be harder to press the power/volume buttons since you have to reach around the edge of the case. I like the Exolife case and the Incipio offGRID case, but they seem too expensive, but might be the only viable option for protection.
If you want a good battery.. get the Anker 5200 mAh battery for $20-24 on Amazon. You'll get 2-3 days of usage on it. I did a battery test last night and got 9 hours of screen time, continuously watching Netflix on my S4.
