16GB MicroSD HC cards? - Touch Cruise General

Hi all,
Just noticed that Sandisk has now got the first batch of 16GB MicroSD HC cards out. Anyone knows of any compatibility issue at all?
Thanks.

There are many threads about these. I just got mine and is working fine on Polaris except the camera doesn't recognise the 16gb capacity for some reason (only 4000 shots available at 3 mp instead of about 10000).

Just received my Sandisk 16Gb and am currently filling it up. No problems so far but I guess it's early days. Cannot decide whether to us the file encryption WM6 feature on it.... hmmmm

SDHC with Wizard?

Hi,
Although this question has been put up many a times but I don't see a conclusion in any of the threads. Can someone give a finite answer to the SDHC support in Wizard? (Y/N)?
Did anyone try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345038&highlight=sdhc+patch
Thanks.
WIZA200 (HT622)
TNT 1933 ROM
Yep, tried it and it didn't work. I couldn't even read my existing 2Gb SD card
There seems to be conflicting information - some say it is just a driver issue, others say the Wizard's hardware can't support SDHC. I have searched and searched and it does seem that either the Wizard's hardware can't support SDHC or there simply hasn't been a driver written that supports it. Either way it doesn't work currently.

Depends from what you really want to achieve bottom line .. I have a 4GB card working perfectly smooth. Not sure, but I guess it is not a SDHC card. So is it really the SDHC you are looking for, or rather "just" a large sized card?
If you want I could check for the supplier.

Are you talking about 4GB mini SD Card? where did you get it? I am not talking about SDHC. I got 4GB HCSD but I never have a change to make it works with my Wizard.
Yes, bottomline is that 2 GB is not enough and I am seriously looking for high capacity cards. I came to know that all the cards above 2GB are SDHC (as on sandisk and sdcard.org websites).
If you know of a 4 GB card that is non-SDHC and is working well, please do send me the supplier details. I am based in India so need to check if he can ship overseas.
Thanks.
Right now I have an authentic 4 GB SDHC card from Transcend.
Till now I have tried all the patches/drivers available here for SDHC but couldn't make this to work. I even checked after formatting the the card in FAT16.

Here is the one I bought. It is NOT SDHC, but has a 4 GB size. Unfortunately this link is to a German eBay shop:

Hope this will help you in possibly finding a supplier in India!

Sorry for the huge link, I dont even know if it will work so lemme know. If it does, all of that guy's 4gb mini-SD cards are non HC. From what I have read, "Topram mini-SD 4gb" cards from a certain batch are non HC and work with the wizard. I ordered one from the person in the link and it has been working fine so far. Hope this helps.
Is there a difference between the cards themselves or is it just the formatting?

the formatting and the hardware logic is different. there are differences internally, but externally they appear to be the same.

Maximum MicroSD capacity?

What is maximum microSD capacity that works with Touch Cruise aka Polaris.
I know people use 8GB but I was wondering could I use 16GB?
anybody tried it?
Thank you!!
over 2 gb it requests an SDHC driver, this is for the elder HTC versions,
The polaris/touch cruise do have the SDHC driver installed,
so it should recognize any microsd.
thank you for the answer.
I have 4 GB microSD card so I know it works. I also know 8 GB works because a lot of people here says that they use it.
I'am planning to buy 16 GB microSD card but I want to know for sure it works.
I ask this because from what I know some cameras or card readers have like 8GB limit or 4GB limit.
so I would like that somebody confirm, from it's own experience that it works.
Thank you
can just confirm that 8gig are working fine.

in those cases I always buy stuff at eBay or our local store with the assurance of returning the product. So buy and try. If it fails just return it.

OTA update resolved my sdcard issue

Just an fyi, I purchased the class 6 64gb card from Best Buy a while back and received the class 10 like everyone else. I knew it wouldn't work but held onto it anyway. Formatted to EXFAT after receiving the latest update and it's working great now. I haven't tried a file over 4gb yet but everything else is working perfect.
yep, this has been mentioned in the other OTA and Jelly threads. I tried a 7gb file and it worked.
Sadly, the OTA has not fixed my SD Card issue with the SanDisk Class 10 64GB card.
I am able to format it exFAT only with my Macbook. Does anyone think this will have any bearing on why my card still does not work in the Infinity?

When you say it's not working, what's happening? Does it work in other devices?
Yes, my SDXC 64GB Sandisk card works great in my Retina Macbook, Galaxy S3 and I just took the card into Bestbuy to try it on a Galaxy Note 10.1. All work perfect as advertised without problem nor error.
The card will not mount in the TF700T. Others are still having this problem too.
Asus customer service just got back to me stating that SDXC cards are not supported by the TF700T. Imagine that - flagship Android tablet doesn't support the best microSD cards. Who would have guessed!
Overnight of my new Note 10.1 is on the way!
I'll have a near brand new (1.5 weeks old) TF700T, with micro 32GB SDHC card and brand new case for sale soon

Seems a bit strange, as the TF201 could use the 64 Gb Class 10 MicroSD card just fine... I hadn't in any way expected that the newer model wouldn't support a card that was working fine in a previous model...
Yeah, it sucks.
Here is the reply that I got from Asus Technical Support not too long ago today.
Dear valued customer
Thank you for contacting ASUS Technical Service
Hi.We support SDHC for 32g,only A66 for SDHC 64G,and all of the products doesn't support SDXC.

when you went to best buy, did you try the card on the Infinity they had there?

i have a 64gb class 6. and i had issues with it prior to the update. Those issues are no longer there. I can now format my card to exfat and transfer files to and from it, within the device, without it rebooting or freezing.
No, they didn't have a TF700T on display for use otherwise I would have.
I dont believe its a problem with my specific device because others are still expressing the same problem on here too.
And my 700 works great with non-SDXC cards, but I ordered the $60 XC card so it need to work with that!
Mine still doesn't work unless its fat file system. Ntfs and exFat only allows me to use 400mb out of 32gb. I'm using 32gb sandisk SDHC card. This is ridiculous. How do they make products worse as new ones come out.
Update: Nevermind I was formatting on my Mac, had to use diskpart on my win7 PC to get it working. Issue has been resolved. Wifi copy to SD card is still slow but I guess has nothing to do with formatting. Also tried copying a 12GB mkv file and that worked as well. Thanks ASUS!!!

That is strange no doubt. When. I said my issues were resolved I was referring to the use of a MICROSDXC 64gb Class 10 card. I wonder why it works in mine and not yours. Wait, you said you're formatting on a MacBook? I think that's your problem looking at one of the responses here.

Good points guys, BUT that same formated card in OSX (exFAT) worked in my Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 with no issue. My other card, 32GB SDHC, formated in my Mac and worked just fine in the TF700T.
I have also tried formatting the card in those working Android devices and then putting it back in the TF700T with no joy.
Obviously I am not able to format the card in OSX to NTFS....
At one point I thought that formatting it in OSX might be the problem, but I dont believe so any more. I dont have any Windows or Linux boxes anymore so I guess I'm out.

[Q] Memory Card For Galaxy Core

Hey Friends!
I am planning on buying Core in a few days time but wondering about the Class of memory card best for it.
I have heard about class10/UHS class 1 cards being non compatible for some devices, so thought I did better ask the present users if anybody is using it and if yes, are there any issues?
No issues. Working fine

Great!
Gonna go with sandisk 16GB UHS 1 card for now!! and Thanks again! :good:
I bought Transcend 32gb UHS-I memory card.
Problem is I cannt meassure speeds above 12mb read and 7mb write.
Core is not supporting NTFS, only FAT32
Anybody else?
Just to inform, problem is solved.
Now my card is R:15mb and W:13mb

SD cards

Recommendations would be most appreciated.
I got a SanDisk 128 GB and it has been working great so far.
The Samsung pro plus or sandisk extreme pro lines are what you are looking for. Enjoy

I would recommend you Samsung MicroSDXC 64GB PRO Memory Card. Also other Samsung cards are great.
Very good read/write speeds.
I put a Lexar 128 GB 1000x in my MXP and it is functioning great.
I'm considering purchase of this phone - sounds like support for a micro SDcard works well, so is there any benefit to buying the 64 or 32GB internal storage models vs. the 16GB model? I can capture video and do TWRP backups to the (relatively inexpensive) SDcard, so what am I missing on a cheaper 16GB phone?

Is the Moto X a UHS-I or UHS-II compatible host device? The extra cost of these higher-end sdcards would be wasted otherwise, correct?
Edit - I googled this topic and found this post: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/8cda627ead . In short, it confirms that the Moto X benefits from / takes advantage of a UHS-1 U3 microSD card. @EmperorX makes a good suggestion.
I still want to know if I really want to spend extra for a 32 or 64GB Moto X, given that I can buy a 32GB UHS-1 U3 card for US $15.
Both cards are UHS-I class U3
It does support uhs-1 from what I've read. We'll see, my wife's card gets here on Wed and I'll test out. Sandisk extreme pro.
Edit:
I see you've read what I read.

If there's a good Android M ROM available yet, see about formatting it as phone-specific "internal" storage... See: https://www.androidpit.com/android-m-release-date-news-features-name#performance

Problem
and what the maximum amount of the SD card can be used as system memory? I have a card to 64GB, and when you try to make it a system unit for a long time it formats, but it is empty and then says that the card is damaged, but if you use it like a regular card, it works fine and displays. Do not tell me what could be the problem?

Can you report on the relative performance of your higher-end microSD card vs. the internal storage? For example:
compare the time it takes to do a TWRP backup of the whole phone to internal vs. the microSD card
Capture full QHD video directly to the microSD card
etc.
Thanks!

I use a 32gb Samsung Pro+
I've got a generic 32gb class 10 and I have it as internal and its really laggy when I use Facebook, twitter etc so at the moment I just chuck my games on there. If I get a San disk extreme or pro will that eliminate the lag?

Maybe... But don't expect it to. Internal memory is much faster than even the fastest SD card. If you must use your SD card as internal storage for apps due to space, then move low usage apps to external card and heavy use ones to internal

I would like to know this too. There was some user who was successfully using a 200gb card in his phone. But since then I havent read of anyone else doing it. It would be great if we could use a 200gb card in our phone. Someone who is using it, kindly give your feedback.

Probably me, I have a Sandisk Ultra 200GB card. Works fine, no issues at all, ends up around 180GB usable. I've formatted it in both ext4 and exfat, both work fine. I did some benchmarks in another thread around here somewhere. Any questions, feel free.
