Guys,
I`ve installed some modified manilla on my HTC HD (got it from xda some thread don`t remember exactly) and now my phone pad keyboard got screwed in a minor but sick way.
The thing is that the voice/ video call button from left right got a text on it (Call Hi..)[exactly links to call history.]
i`ve trued factory default hard reset but the problem did not solved.
I really want that button to work as it was meant to, so i`m asking u any kind of help u can get.
i think some manilla from the original files was screwed.
The first option will be not to modify the original ROM.
curently using rom: 1.19.70.1 WWE from 11/24/2008
hey
its a fault of the original rom ur using, i had the same thing before i upgraded to official 1.56 rom, so if you wanna fix it i suggest you go to HTC site and download it. It also gives better gps performance etc.
Sorry but i can not upgrade from site.
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
i get this by using my phone Sn.
any other way i can get the rom file?! The original upgraded one, no alteration with out interacting with htc.com

Hi i recently puchased a O2 XDA11s that has been upgraded to WM6.5 pro by Xplode. Trouble is 5 min after i turned it on it had a white screen with a message thanking me for using the beta version and saying it has expired.
The whole thing then looks up. A hard reset will repeat the process. It will go into boot loader mode but have been unsucessfull in making any changes.
Any way to fix this???
I am a newby to this so use simple words please.
cheers Robert
Welcome to the forum
Perhaps that ROM has a time bomb
Have a deep read here and perhaps you have to change your ROM

I had the exact problem with my X7500 Advantage. The ROM installed is no good as it is timed to expire.
You just have to find another ROM from a different ROM cook. Search the forums on xda-developers.
hi guys thanks for the comments. I will read (study) the link. I should have added that the whole thing seems to work ok if I just set the date wrong.
the rom data is 6.5.21wwe, r 1.12.00, 133.47 if that helps identify the version loaded
cheers Robert
You are using an old sys version that had a timebomb. Just update to a newer version. Most of the builds from the past month have the timebomb removed.
go groove they need this
Yeah xplode's old roms all stop working after a while. Try using the new R7 release
thanks guys, can anyone provide a link to one of the later versions without the timbomb please, the only ones I can find are back in march on pliny.
cheers Robert
Hi,
I have a Dutch HTC diamond 2 and would like to flash the ROM to get windows 6.1 to work in English. I have never done this and have a couple of small questions i hope you guys can help me with. I have read some guides and i think i understand what i need to do:
1. install hard-spl 2. find a ROM (i will use a signed one) and install 3. update radio ROM if required.
The only thing im concerned about is i read in some places that i will lose my phone operator and MMS settings in the process - (i am on the dutch vodafone network). Can someone please advise me what details i need to record before flashing the ROM or if there is a program that can do this for you as i want to be able to easily use my phone without going back to vodafone afterwords!
Finally i would appreciate advice on a good ROM to use and a good radio ROM if anyone has this.
Thanks in advance!
hi,
Check theis thread out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509708
Its here you find the anser relating to you model of phone.
As for the operator settings - these are easy to put back, if the ROM does not do it for you.
I think all ROMS asr great in there own right - so try one, and if this does not suit your needs then flash another.
Good luck

I have Verizon version of Touch Pro2, have few questions.

2. How do I change the contact view? Currently they appear as Last Name, First Name. How do I change it to First Name, Last Name.
3. Does FM Radio work on Verizon version?
I may sound n00b but please help me

To answer your questions in the order asked....
1) No you do not have to upgrade your radio...I didn't and have been flashing roms for over a year on the TP2 with no issues.
2) Use trinfix. It removes duplicate contacts and other items, but it also has an option to change the contact view to "First Name, Last Name" (Cab is attached) Make sure that you have the “.NET 3.5 CF” on your mobile phone.
3) The answer is absolutely not. The radio hardware is not there on the Verizon Touch Pro 2.
Hope this helps.
hey thanks a lot. i have fixed the contacts view issue n thanks for the other issues as well.
Glad I could help.
please anyonehi all, this may seem a ridiculous question, but does anyone have the htc keyboard 2.1 cab with arrows? i have looked everywhere on ths forum, can't seem to find one! i have the version 2.0, but that does not offer improved landscape support and better arrangement of keys. i have tried downloading some on these forums and google search but they dont work and freezez my phone and i have to hard reset. i also have used a few roms, they include version 2.1, but unfortunately the rom doesn't suit my needs.
also is there any way to actually get the keyboard button to vibrate then you tap them?, is there perhaps any registry hack? pleaded could someone please post working cab version for our devices!
cheers!
Hi to just finish off on this post, i have solved this problem wayyy back in September, but thought i'd like to share with you all the .cab

Try that cab. It says it is for a specific phone, but it should work on any HTC phone. It uses Chinese, but if you don't need it then just switch to English mode and forget Chinese. Install on the internal memory, and don't forget that it's official HTC software, not regular software: uninstall requires a hard reset.

Sorry if i didnt make myself clear. My version i have DOES support landscape mode, BUT the arrangement if keys arent as advanced as the newer version (on the hd2) and other cooked roms. That is version 2.1, the main update being improved support of landscape and newer word dictionary. Thanks alcataras for your help and contributin anyway!
Anyone else please?

Well, as I don't have that phone, it's impossible to verify. However, it is official HTC software so should work on any phone. The hard reset is only if you decide that you want to uninstall - it's system software so uninstalling it leaves your phone with no way to input words, so the system won't boot. It's the best solution available.
I have actually solved this problem months ago, i have found the working cab. i will change title post, and attach cab to OP

if you use a SENSE Rom with installed HTC Keyboard and you install a another HTC Keyboard = your phone will not boot! the only solution= hardReset!
before install a another HTC Keyboard, install Default InputMethod (select your default Keyboard when WinMo starts) and select a other keyboard as standard (not htc keyboard) then install htc keyboard

yeh, if you have another ROM with Htc keyboard in it, and you install it your phone won't boot. but that is with oem software. this is custom modded. It will not brick your phone. Anyway, why would anyone want to install this HTC keyboard over another HTC keyboard? It will set itself as the default keyboard anyway so it is all ready to go. The only thing that doesnt work is vibration.
