System Info App and HomeScreen

Hello
This is my first post in this very handy forum.
I recently bought a HTC S710 with WM6 personal installed.
I wrote software for Pocket PC before. so i had to try this to...
Here are some results.
MobySys:
a application that has some system info, such as battery, signal strength,
Wifi status, bluetooth status and gprs status.
For wifi and bluetooth are functions implented to switch on and off
MobySys plugin:
This a homescreen plugin
These two apps mainly do the same
accept the gprs status is left out.
Also funtions to switch wifi and bluetooth on and off.
This is my first release and is still in beta but close to a release candidate.

Copy .cab files to your phone and execute them from the phone...

A homescreen plugin is made with the visual studio and the smartphone sdk from microsoft installed.
Then this homescreen is made in C++ because a plugin is basicly a COM-plugin
if you installed the SDK look for the HomeScreen sample in your SDK directory.

Sorry but I meant how do you put this homescreen plugin in the first screenshot on your homescreen. And to be more specific, what do you put in the homescreen's xml in order for the plugin to show up?

i really like the look of this....i have the same question.....how do i get the plugin to display in the today screen without using Facade like in your screenshot?
any way of hgetting it to work on the default themes?

This software called SmartToolkit, it adds a lot of functionality to your smartphone, and it's free

Nice! Is this compatible with Landscape Smartphones (Excalibur)..installed the 2 CABs then edited my XML Homescreen and inserted the XML Code for that plugin but still doesn't appear.

You just need to open the theme you want to edit and add in the xml code. I would change the theme name in the xml code itself and then you need to save it as xxxxx.home.xml (xxxx being whatever you want to name it)
This is my today screen, I am using an HTC s630 (This is 2 screen shots pasted together). I might try this add on, but I will reduce the icon size from 32 to 16.
I also like the system info app that comes with Resco File Explorer.

Windows Mobile 6.1 + Rinku's Iconbar only
These are my Slide Themes. The first five are installed as one package. It's called Slide Custom. For the different Wallpapers you have to choose the right ColorScheme!
Now there is a new approach. I created a theme called "Slide Own Wallpaper" where you can easily switch backgrounds. For this theme you have to put two pictures in "\My Documents\My Pictures" called portrait.jpg and landscape.jpg! The default color scheme is black, but you can choose the others like Red, Blue or Brown etc...
The last one is distributed separately, because it was made on request.
For the Call Screens and Branding Brick install the cabs from the zips! Download them all from the link to MediaFire below!

I've got Rinku's Icon Bar Installed, so is it just a matter of installing the cab or do I have to install the Icon Bar files from your zip to get it to work?

OH I forgot to mention that this is WM 6.1 only.
If you have that just copy the file to your phone and open it, but you need a registry editor installed on your phone too.

The reg file has been put into my documents on my phone but i cant find a way to add it to the reg :S maybe i'm just being really dumb with this!
(PHM regedit is installed also)

Let me guess, you had iconbar already installed? If yes use my version, it's newer with transparent iconbar.

did i understand right ?
is this the theme we know from wm 6.1 smartephone ?
ps. i don´t want this battery and wifi icon. is it include or not ?

This is made for a HTC Vox with Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. I'll upload one without Rinku's iconbar. See my first post.

i cannot see the /windows folder of my vox (wm6.1 of dr. gonzo) can you help me? i have all files and folders shown.

When you try it under Windows the folder is hidden. You have to make hidden folder visible!

Thank's for this great HomeScreen, I'm using it now. Just need some Mac icons for the panels and plugins and the HomeScreen will be complete.

i have no icons in the iconbar. it is completely invisible. i think if i press the button in the middle of the nav-button (the one with the arrows) it just opens my regedit (wm6.1 dr gonzos) and does not inlcude the keys, could that be?

1. has there been icon sets created for WM 6.1? is it even possible?
and 2. i'm not a big user on appointments, is there a way we can remove that and put in Live instead?

Hello,
I'm trying to get 2 or 3 lines in welcome screen to get the next task or appointment.
I tried with Advanced config but it's not working so far.
Any idea ?

got it working with mixing in some manila 2.1 files. got some bugs however, like not being able to change the wallpaper through standard menu (only hdwalls works) ...

Did a little more finetuning and attached the files you need to customize the home-tab like on the screenshot. Install "cmE Home Tab Appointments.cab" and restart sense afterwards to get the new homescreen. "home_tab.zip" contains the same files, in case you want to edit or copy them yourself.
note: this is NOT bugfree, since I couldn't decompile the original lua script without errors, and couldn't find any help on this. BACKUP ORIGINAL FILES BEFORE REPLACING.
known bugs:
can't change wallpaper anymore. use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511 HDWalls to work around this.

Not bad but you have to configure everything using the new manilla file.
Max is 2 appointments .

This is excactly what I was looking for as well, great, hope there will be a bug free solution soon. It's really important for me to see multiple appointments.
The solution in the post directly above this seems not favourable...

of course people will have to report bugs they encounter, since everything is running right for my needs

- You posted two captures, one with weather on the right top, and another one without weather. Which one would we get if we install your files ?
- Is it necessary to edit your files to customize the language ? I'd like to get this interface fully in french.

1. It's the second screen.
2. No need to edit any language files. All the files (except 1 XML file for the date - but you don't need it) are language independent.
3. No. I've used Manila 2.1 scripts to show more appointments. I wasn't able to fully decompile the original manila 2.5 files and didn't get any answers to my pm's. As the shortcuts-part was one of the crippled ones, when decompiling, there is no possibiliy to use shortcuts.

have a look at the MaxManila Ultimate v 2.6 beta theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551489. Look for post numner 4, there is the cab file.

Panoramic LaunchPad. If the Sense shortcuts aren't enough.

I just installed an application launcher called "Panoramic LaunchPad".

I use it for my games so when I press the LaunchPad shortcut in Manila Sense I get a nice page with all my games.
The default LaunchPad icon is a rocket but I changed it into a games icon instead since I use it for games only.

And here are three examples of what it looks like. You can have between 12 and 35 icons per page depending on the icon size.
When Lanchpad is launched you can slide left or right to get ANOTHER 12-35 icons. That's up to 70 icons in total!!
I've only used it for about an hour so I have no idea about how stable it is or if there are any bugs. I was just looking for an application launcher for my games and this is what I found. If you know other programs that do the same I would be very interested in trying them out.

I used Panoramic Launchpad for a while, it is stable and works fine. I removed it though because it's designed as a replacement for the start menu I think. Whenever I pressed start on top left instead of WM default it brought up Launchpad. That was fine for a while, but I went back to normal start menu. Prefer the look of the default. One thing that is good about the launchpad is you can shortcut to folders too.

A shortcut to folders, that would be nice.

Yes, that was the default behaviour after I installed it too. I didn't like it so in the settings I just "Set Start Menu icon" to "off" which removed that feature

Just set "Show name:" to "Off" in the Options menu inside Panoramic Launcher.

I didn't realise you could change the settings so it doesn't overwrite the default start menu. Might give it another go then, and use it for a games folder or something like you have. Guess I should of played around with it more. Bought it ages ago from the Marketplace.

Top Right `X`
Don’t use the top Right `X` sure it closes LaunchPad ok but then you will find the X that used to access Task-manager from your Toutchflow is now permanently disabled or at least until you do a power down!
Also Launchpad does not have this X to access Task-manager . . . so how do you see which Apps are running, and close any while Launchpad is running

Well that was a waste of $3.00...when I try to edit an icon I get the following message.
Unable to edit shortcuts for Android Home, if you are editing Open Home, you MUST install Open Home first. The easy solution is just uninstall BetterCut and then reinstall it (without uninstalling Open Home)
I do not have open home. I am just trying to edit my icons.

BetterCut is 1.99, does not require open home. Not sure what you're referring to.

$1.99 plus tax. When I run the program and select create short cut that is the message that I get.

I get the same message when trying to use bettercuts. Quick question are you using launcher pro or adw launcher?

I have the ADW Laucher and used that but got that error. I also used HTC Sense and got the same error.

for those of you getting that error, you have to add the shortcut as an activity (give it a minute to load the activity) then select the one you want. Bettercut doesnt play that nicely with Sense, but you can get everything to work.

Thanks for the reply. I did not know that you had to create them new. I thought you could edit the ones that you already had. I have created the new ones and just deleted the ones I did not want. Love the icons.

Ok now I have created new icons and when I try to use them I get the message the linked program is no longer installed on your phone....I long held on the main screen selected short then picked better cut then selected activity and scrolled down until I found messages and that is the one that I used. I just clicked on change icon and picked a new icon. What am I doing wrong?

for the apps that it gives you that message (its something to do with HTC programs) you'll have to install folder organizer lite. Use better cut, select other shortcut (or whatever the option is) then select folder organizer item, then go to apps and select the app you want. You'll then be able to select the icon and it should work. a lot of hassle i know...but it works!

Thanks alot. Worked perfect with the exception of Messages. I go through these steps and after I create the shortcut and go back to the main screen the new icon is there for like 3 secs then it reverts back to the orignal one.
