How to put app shortcuts from storage card to wm6 "Programs" folder

What do you have to to do make programs appear on the "programs" menu in wm6? I installed a new ROM and have soem apps installed in the storage card that I would like to put back under the programs section.
Thanks in advance
You have to create a shortcut to the app that you want, and then copy it to /windows/start menu/programs

Or, if you have installed "Resco Explorer", tap and hold on the ".exe" file then select "Send to" -> "Start Menu as Shortcut". After add all the shortcuts, soft reset the device and the added shortcuts should go to "Start" -> "Programs", (otherwise, they are staying under "Start").
i have a very easy solution ;-)
(if you know how to do shortcuts on a Windows System)
Open 2 Windows with the explorer. With the one you go to the Mobile-Device/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/ - Folder
and the other one you go to the directory of your storagecard, where the exe of the program is.
now do it like in Windows.
Right click and Hold the exe-file, and drag&drop it to the other Window with Start-Menu open. And click "Create Shortcut here"
Here's a solution if you don't want to install a third party application or don't have access to activesync
Thanks to mobinauts for this.
i) Open your File Explorer (default application).
ii) Locate the application's .exe file that u wish to create a shortcut for (usually found in its application folder and also usually the most outstanding icon in that folder).
iii) Tap and hold on it and under the sub-menu that appears, tap 'Copy'.
iv) Go to 'My Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\' folder.
v) Tap and hold on an empty space and select 'Paste Shortcut'.
vi) U can then rename the shortcut file by doing a tap-and-hold on the file and selecting 'Rename' (e.g. 'Shortcut to Bejeweled.exe.lnk' to just 'Bejeweled.lnk' or just BW.lnk).
vii) Done = u should be able to access your application from the Start>Programs menu.

Getting programs on the today screen

I'm trying to get a program I installed to have a short-cut on the today screen. However, its not showing in the list under Start > Settings > Personal tab > Today
Is there any other way of getting a shortcut on the today screen, or getting a program to appear in the list of programs that can be selected from the settings menu?
Cheers!
James
Hi, you could manually create a shortcut of the program, and put it in the start menu, located under device/windows/start menu. You need a file manager to do this.
Bye.
Normaly you won't be able to make shortcuts on the today screen whith the method you want...
Some 3rd party apps whith Today plugins allow to add shortcuts to the plugin... Such a today plugin is shipped whith your PDA (if you have an original TC, not the O2 version...), the plugin is the HTC Home plugin which has a shortcuts tab. It allows for 9 shortcuts to be set.
If you find the HTC Home too bulky, there are always alternatives, like SPB Pocket Plus 4, Resco Toolbar (comes whith Resco Explorer), and so on...
Ahh... sorry, I misunderstood. I was thinking to the start menu.
Installed programs should appear in the startmenu automaticaly... atleast into the programs folder... If you want to add programs to the dropdown menu, then go to Settings -> Menu...

File icons in WM6.1

Hello all,
I just was wondering, is there a way to maken the file explorer in WM6.1 dispay large icons in stead of a list with file details?
Greetings, Joost
Install File Explorer Extension.Cab, reboot, open File explorer, tap the "Menu" softkey, go to "View Options" and then choose "Icon" on the list that appears. And I am of course assuming you have a touch screen device, but if you do not have a touch screen device, I don't think you should install it.

HTC TD2 Start Menu gone, Help

Hi,
i have htc td2 with wm 6,5 original rom,
after a soft reset, when i tap the start menu , i can not see any icon of programs. list is empty, there is only one icon which is Today icon.
can u help me?
thanks.
Or you try to install Total Commander and goto
\Windows\ directory
See if Startmenu is present, if not create that directory and within it you should see/create;
Program Files
Settings
Know that on all phones 'Settings' is empty!
Now set TC (I have TC set to Show Virtual 2 window Mode) in one screen to
*1 Windows\
and the other screen to
*2 Windows\Startmenu\Program Files\
Then search in TC for .exe to show all executable files..
Then press the little CTRL button below in TC and multiple select your desired programs.. Then goto Menu - File - Create shortcut(s)
Or if the above does not work, a hard reset is all that's left.
Success,
Senax

Here some executables to standard defaults
Here some executables WM5/WM6 to standard defaults;
Start Menu
Message Notifier
View Program Files; folderview.exe Unzip and put this file in you programs folder and you will be able to add it to htc home
View Settings; htcSettings.exe Unzip and put the file in you programs folder and you will be able to add it to htc home
I'll get back to you @ a later time (with more executables). First I need to dig into my database; I'm missing a few realy handy utils! BBL,
Thanks Senax for your advices, but I mean "Home" such as "Show Desktop" ... and notifier for "HTC Notifier" in top bar which is too bad to launch from top bar ...
Show DeskTop - Today Screen
Show Desktop cq Today Screen;
via PHM Tools .. zipped and I do not know if its complete/original
Though Desktop.exe does its job Plus all other utilities
Have a nice day,
