Hello people here.
I want to use the home/back buttons for different purposes, that they are designed for. I am using AEBPlus software. With this software I am able to map much more functions on these buttons, but the problem is,these buttons are doing designed functions(home/back) also after mapping even they are unbinded from the system and handled by AEBPlus,so one click means 1click function and home/back at the same time. Anybody knows, how to disable default functionalities?
Thanks for help.
I have AE Buttons to ramap PTT with a long press to activate voice command. I use a 1 press to bring down the Start menu. But it also remaps the "Home" key to do the same. They seem to be locked together. Any thoughts. The descriptions of the buttons in AE doesn't do them justice. Can't tell what is what.
my PTT and Home button are mapped as the same for some reason.
when i use AEBPlus, i can do 1-3 clicks on the PTT, but i cant do the PTT Hold for some reason. any ideas?

I have a Sprint Touch and it only has one hardware button that is customizable. I was hoping with HButton I would be able to map the Send and End key if I pressed and held these buttons to do different tasks.
Is this possible with this program? If not, is there a way to do it?
I've used this program for years but I'm having trouble getting it to work on my FUZE.
I searched the forums and found a few threads where people recommend it and said it worked great on their phone. I also read that the home and ok button's can't be re-mapped (well... they can... but it's bot practical).
So, I'm trying to re-map the send and hang up keys. I assumed the keys are the green and red phone keys listed within AE Button Plus. I edited those to do what I wanted and soft reset the device. Problem is, neither of the buttons do anything I told AE Button Plus to do. A long hold of the green phone button starts Voice Command. A long hold of the red phone button opens the "Long Press Red Key" application. I'm using NATF's 2.2 ROM (if that makes a difference).
I thought that maybe the FUZE has it's own button codes so I tried adding buttons. But clicking on the red or green phone button while the add a button window is popped up doesn't work.
How do those of you with your FUZE have AE Button Plus working with the phone hardware buttons? What am I doing wrong?
I have mapped the Green button with AEBPlus and it is working fine. For this button you don't need to use Add button function and I think, the Red button can be mapped same way.

You're right. I did some more testing and single, double, and triple presses work fine. The problem is, I can't re-map the long press'. Is it possible?

Try again to add the buttons, but this time hold the call and end buttons longer. It will only let u remap the long press. However it will also remap the PTT button. This is a problem for me. I have found a way to kinda cheat this though. I created the PTT_Long.lnk file in the windows directory. (You can find the directions somewhere here in the Rafael forums) Now my short press = camera and I can program the long press etc. And I can use AEBPlus to remap everything else.. Good luck..Hopefully AEBPlus will update their software to work with the Rafael...

It's still not working for me
If I press the green button too long it opens up a new windows with things like "Turn Airplane Mode on" and a few others being shown.
If I press the red button too long it starts Voice Command. If I press it any shorter then that it doesn't register as a new code within AE Button Plus.
I'm not sure what you did to get it working on your end... but I can't re-map the long press' of those buttons on my phone.
Maybe I need to disable the default long press commands via the registry?
remap soft keys on HOME screen of TF3D
I am using PI8 (pocket informant) as my contacts and calendar. I would like to remap the 2 soft keys that are currently going to "windows" version of calendar and contacts, to instead go to PI8 version of calendar and contacts.

Use advanced config and you can set them that way. You have to soft reset aftewards...

There is a new version of AEBPlus out, however it still doesn't get along with the Fuze very well. I Finally uninstalled it and am happy with short/long press only on the PTT. I also run GScroll and use it to double touch the capacitive screen to launch stuff...much better...
home soft keys for PI8
please explain where in Advanced config do I go to change a setting for the 2 soft keys for the home screen. I can't find anything. I found it in Diamond tweaks under 14.5 but it does not give me an option to select PI8.
The long keypress for Green button can be solved by standart button settings as a "Button1(Hold)". I have mapped for a longpress the phone interface that way(1click I use as Alt+Tab). I don't know about red button, because I use red button to instantly drop the call and this feature is missing in my version of AEBPlus and I don't need to upgrade.
I am looking to remap the <- key to be the "OK" button in WM. I don't use this key, and for the life of me can't think of a reason to, so it seems more intuitive to have it be the TPs "missing" button. TIA

Well, I'll start by saying there are several posts about the remap of buttons on xda. You should try searching first.
Anyhow, try AEBPlus and find those other posts which explain in detail how to remap (mostly the PTT button).. Good luck
tried searching but most info was for other devices, so I thought I would post here. I will give AEBPlus a shot. Thanks!

Unfortunately it appears (both from searching and from trying) that AE button does not work for the Home and Back keys on the TP.
I'm using it, wish they would update it to support the TP better. However, when mapping a new key, you have to hold the button down. this will show u the key code for that key, but it is only for long press. So this may be a partial fix. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to map the main function of that button. Maybe it's like the PTT and their is a file that is assigned to that key like the PTT_short.lnk ? Anyway good luck...hopefully someone will map these keys out or AEBPlus will update since the last update was in May 08...
What exactly are you trying to accomplish by mapping the back key to be "ok"? It essentially functions the same way, closing whatever window you're in and taking you ot the prior one.
I am looking for the ok/close feature I had on my i730. Using the back button allows the app I am leaving to continue to run instead of closing the program.

Why don't you just map the PTT to close? I presume you know how to remap the PTT button and here is a way to map it to 'close': http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=1249
I have no PTT button

Does anyone else have problems mapping the center D pad button of the touch pro using AEB Plus? I can map it ok for the double, triple and long press, but when I map it to anything, the single press (mapped to press "enter" or call default handler) doesn't work anymore... It seems to disable the main function of the center button (enter). It's a pretty important function to press enter so currently I can't map any other functions to the button, because the main one then becomes disabled... What am I doing wrong here? Reading some other posts on this tread, it seems like others were able to map this button successfully and still use the "enter" function. A specific sequence maybe? I've tried this with a couple different ROMS including the stock SPRINT ROM and I get the same results. Can anyone help? I should point out that I have a fully registered version, and I've been able to map the green and red buttons successfully.
I have it as following:
Handle by AEBPlus
Single press: Press Enter(third option)
Double press: Select all
Long press: Display off
That are all builtin features of AEBPlus,so no exe commands or applications.
And it works good.
that's what I mapped the single press to... I mapped double press to ok/close, triple press to close active application, and long press to psshutxp... when i do this, every press works except the single press! furthermore, it also disables the enter key on the slide out keyboard... I have the lastest build (2.6.5). Can anyone help? This is driving me crazy!!! I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling. For some reason when I reinstall, it seems to remember my previous settings...and course, it behaves the same way...
I know this topic has been covered - but that's the thing...it hasn't, that I can find. I see a dozen searches for this, all with responses saying "Try Vito ButtonMapper!" or "Try AE Button Plus!" Well, I've tried both.
AE Button creates a delay in any key I try to remap, so that the internet key (remapped to the Scroll Right button, since my normal Scroll Right button is ... broken) has a three-second delay after I push it until the button registers being pressed. So, AE Button is a no-go.
VITO is working much better, albeit it is far less functional in terms of those keys that can be remapped. But that's not my concern for my current issue. I'm using it right now, and it's screwing up my softkeys royally (and yes, I do know how to use the program properly, and so it's not just my ignorance to the different configurations).
So, can someone just give me a yes or no, without beating around the bush, on whether there is a direct registry key that can remap one button onto another? And, if there is, would anyone have any idea where I can find a list of keys corresponding to their respective registry values?
Thanksssssssssssssssssssss.
