I'm a nerd who wants to better his posture. I find myself slacking of and having really bad form. This is why I want to have a vibrating alarm that reminds me to sit or stand straight.
I want this alarm to repeat itself at a random interval of between 5 and 20 minutes and have a distinct vibration. I'd like for this alarm to not intervene with other alarms. Also, I'd hope to keep battery drain and performance impact to a minimum.
I was thinking of writing a Mortscript for this but I don't know the first thing about scripting just yet. I was wondering if there is existing software where I could set such an alarm. If not, are there alternatives to Mortscript which might be better suited?

Hi everyone,
So far I've found most of the Microsoft Windows Mobile apps sufficient, apart from a few small shortcomings. One of them is the unability to set the time for the reminder of a set task. If a reminder is set, it always goes off at 8pm, which is EXTREMELY annoying when it's Saturday and you want to sleep in!!
This seems to me just the thing that gets people away from Microsoft and over to Open Source.
It would be really helpful if you could set the time for the alarm just like when doing so for an appointment - why Microsoft didn't include it initially will probably remain a mystery... and why they set the default task alarm to 8pm even more so...
Anyway, does somebody know a way to fix this? Any help would be really appreciated!

Coming from a Nexus One with CM7 (*drools*) he had added in lots of additional options in the, I guess, stock alarm settings.
One being how long the phone would ring if you didn't get to it. I had it set to unlimited, which meant it would just ring and ring and ring and ring and ring until I woke up.
With the unmodified alarm, I'm finding that I'm waking up late, and the phone saying missed alarm. What good is an alarm you can miss?
Is there an alarm app we can replace our with from CM7 or something that has those options? I can't see it requiring any special kernel or hardware.
My alarm seems to go on forever unless I hit Snooze or Cancel.
^ same here. I had an alarm set for 5pm and was away from my phone. When I came back to it around 5:40 or so it was still going off. stock alarm
I use Alarm Clock Xtreme Free. Really good alarm app. I love it.

The options are sick.
Alarm Clock Xtreme - stupid name, excellent app. There are a ton of options, maybe bordering on too many (and I'm a "more options, please" kind of person). But it is the only alarm that has consistently been able to get my ass out of bed (and I've tried many). What works for me is setting it to require that I solve a series of math problems before I can dismiss the alarm, and setting a low max number of snoozes. If you're getting up to run first thing, you can set it to not dismiss until you reach a certain speed.
Looking back at what I've written, it seems ACX is the app to use if you hate your morning self and want to use cruelty to bend him to your will.

I use kaloer clock. Its free and very customizable. Also serves as a nice bedside dock clock with live weather animations. Give it a shot. You can set it to stay on for 999 minutes if you think that would help you.
Gentle Alarm if you're willing to pay.
I've been using Klaxon since the G1 and never had a problem, although some reviews in the market claim to have some issues. I think it is mainly because it doesn't get updated too much anymore, as it is written my the developer of ClockworkMod and RomManager seems to be much more lucrative.
Searching for this did not bring up anything useful, so I try to ask here. Hope this is the right forum.
I use the agenda alarms a lot, for everything, from "Budget meeting" to "buy milk" to "Phone Tom". But often I am far enough from my phone to miss the alarm sound, even if loud.
You know, if you then turn on the phone from standby, you find the appointment on screen, and you also have the possibility to repeat the alarm (5 minutes later I think) pressing the lower left button.
But if I do not turn on the phone because I don't need it, and don't remember that I have something to do... the appointment may be missed.
I wish to have a way to set an automatic repeat of every Agenda alarm, every 2-3 minutes, until I turn it off.
Someone knows a way, or an app ?
Thank you!

Forget doing challenges like math problems and solving puzzles to prove you're awake - what good does that do when you can easily go back to sleep right after taking a few seconds to shut off your alarm? If you're the kind of person who can hit the snooze button ten times in a row, you need something stronger to keep you awake.
Relentless alarm forces you to use your phone for a duration of time before the alarm can be shut off for good. Don't worry, you won't be disturbed by the alarm constantly ringing. You can use your phone in peace, but once you stop and let the screen go to sleep, the alarm will start ringing again. The idea is to force yourself to stay awake for some time so you won't feel as tempted to go back to sleep afterwards, and to let you spend your time productively or enjoyably in the manner you choose instead of making you solve non-stop math problems.
This method doesn't work well with apps that keep your screen awake, so please remove your temptation to cheat by blacklisting those apps in the settings.
