Hi All,
I have had my HTC Touch pro a few days and the following post is well because it bugs me.
Is it possible to scroll through your albums (not songs or playlist) in the media bit of the luvly today media scrolly type menu.
I can go to library and choose an album - then a track and scroll through up/down those and it all looks nice etc.
I can load all my songs into playlist whic is approx 1000 or so right now but they are in individual song, alhabetical order (rather clumsy) to scroll.
When in the library I choose albums or artist tab then try to go back to the today scrolly luvly screen it goes back to the album song that was chosen before.
I guess I have visions of something like Itunes albums thingy or the contacts bit on the Diamond/diamond pro.
So either way is it do-able as in I am doing something wrong or it it just not an option with this ROM.

I have the same "problem" From all the tinkering I have done trying to accomplish exactly what you are trying to accomlish. I assume it is "as designed" or a bug. Either way, my hope is that someone figures out how to tweak it to work.
I am not in love with Apple but one thing they got right was the ipod music organization (in my humble opinion)
not possible.

Thanks for the replies. Shame about the album scroll but at least it wasnt me being a muppet for a change.
Would have been real nice to press the back button to go from album tracks back to album list.
Hey Ho, I am sure some Uber clever person will come up with something in the future.
Otherwise I think the T-Pro is significantly better than the TytnII it has replaced. There are litlle nicieties I keep finding for example you can zoom in when using the camera on its highest setting and when doing a video clip!

I feel the same as you. I am still finding the improvements and have the faith someone will overhaul all th emusic stuff here anyway. We have just scratched the surface

Did a bit of scrutiny to the full PDF manual that it comes shipped with. On page 79 it clearly says that in the today screen - music tab you can scroll albums as well as songs in ablums?
I have sent an enquiry ticket to HTC to see if it is a print error or not.

I've been rather inactive on the forums lately (life is catching up with me ), and reading through a hundred extra pages doesn't seem logically fathomable for me to do.
A contacts app that matches the dialer app on the H build would be nice. But as far as usefull i cant think of anything right now.

well i upgraded myself from touchpro to g1 and one thing that i really miss is Flash player support and equalizers in music player.
guys pls do them. and i think that my voice will be echoed by many.
hoping that we will beat iphone iconic status one day as this plateform as enormous poential

any feature we want? how about if we tap the edge of the screen, a little virticle bar comes up on the side of the screen where we can control volume, and maybe on the other side of the screen, a bar to adjust the brightness. would be convenient, but there are volume buttons on the side of the phone lol, but still, some apps don't change the appropriate volume.
how about a seem edit to make the phone a little louder? i'm sure that it can get much louder. i dont know how throughly you can edit these builds.
will add stuff later.

I second that.... multi-touch, at least in browser, hopefully in maps as well.
Umm H build is perfect lol, but umm adding the multitouch code to the browser wont hurt.

THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN UNTIL ADOBE RELEASES SOMETHING. I don't think haykuro is offering to make new programs for you. Don't be stupid. He's asking you what he can do to the builds to make them better. For an example, like somebody mentioned a GOOD IDEA and SOMETHING HE CAN DO: MULTITOUCH. Because he can modify a few files and somebody has already done it in a previous build, thus he can do it in this build. Correct me if I'm wrong. My heck people, enough whining for things like Flash Players. Don't you think that if it was so easy to do, it would have been done before? Haven't you morons figured out that having a GOOGLE phone, you could simply use GOOGLE for searching? Wow, that's a crazy idea, right? Using Google? Half you numbskulls could find what you're actually complaining about if you used it.
If you loved your HTC Pro blah blah blah whatever the crap it was, use that phone and stop complaining and asking for things that aren't going to happen until Adobe comes out with it. Go bug Adobe for it. Or Google. No developer is going to do it for you.

Boy... I would like Flash too... lets hope Adobe pulls through with it's promise
this is a for fix for an issue I have not found elsewhere.
I have noticed with Bluetooth enabled listening to my A2DP headset (Plantronics A590)although the buttons on the headset work, they automatically start up the default music app when pressed... even if I am using another app.... So currently I am forced to use either the default music app, or use the controls on the phone not the headset.
Some sort of built in setting (like in open home or DXtop) to be able to select from multiple themes and icon sets and the ability to hide them in the drawer like open home.
an app switcher that can be re-located to the bar like in the app bar-control or can be used with a button combo.

i am a bit displeased with the HTC Music App for a single reason.
I do have a lot of interprets in my library. If i want to select an interpret at the end of the displayed list, i have to start a sliding orgy to get to the end of the list.
I wonder if there is a chance to get an 'Alphabet Silder' to the right like in the Contacts list of the Phone?

Keep wondering It is a miracle HTC hasn't implemented this kind of functionality in the music library, while they had a similar module for the contact list.
And i think that it can not be easily hacked in afterwards. Anyway, you can kick up your orgy experience (lol) a notch with a little tweak from the "leo hints and tips" thread:
51. speed Up Scrolling of Internet and People Tab, Album Page and All People PageS
You can speed up the speed of scrolling when you flick your finger by modifying the following registry tweak.
HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/HTCScroll/velocity_factor
Change to 20000 or higher. Experiment to what suits you.

Hi guys,
It'd be great if someone knew how to make an alphabet scroller for the music tab similar to the one in manila contacts. Only reason for this is becoz wen you have over 1000 songs its rather annoying scrolling to the bottom.
I asked that myself too, why isn't there a scroller???

take for example the hero. wen you begin to scroll a bar comes up out of the side which you can drag and it extends further with an alphabetical sorter...it shouldn't b that hard to make...i would do it except i wouldn't have a clue how

that would need a whole new app I'm afraid...
would it be like making a new tab for manila similar to the ebook one or the documents one or more difficult than that?

I was not referring to necessarily making a new tab, just that it's a whole new feature, and adding it to the current manila music player is not quite an option.
As far as I know, no music players for WM have that alphabetical scroller, and I have tried I few before settling with mortplayer for my car

there is one with an alphabetical tab its called pocket player..its really good except that the sense interface will b missed...cmon developers if u can make really complicated interfaces im sure this will b a breeze

Ye but i really like the one incorporated into sense and i think its pretty stupid to not have a scroller it take forever to get to your song
My sensation has been through various ROMs and is now happily settled on Pyramid3d 8.3.0 XE (2.3.4 GB). The only remaining thing to annoy me is something in the HTC music player. When you browse via artist, start the thing scrolling down and then grab the scroll bar on the right (to scroll faster through by alphabetic initial) it only has "#" .. and no letters. You can pull the scroll bar all the way to the bottom and it still only shows "#" and when yuo release it, it is still on the first artist. You can see the artists in there, and they all look ok. So I can't use the grab-able scroll bar and I have to manually scroll through several hundred artists to find what I want.
Works fine for albums etc, with the initial letters appearing next to the scroll bar and everything working normally. I've checked my metadata and the artists are completed correctly. I've emptied all the music (22GB or so) from my SD card and refreshed the library, then loaded it back on, and no change.
I don't think the various other stock or custom ROMs I tried had this problem, but I can't find any mention of it in the Pyramid3D thread. Anyone else seen it? Anyone have a fix?
yeah. i had that issue too. just try to rename it and remove any signs and marks from beginning of the artist or album title. use a mp3 tag editor program. i use itag. it's an android app. that should fix it.
fantastic - thank you. i had about four artists who had thoughtlessly started their names with some form of punctuation, and by renaming them it fixed it. I think [Re:Jazz] was the probable culprit - it seems like it didn't like that.
My one remaining bugbear with my phone is now gone. I am a happy man. thanks.

The newer versions of MX Player introduced a quick scroll when looking through video lists in a folder. I have a folder of 600 videos, so if I scroll down a long way, miss something by one line and click 'up' on the remote, it immediately scrolls super fast all the way back to the top and I can't stop it. It's a nightmare. Is this intentional new behavior? Can you disable it? I can't believe they added this, clicking left on the remote used to do this and it was useful, but hitting 'up' now it's rendered the app completely unusable. I want the ability to scroll up line by line back!
Please tell me this can be disabled somehow, or that the devs are listening to this.
