OK I am a bit confused on how Pro handles Media data for its internal apps.
I don't want to use the internal 512MB storage for photos/videos and audio files, but my nice 8GB microSDHC.
I removed all demo photos (and demo video) from internal and moved them to \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures (and My Videos) and the TF3D Photos and Videos doesn't see a thing.
Can it be that stupid?
I am afraid same thing will happen if I move folder "Music" from root (from root, why not in My Documents\My Music!!!), to the storage card.
So please, let me know, how (if possible) will I be able to use my storage card for my media files FOR the TF3D media apps? (because ok I know I can use third party but that is not what I'm asking)
And since we are at it, what's with the "Content" folder?
Please help me.
NOBODY can help?
Mine currently does that. Camera/Videos shoots and saves to \Storage Card\My Documents\, and touchflo pulls them off of there. Not sure what the exact settings are, but check these:
Camera > Config > Advanced > (2/5) Storage > Storage Card
Also try Advanced Config 3.1:
Camera > Save Location > My Pictures
Locations > Default storage location for (images/audio/videos) > \Storage Card\My Documents
Also, I don't think the music panel cares about the location of music files. Half of the sample songs were under \Content\Music, another half under \My Documents\My Music. I threw a bunch of songs into \Storage card\Music and it found them just fine. Separate songs into Artist\Album\Song.mp3 with a folder.jpg for album art (the rest of the info gets pulled from ID3).
will try that (and get back to you)
thanks
One thing at a time...
- I already had Storage Card in Camera settings.
- I have \Storage Card\My Documents\Mu Pictures (etc. respectively) in AC3.1, should I use \Storage Card\My Documents without further subfolders?
- Aaaargh! Things are even worse now that I have checked. Camera doesn't seem to store the photos anywhere!!! (cannot find them in both the card and the device) *** EDIT: Seems the photos are in \Storage Card\My Documents, so my settings above (to use My Pictures) are ignored and more importantly Album ignores them!
Let's clean this up and then I'll check out MP3.
To be honest I don't know which specific setting tells Tflo pictures panel to look under \Storage Card. And yes some of the configs are counter-intuitive or just plain backwards (which also confuses me).
My best guess is:
1) AC3.1 Camera > Save to My Pictures (instead of DCIM) will save pictures \My Documents\My Pictures and,
2) Camer app > Save to Storage Card "prefixes" that save location with \Storage Card.
Still, not really sure how I managed to get Tflo to look in the storage card. All I can do is provide what (relevent) settings I have.
If it helps (read: it doesn't), I have AC3.1 Locations > pointing to \Storage Card\Photos (not even \My Documents). I think we need a second opinion.
also I have noticed a bunch of entries in Camera registry that ends in _409, so could my problems be related to that my MUI is set to _408?

Don't know about that. I have 411 IME installed, but my MUI is still 409.
My hunch is that it shouldn't matter. Probably another setting somewhere else that managed to get lost in the mess of things.
well it does
I entered the same keys but with _408, soft reset and seems ok with pics - now will check with videos
then will check out what happens with MP3
thanks I'll report back
ok newer news
videos fine
BUT
now I moved all Music folder in storage card (not \Storage Card\My Documents or \Storage Card\My Documents\My Music) andtf3d player cannot find anything (after soft reset)
also registry doesn't have any _409 entry related to music
finally, content seems to just hold some cache files in my case
any further ideas?
...so anybody knows anything?
I found two keys in HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Config about scan path that was set to \My Documents (not \Music) and changed those but nothing changes.
TF3D audio player seems to "search" for audio but very soon mentions that there isn't any...
Heeelp?
this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2535708&postcount=2
must be the solution
OK I am having a hard time figuring this out. I wonder if all you people don't have any problems with it (or just don't share)...
I am being pretty analytical to help people help me.
Briefing:
- I have moved all music away from \Content and from \Music
- I have a folder \Storage Card\Music where I have one MP3 in the form \Artist\Album\Song and two songs thrown in the Music folder as they are
- I have searched the WHOLE registry for folder references to Music and Content and if I found any (I think just two in audio manager config keys), I changed them appropriately to \Storage Card\Music
- I am not using WMP at all (because if I do and force it to scan library it starts scanning EVERYTHING plus the FULL microSD (with hundreds of audio files inside program folders)
- I am also not using Windows-side WMP to sync music (I might do it if instructed to, plus if it really puts my music in Storage Card somewhere and of course if it works with TF3D player) ...for now have just "dropped" the three files mentioned above by hand
So...
TF3D music player DOES NOT find ANY music.
WHAT should I do to make THAT player find and use MP3 in my Storage Card (a folder in my card in fact)?
How do you people do it? Have you played around with registry? Do you put MP3 in a specific path I cannot think of? Do you follow some specific procedure?
PLEASE help because it is driving me crazy.
I know it works because I have my music stored in \Storage Card\Music and TF3d picks it up just fine. But I didn't do anything special to my config (no reg edits, etc). Before I deleted the sample music, the Library picked up both the sample mp3s and the mp3s I loaded on to my microSD card, although it took a couple soft-resets to scan in the album art. Also, every time I soft-reset, the first time I go into the Music tab, it pauses with a throbber just under the Start menu as it scans for new files.
One thing I did notice is that the TF3d "music tab" doesn't load all mp3s by default. I have to open up the Library and find them there. Then after I select a song to play, the active folder or playlist is loaded into the TF3d music tab and begins playing.
IE:
- From Library, I select the playlist icon, choose a playlist, then choose a song; that specific playlist is loaded into TF3d music tab.
- From Library, I select an Artist, then hit the songs icon (thus showing all songs by the artist regardless of album); all of those songs are loaded into TF3d music tab.
ok thanks for the info I'll check it out
...in the meantime a question for TF3D audio library. Can I delete something from in there, without deleting it physicaly?

The library has many ways to filter in/out different songs. From what I can tell you can't remove a song from the library (so that the file is still on your device/card, but doesn't show up in the library). But you can add/remove it from playlists -- which of course doesn't modify the music files themselves. In that way (as with many other mp3 players) you can choose which songs you want the TF3d player to play at any given time.
I solved the MAIN problem (now I can see songs) but...
The (newer) problem is that not all of those are real songs (just media files within programs folder) and some are physicaly deleted and still show.
I solved the second problem by deleting audiomanager_eng.vol and it recreated itself "almost correctly".
"Almost" goes to that it STILL gets some extra songs I have in the card in completely irrelevant folders (like \Storage Card\Program Files\xapplication\yfolderinapplication)!!!
Can I prevent this from happening?
The two path registry entries for audio manager are set correctly (I've set them to \Storage Card\Music and \Storage Card\My Documents\My Music respectively).
Weird?
Hi, I just finished setting up my device so it works the way I want it to work music wise.
What I did is the following
1. Copy everything under "My documents" to "Storage Card"
2. Go to HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory
I used CeRegEditor.
3. Change the value of “Folder” to “My documents”
4. Remove "My Documents"
5. (Hard)Reset the device (Touch Pro)
The "Storage Card" has changed into "My Documents". You see that the "Storage Card" doesn't excist anymore.
Now you will notice that the audiomanager has 2 entries for every mp3. This is because instead of searching "My Documents" and "Storage Card" it is searching "My Documents" twice. So you should change one of the "My Documents" to another directory
Go with a registry editor in HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager\Config\
And edit : "device_scan_path_path" and or "device_scan_path_path_0"
These solutions I found by searching the internet and I just put them together.
Regards,
AJ
thanks I'll check the (first part) out too
I don't want to eliminate the whole internal "My documents"

There is a registery tweak so that photos taken from camera are stored in storage card\my documents\my pictures (instead of DCIM forlder) and then they are accessible in HTC album when you click Photos in the cube.
However, though video recordings are stored on SD card as well in My Documents\ My Videos but they are not visible through HTC Album. Only My Videos folder on My Device is accessible.
Anyone knows how to fix this problem ????
Thanks.
Anyone ???? any idea ???? no reply !!!!!
Same problem here. Still looking for a fix.
I think that htc album shows only the MP4 file. Try !
My videos are in mp4...
Possible solution
I have had the same problem. And i've tried a few things, but strangely it doesn't work perfectly for the player part. (but it DOES work)
First i opened the registry and browsed to the following key:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3
Since that dir seems to be linked to the videoplayer on the device, you should open the dir and view the value of Path, you'll see its linked to \Windows\HTCAlbum.exe. Now...
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_2 is stated to be used for viewing Photos (which exactly and ONLY seems to do that), and contains the same Path value which ALSO points to \Windows\HTCAlbum.exe.
Does that mean HTCAlbum can view both types? (i don't think so) And what happens if I change the value of Path in the HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3 dir to let's say: \Windows\wmplayer.exe?
Let's try
After a softreset the Video button in the cube starts Windows Mediaplayer. It also gives me an error message stating the file cannot be played, it might be corrupt or not supported. (weird because i'm not opening ANY file)
Anyway, after manually browsing to my storagecard, i can select the right folder and play my recorded videos. Now let's see if we can fix the storage path of the camera, shall we?
I open HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3\param. The value I enter is \Storage card\DCIM\100MEDIA\ Which i think is also the default path, but i could be wrong. In any case, after i do a small test by recording a video, it's saved in the \Storage card\DCIM\100MEDIA\ directory and it plays in Windows Media Player.
Now I just need to get rid of that annoying Error message when starting up WMplayer. You could also use coreplayer if you have it, i'm not so fortunate Hope it was of any use.
Hello
same problem, I don't see the video :-(
No solution??
Any solutions as of yet??

I tried this and it didn't work...the key I have at HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3\param is actually -mode:camera -type:video right now, not a path to my videos...
Access video from memory card HTC Album
Found these cabs somewhere. The video fix allows access to memory card videos and the audio fix allows the sound to work. The only way I found to adjust the volume for videos is to adjust it in Windows Media Player and it will adjust the HTC Album Video Player.
Hi
Is there any way to control which mp3's are shown in the touchFLO 3D's music tab? It seems that there's no connection between WMP's library and the one that opens up from the music tab, as I already tried deleting my (mp3) ringtones from there and they still showed up on the music tab's library.
All of my music is on My Music -folder (under My Documents on the memory card) and the ringtones are on the My Ringtones -folder.
..I guess I could edit the tag information of all my ringtones so they'd all be under the same artist/album name, but I'd really rather exclude the whole folder from the TF3D's library..
I have the same question too. Any help?
I've got a ringtone in \My Documents\My Ringtones on the internal storage and it doesn't appear in TF3D's music library.
Perhaps try moving your ringtones off the storage card and into the internal storage, and see if that helps. It may be that TF3D's library builder doesn't look in there. Worth a go!
Well I'll be.. worked like charm!
Thanks a million!
..now to get rid of those samples that came with the phone..
Hello everybody!
I ask for your help, because I tried all possible solutions, but unsuccessfully.
I can't make TF3D music player to play my MP3s on the SD card.
When I had HTC Universal, I had MP3s on the SD in the "MUSICA" folder.
I copied all the folder to the new MicroSD for the Touch Pro.
Inside there are other sub-directories, as MIX, ARTISTS, etc...
The first time I open TF3D music player, it searches for music in the internal memory and in storage card.
They are a lot of files, about 3Gb, so it takes a long time to finish.
When it finishes catalogation, I find the list of all MP3s, someone with the album art.
But when I try to play one, it doesn't start.
Someone starts playing after 10s I pressed the play icon, it plays for 7-8s, then playing stops.
I can't change MP3 file with the up and down arrows near the play icon.
If I open the catalog to select another MP3 on the list, it doesn't select it and it returns to the music player showing still the previous MP3.
I read in some threads to try to stop TF3D and delete the catalog file (AudioManager_Eng.vol).
I did it, the catalog regenerated, but still the same problem.
I tried to rename the folder "MUSICA" in a more stardard "Music" or "My Music" and relaunched a new catalogation, nothing changed.
I tried also to move all files from the sub-folders to the "main" folder "My Music", nothing changed.
I had this problem with the shipped WWE ROM, but also with my actual ROM, a reconstructed ITA ROM.
I noticed that after a hard-reset, without the SD inserted, TF3DMP plays correctly the sample MP3s inside "My Music" in internal storage.
I will try to move some files to "My Music" on the internal storage to see what it happens, but it's not the solution.
I can't copy 3Gb of MP3s in the internal storage!
I saw that people can play MP3s on SD card with no problems with the TF3DMP.
So what's wrong?
I don't know what other tries I can do to try to find where's the problem.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi, that means you have something wrong - for htc's music player - with some of the mp3s on your sd card, and that the ones you chose to put in the device's memory are OK.
I have run into the same kind of problem, with a much smaller amount of music, because some of my files didn't have correct meta data (artist / album).
The best way is to try putting the albums one by one and test - or to use another music player. Personally I'm wondering if I'm not goint to switch to pocket music player, less eye candy, no album covers, but no bugs, instead of a library sorting you can chose to play a directory - I didn't find a way in HTC's player to just take the songs of a directory instead of scanning everything, in order to prevent this kind of bug...
My HD2 just searches all storage card for any music files and puts them into library.
Some of them are ringtones and other useless stuff. So I don't want them to be in my music library
Is there a way to choose folder where audio manager should search ?
I'm not sure why your library is showing ringtones. None of mine ever end up in the library.
I had Fring and Talkonout installed on storage card. I both have mp3 files for ringtones.
I deleted them both from storage card and files disappeared but that is not a solution :/

i got the same problem. all music files show in my music library when i pressed update library. +1 on how to choose music folder and disregard the rest.
mine does the same. My HD2 came preinstalled with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire game. The manila audio manager displays all the acc music files that came preinstalled... what a pain....
you can make HTC album to ignore some folders. Do the following:
Go to HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAlbum/Ignore
and add a sting value with a name (choose whatever you want) and string (here you put the location of a particular folder)
So if I want HTC album to ignore My Music folder on my Storage card, I will add a new string value: name-My Music and string-\Storage Card\My Music
hope this helps
ah forgot to mention soft reset after that
Am I doing something wrong? I did a soft reset and still no exclusion from the folders I specified here:
Ignore not Ignored
Oh, should I rename that folder to ignore? Because my HD2's registry came like that with that folder called ingnored.
Maybe the TMOUS HD2 has the d added? Not sure why they would have done that.

Tap Library - Playlist - New playlist (for example playlist 1)
Tap playlist 1 - Add songs - All songs (on bottom of screen) - select all songs you need - Done
Tap 1 song in playlist 1. Music player will play that song and library will update to playlist 1.
I'm sorry about my English, I'm Vietnamese.
Good English! I understood great.
But, I did what you said about adding a playlist & adding songs and it seemed to work great, but then later I went back to play the playlist & nothing played at all. It is strange that this default player doesn't work anymore since I tried the playlist trick. In fact, when I try to find anything to play, the "Music Tab" just hangs and never populates with MP3s at all. I think I bricked my Music Tab of my HD2 (I don't know if I said that right but it sounded good ). Well, at least I didn't brick the entire phone! Now I am forced to use Windows Media Player for all music, which I don't mind at all, but it was nice to use the other player while on the road.
I may end up trying what they say here:

Well a lot of people noticed a problem with HTC Music tab. Library shows not only music but ring tones and other sounds. One way to stop it is to hide offending folders. One problem with that is if you hide for example ring tone folder you can not select your ring tones as they are hidden as well.
What I did is as goes. I have music on SD card, also there is tomtom, copilot and some other apps. I have hidden all of the apps that might have sounds so they do not show up in library. Obviously left folder with music not hidden.
That will take care of SD card.
For My Device sounds do steps below:
1. Start from removing your card and then going to music tab so it rescans and states no music found. (Skip to step 3 if you are starting from clean rom)
2. Go to registry editor of your choice and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng (for german it will be AudioManager_Ger)\Information
Delete all items in that folder. You will not be able to delete Information it self.
If you are on clean rom you will not even have that folder it is created 1st time when music tab finds music.
3. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Config
In there change:
"device_scan_path_path" from what ever there is to \Windows
"device_scan_path_path_0" from what ever there is to \Windows
"ring_tone_path" from what ever there is to \Windows
What this will do is exclude all files in windows folder. If you have any files in my documents they will show up. I assume if you just put "\" instead of "\Windows" it will exclude entire my device but did not test it.
4. Soft reset, insert your SD card and enjoy.

I didn't want to do it that way, but it looks as if I may have to. I liked the first way better (...HTCAlbum > Ignored...)
(I removed "Music" from my Home Screen Tabs as there was no reason to have it there anymore)
I just create playlist and do nothing else. I needn't edit registry.
Hello. I apologize if this is a duplicate, but I tried searching and did not find anything.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (32GB model with a 32GB micro SD card) and have been using HTC phones for years now.
My dilemma is that I tried to organize and create sub-folders for my media, and now I cannot play or access my music. Note: I realize this is of most likely my fault.
1. I originally loaded all my music (mp3) and movies (avi files) onto the device. (sdcard) in the DCIM folder. In the "music folder" I created sub-folders for types of music. ie. Alternative, Electronic, Inde, etc.
2. Now, the only way I could access everything through the "Gallery" and the problem was all the media was jumbled together. The music cover art, and movies were mixed together with the camera photos.
The music was all mixed together in the "Music player" There was no organization, it took a very long time to find whatever I was looking for, whether it was Music, Photos, or Videos.
So I did the following...
1. In the EXTSDCARD, I made sub-folders to organize everything ie. (Music, then Alternative, Electronic, etc) (a Movies folder) (a Camera folder) and a (Saved Photos) folder. Note: I put all of my saved photos taken from the camera in this folder.
2. Now, --- ALL pictures taken with the camera end up in the "camera folder" (accessible through the Gallery & NO MORE ALBUM ART) [good]
--- ALL the movies (avi files) ARE available through the "video player" [good]
--- NONE of the music is available through the "music player"
I am completely lost. I don't understand what is going on with the Music Folder. Does this make any sense? Has anyone ever had this issue before? I'm sure I did something wrong, I just don't know what it is. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated, and thanks for taking the time to read through this mess.
I almost wish I just left it how was before. It took about half a day to transfer all the media from sdcard into the extsdcard and in sub-folders. Very slow transfers. Thanks again.
