Ok, I'm trying to flash my Polaris with the microSD card, but the steps explained on the the wiki don't seem to be working for me. Anyone had proper experience with this?

Card initialize is fail!

Hi guys
I've been searching for some days on google and this forum but I can't seem to find the solution to this: every time I try to download my ROM with d2s (romupdate) I get a "Card initialize is fail!"
I've got a Qtek S100 with a 256MB MMC card.
Anyone any clue what I'm not seeing?
Thanks
Mark
Is it an MMC card that you're using, or SD?
It is a MMC as I said in the original question, is that the problem?
Regards
Mark
MMS and SD have different protocols and to be honest I never headr anyone who used the romupdate program with an MMC card. It would be worth trying an SD card I think.
You need an SD card. It doesnt work with an MMC. Even I have tried. MMCs dont work for ROM dumping/upgrade.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll try again!
Hope this posts helps for others

Sure did - tried reformatting MMC card using NetX Flash Format at various different formats - all to no avail.
Is there any other way to dump a ROM without have an SD card to hand?
I've got 4 MMC cards - and the idea of buying another card just for ROM updates seems such a waste.

installing ROM from memory card!

Does anyone knows how to install a ROM from a memory card? 'cause from PC normally, doesn't work. Does someone has the right steps to install it from a memory card? Does someone has a converted ROM for that?

[Q] SD Card AFTER installing ROM

Once I install the ROM on my Transformer, can I take the SD card out and leave it out?
I am not a noob, I did search these forums and others before posting this and could not find an answer...
On my old WinMo devices, the ROM actually ran from the SD card... I am not sure of the newer Android devices and don't have another card for my tablet...
Your TF does not need a micro SF card to operate so yes you can take it out.
It's not a bad idea to have one in to make nandroid backup ect.

[Q] Trying to flash ICS to HD2 HELP!!!

Hi all. I'm flashing from Froyo to ICS, using NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.1. I've flashed new radio, MAGLDR etc... with no issues, but when I've come to actually flash the ROM, my SD Card has chosen this second to give up on me. It wouldn't transfer any files etc... using the MAGLDR USB mass storage mode, and now refuses to format it.
So, I assume the SD card is screwed (unless there's some weird setting I've missed?) - basically, my phone obviously won't boot into anything now, it's half past midnight and I don't have any more SD cards on me.
How can I flash this ROM using a bootloader? Is that possible? I vaguely recall using a Bootloader to flash to Froyo from WinMo, rather than an SD card.
Any ideas? I need to get this running very soon, so my phone will work.
Cheers in advance.
(also, I did a search, but I couldn't find an answer. Sorry if it has been answered already).
Alternatively, does anyone know of a NAND ROM with a daf.exe loader? Any will do, just so I can get my phone functional until I get a new SD card.
Thanks.
Fixed it, by going into clockworkmod, partitioning the card, formatting it within CWM, mounting the SD card, then mounting USB storage. Seeeeeems to have worked.
So, feel free to delete. That said, would still be interested in finding an alt. solution to this.

can't use micro SD

Hi everyone,
I have been trying for the last few hours to find the information i need to resolve an issue i have.
I recently rooted my TFT101 with aokp milestone 5, I now find that i cant access my micro sd card, ( previously could ).
Also CWM wont see it, i have tried flashing it to 5.8.2.0 however still wont see the card.
I see there have been alot of posts but it just cant seem to find the answer that i need ( or im getting confused ).
I have seen that potentially formating the card to fat32 may resolve, however is ther something else im missing?
Any help appreciated or a point in the right direction.
Thanks
Some versions of CWM can't use the micro sd and in AOPK you may have to remount the sdcard although it should have done it automatically. You might want to use a file manager to find /removable/sdcard it is also sometimes named extsd or extsdcard
