2 bluetooth devices with the same name? - Touch Cruise General

i need to connect 2 bluetooth devices to my polaris, one to use as a phone handsfree and the other as stereo speakers.......
no problem there you say, but, they will both be identical devices with the same device names. and both capable of both headset and wireless speaker profiles.
does anyone see any problems with this?
i have connected many different bluetoth devices at the same time but never 2 of the same device.
given the way the simplest things can go wrong i was hoping that someone here might have already done this and could tell me if it worked ok or was a disaster!
thanks

I don't think this is a problem for the pairing. I once used an identical PDA for a couple of weeks. I restored a backup of the old PDA on it, so it had the same name. I hoped it would be paired to all my BT devices, but it wasn't. I had to pair them all again. So I think there is more identification than only the name.

thanks that sounds good.
does anyone use both headset and wireless speakers over bluetooth?
i am hoping that the phone will go to the headset and all other audio (TomTom, Mp3) would go to the speakers....... has anyone had this working ok?

also does ayone have 2 of the same bluetooth device that they can assign different profiles to?
i am concerned that although i set 1 as headset and the other as speakers as they are the same device they may swap roles depending on which connects first
i dont know if this is an issue but if anyone is able to test this for me it would be a huge help

lol ok strike that! just found out from the manufacturer that although the dongle has the wireless stereo profile its only wired for mono!
so can anyone recomend a good Bluetooth stereo reciever

Can bluetooth do this?

I go bike riding (pushbike, not motorbike) with groups of people sometimes, and we've been listening to music using the built in speaker of my BlueAngel. Of couse the volume isn't great especially once it's safely back in it's holster.
So while we were out the other day, we started thinking of solutions.... We started wondering if bluetooth could be useful to us.
Can we play music out to ordinary bluetooth headsets?
Can we send to multiple headsets at once?
Extending onto the idea, is it possible to use bluetooth headsets as intercom type things (using some software on the BA maybe)?
I don't have any bluetooth devices beyond the BA, so I can't test
In case it matters, Im currently running 2005 on my device. I am considering going back to 2003SE though... Is there anything I would need to know in that department?
No one knows?
Anyone with access to multiple bluetooth headsets or sets of bluetooth headphones able to see if you can do it?
try doing a search for a2dp
most of what you are asking have been
up 1024 times before
doubt you would find info about anything but the first q though
the others i dont think is possible
also bluetooth headset range seem to crash and burn after 2-3m
personaly i use these

they work for me

Bluetooth 2.0 - anyone?

I'm after an upgrade for BT. My headphones need 2.0w/EDR + A2DP.
Can anyone help.
Thanks
try this...
run both files
Didn't work
This install is to enable the A2DP feature for BT, not to upgrade the BT stack.
Thanks anyway.
Can anyone else help??
I am not sure I can help, but I am curious what headphones you got that will only use 2.0?
The headphones are Logitech FreePulse Wireless
Link to headphones are:

They're pretty good. This pair is a replacement, from Logitech, for 2 pairs of the old iPod headphones. They were replaced due to the cracking headband problem. Unfortunately the new pair does not operate the remote control functions (on the iPod or the phone). They just have volume and mute controls on the headphones.
These new ones connect to the phone OK, but I'm not able to set the device as 'set as Wireless Stereo' and there are no service listed. I'm guessing it the phones version of BT that's stopping the connectivity problem.
What's your interest BT or the headphones?
Cheers.
I am interested in finding the ideal a2dp headphones (decent sound, comfortable, no distortion/skipping, controls work right). I've tried several with my qtek 8300 (moto ht820, sony hbhds970, nextlink spider), and each seems to have its own problems. I've settled on the Sony set, but it has issues with switching from handsfree to wireless stereo (won't automatically switch back to wireless stereo after phone call). I haven't tried any logitech set yet, though.
Hello,
I have downloaded the zip file but seems to be corrupted. Can you upload it again. Many Thanks.

Telephone cant find bluetooth-headset!

Hi! I have a brand new Jabra 620s bluetooth-headset. When I turn the headset on and search for bluetooth devices on my computer I can see it, but I cant see it when I search for it on my touch pro.
What could be the problem here?
I had a similar problem last night (and have it quite often when i need to pair). It doesn't detect it until the 3rd or 4th time in which last night it didn't even detect it either. I power cycled the headset and my phone found it the first time.
Yeah, I tried rebooting my headset and my phone several times, but I still can't get it to work...
Figured it out... Had to hold in a button on the headsett to make it avaliable for new devices...
But new problem:
I don't get sound in the headsett when I play music. But when I make a call the sound is in the headsett. What could be the problem here?
Maybe its the settings in your a2dp profile?
I read this "Set-up of the 620's was simple enough, the headset unit is paired with the device that is streaming the music and / or a mobile phone. A smart move from Jabra allows the 620s to be connected to both a mobile phone and an audio device simultaneously. However our set-up was rather more straight forward than most as we used Jabra's own Bluetooth dongle that supports the all important A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) profile. Real life for most users is a different kettle of fish with support for A2DP being quite sparse, most music gateways and servers and even music ready mobiles rarely support the required profile." source: http://www.lordpercy.com/jabra_bt620s_review.htm
Maybe some tweaking in hklm\\software\microsoft\bluetooth\a2dp\Settings
I believe this headset also supports AVRCP profile. In any case, make note of your original configuration prior to making any changes.

You can use Advanced Config to enlarge the bluetooth bitpool under the bluetooth tweaks. Set it to "very high" for best sound quality (uses more system resources tough).
HTH
Maximum bit-pool setting is 1561. I dont think it solves the problem, cause the quality is still really bad.
Any other tips? Or do I have to return the headset cause a brand new ~1000$ phone cant play on a wireless bluetooth headset?!
Bump.. Are there really no solutions?

Question: Can a Bluetooth phone be used as an A2DP receiver?

I am too cheap to buy a bluetooth headset. So,
"Is it even possible to stream audio from a laptop or any other music source to winmo phone over bluetooth or wifi, so that I can use my current kickass wired mobile headphones"
Ive been trying to get something similiar to work myself, any progress from other members would do well posted here lol
~Dark
Did you get any progress with this? I would like to play my laptop (Ubuntu) music on my phone whilst I go into the kitchen (for example) and I can't be bothered taking me laptop down. If not, I may have to find some wifi solution (though I'm not being too optimistic).
Yes it can work - but - you need a A2DP source that can transmit to the phone...
There is a product that nokia do that I have which is a A2DP gateway box which can either act as a receiver or transmitter to an A2DP phone - but I am not sure what protocols it needs to work... I assume, but dont know, that it works with general A2DP because it will receive from my S710 & Touch Diamond phones - although I have tried the transmit part of it yet the documentation clearly states it will transmit...
the device has phono stereo input & output ports which can be rigged through to whatever sound source you have in mind...
As I say though I havent personally tested the A2DP transmission facility but I very much doubt Nokia would say it worked if it didnt...
Hope that helps...
Well, if I already have an A2DP source, how would I go about getting the phone to recieve it?
news about it please?
I was about to start a new thread for this lol
I want to stream music from my macbook to my phone, and hook up my phone to my home stereo. That way i dont have to waste money on a a2dp receiver when my phone has the capability.
Is there an app for that?

JVC Radio Can not connect

I have a JVC radio that works with an iPhone. Is there any SW that would allow it to work with a android?
This is the second thread you have started on the same subject. What are you expecting to do with it? As mentioned before if your phone is in disk drive mode you should be able to play mp3 files from the card. Have you tried that? Works fine on my kenwood like that.
thanks
I was actually hopping to be able to pump out audio like phone calls etc.. The iPhone can can do it. I thought the other post was removed becaues I put it in the wrong section.
My kenwood does both. But it is actually done by bluetooth. There are 2 channels, phone and AD2P that my headunit has settings for. I myself have never heard of using USB for this phone. I don't think the micro usb port is capable of handling that. If you expect your headunit to handle calls it will either have to be done by bluetooth or by auxillary headphone cable. What way are you trying to make the connection? What make and model of headunit do you have in your car?
You are correct. I was to cheap to pay the extra $ for the BT. I put a spliter on the AUX port and all works. Just had to hide a few cables. The reason I can not use BT is, I use SKYPE for long conf calls. IT works great but it does not pump out audio out of BT.
I connect one side to my XM portable and the other to the audio port on the phone. Seems to be working ok. I get a little feedback from Phone when it is plugged in to a power source. I am working on a fix for that.
