Hello,
does HTC S710 Vox support 8GB SDHC cards?
Thanks
Yeah. I use a Sandisk 8GB SDHC Card.
Yup,like a breeze
A good use for the extra space is to convert a couple of avi's, fx w. Nero Recode 2:
http://www.modaco.com/content/htc-t...08/guide-nero-recode-2-making-hq-qvga-movies/
and play w. TCPMP or coreplayer, excellent for longer trips
(this method is old, probl. something smarter exists, I'm not the expert...)
yes defenitely

Hi -- does anyone know if any of the new HTC phones with full-size SD card slots (the Panda, the forthcoming Sirius, and the Sedna?) will be SDHC compatible? The Panda is already out now, and I'm wondering if it's the first Pocket PC phone to read the latest 8GB SDHC cards?
Alan
A reasonable question, and one I'd like the answer to as well.
Wouldn't it be nice if HTC would at least post a link to the manual for their own device on their site?
Hmmm.... PDAdb now lists the Sirius (HTC P6500) as being SDHC compatible in their "detailed specs."
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=734
This wasn't there before. Does anyone know if it's confirmed or just speculation?
According to HTC P6300 Support, the Panda will support SD cards up to 4Gb and Mini-SD cards up to 12Gb.
I spoke with tech support today.
The Panda supports standard 4Gb SD cards. SDHC may work, but there's no guarantee. A patch may be made available in the future to allow this.
Tried a 4 Gb Transcend 150x standard SD (i.e. non-SDHC) card in my Panda today. Appeared to be working nicely.
I spoke too early.
I tried out said 4 Gb Transcend 150x SD card for a couple of weeks and experienced several instances of file corruption in much-written-to folders (backups, news article caches, and so on). May have been just a bad card, but I didn't feel like experimenting more with my precious data, so I didn't try out another copy.
I have since switched to a 4 Gb Sandisk Extreme SDHC (yes, high capacity) card, and it has been working flawlessly. Plus, it's blazingly fast! Highly recommended

Oh baby, Toshiba just announced that they have made some 16GB And 32GB SDHC cards (class 4)! And 8GB MicroSDHC. Check out this link:
http://blog.scifi.com/tech/archives/2007/08/23/toshiba_unleash_1.html
Imagine using one of these with the new ROM by Laurentius, Beast & Mamaich!!!
My mobile phone would have a lot more storage space than even my laptop (20GB), that is crazy
Now what happens next for the SD format? Because the limit for SDHC cards is 32GB, so already we have reached the limit of this "new" specification
available januari
$700 for 32gb
$350 for 16gb
theoretical limit is 2048gb by the way, not 32gb
I think a 2 Terrabyte SDHC card won't be possible until year 2009+
hahaha.. that's just insane..
But a 4Gb was also thought as insane back in early 2000
damn.. technology is insane..
Wow, a) just in time to force 8gb SDHC cards price down for this new rom . b) probably want one because I can... 32GB makes for a neat storage of music and turns PDA's into useful USB HDD's now.
Sweet all round

Morning all,
I currently use 1GB Sandisk SD card for my XDA II Himalaya. As TomTom size is increasing day by day, I was looking for an 8GB SD card however when I searched online, it said SD over 2GB are now SDHC (SD High Capacity cards) and the devices need to be compatible to be able to run it.
My question is, Does Hima XDA II supports SDHC cards? (I am using Ather 6.14 ROM Mobile version 6).
Could someone please help on this matter before I make a buy?
Here is the link to the Hima I have :[http://www.gsmarena.com/o2_xda_ii-697.php]
Here is the link to the SDHC I am looking at : [http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/4949650/SanDisk-8GB-SD-HC-Card/Product.html]
Many thanks

Hi,
Himalaya does not support SDHC, only SD.
However, I have several 4gb non sdhc memory cards working perfectly.
If your search well you will certainly find them.
Three suggestions:
1 - Try before your buy. There have been mixed experiences with different brands (and sometimes even with the same brand...)
2 - If possible, go for the ones with highest speed (even if some say there is no difference...)
3 - Format the sd card in the device...
Regards,
P
Thanks Pdc4, I really appereciate your help in this.
I am looking at Sandisk ones, they are quite good and faster then other brands.
Will check out and find out if I can find one which is only SD.
Many thanks

Hi,
I've just recently purchased an iPAQ 612 (all the other versions are just regional and "c" stands for integrated camera) and i've been pretty pleased with the phone.
However much to my dismay, I realised that the latest iPAQ is not SDHC capable. I've been wading through google and many users are also affected by the same incabability.
I just recently learnt on this forum that it is possible to use an SDHC patch to read SDHC cards. I've tried the patches on this forum but non of them seem to work out on my iPAQ.
I'm just wondering is there any pool of tech-savvy people here who are able to find out what's the issue with the iPAQ and create a similar SDHC patch for it?
Thanks!
I have very limited knowledge on programming and such so i might not be of much help in the creation. However i'd be more than happy to try any possible patch and give a review on it.
Regards,
Sebastian
is there really no one out there? =\
please?
try going to hklm - system - storagemanager
then add the dword pnpunloaddelay with decimal value 33186. add pnpwaitiodelay with the same dec value.

Hey Hey, Thanks for your input. =))
though i didnt try but it's very nice of you still
I just bought an 8gb Kingston class 4 and it worked great in my Ipaq 612. All thanks to the shopkeeper whom used to sell the 612. He gladly unsealed a kingston 8gb class4 sdhc (without me paying) just for me to try.
Anyone knows why would the 8gb class 6 from sandisk differ so much from the kingston 8 class4? they're still sdhc cards and by right they're supposed to work the same way arent they?
i hope this helps those who are still searching for more memory on their ipaq 610.
now i can see the files
Hi, i have a 614c and a nokia 8GB microSD, thanks to the oic0 registry add, now i can see the files on my card, the problem is that i can't do anything with the files, can't play any mp3 or open docs.
My question: do i need to make some other changes?
thanks
Note: the ipaq works perfec with a Kingston 4GB card and my nokia card works ok in one samsung omnia.

Hi,
The 6xx/6xxc are fully compatible with SDHC cards. The only restriction lays in the brand. Some work, some don't... I personally never would use Kingstons ... SanDisks are much easier to get and configure.

Searching another card...

I think this is from Nokia card I hawe Transcend 8GB and no problem
Hi,
I'm using miniSD adapter with microSD card, but when I tried to put microSDHC card it didn't working. Is there any software to make it use? Or it is hardware problem?
In order to have possibillity to use sdhc cards u should install this first. Then plug your sdhc card, it's likely to work. But i havent tested it by myself. Note: this driver dramatically drops sd-card read/write speed.
tornado does not support SDHC standard
mato-peto
Already does!
Read my previous post more attentively...
Some people confirm this driver to work on Tornado and on StarTrek as well.
They could use 4gb sdhc card!
Oh My !!!
It works!
There have been so many tries getting this to work and now it works.
I used a 8GB micro-sdhc card (with converter tot mini) and it works!
thanx a million!

Thakns for this!! It works!! Really read/write speed is much lower, but I think that OMAP CLOCK can help in this case.
doesn't work for me..i use the orange spv c600 version of the htc tornado, installed both c550_and_650_sdteam drivers as well as Cotulla sdhc but none worked..i'm using a mini sd card 2gb and a mini sd-micro sdhc card adaptor for the 4gb class 4 kingston card....with first drivers after install i still can see the normal card, not the sdhc, but after installing cotulla drivers(removing the others first) doesn't work al all either of the cards !! wtf? i use wm 6.1 standard
Interesting. I use the following rom:
WM6.5 Standard ENG OCOS 5.2.21234(Build21234.5.0.1)ver.1.0(Full and Lite) by Gregorys
i installed the full version of this rom with the Cotulla sdhc driver found in the link. (Be aware that you should install 2 cab-files, but this is stated clearly in the readme.txt)
Maybe there is something in the rom as well that we need. why don't you install this rom and try...
10nx for the tip...the phone i have bought 2 days ago ,caught a bargain with full package at 40 dollars, already with a wm6.1 installed...but i'm not satisfied about it,has a few bugs...not sure who's version is it now,but i will install the gregorys version......hope it works after the new rom,it's good to be known that not all wm6 roms work with sdhc
jOnly works with micro SDHC plugged into the micro SD to mini SD converter and then used with tornado
the standard mini SDHC doesnt work. and this way there is no significance of SDHC's advantage of speed. isntead speed is dead slow
Follow up the analysis of the driver packages and the final solutions in the thread "SDHC Finally Works !!!!!!" (seems not all who wrote here are also there).
Keep the Tornados alive!
