Hi all,
I've searched and failed - I know the answer is in these forums, but I never seem to hit the right search string!
My goal is to put the HTC roms onto my Vodafone v1615 device. As a first step, I'd like to suck out the v1615 ROMS so that I can put them back in case anything goes seriously wrong.
Step 1 was to run pdocread, which copies itsutils.dll to the device. This failed.
I can see why it failed - it's because HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 is 2 when I'd like it to be 1.
I can see the above as I've installed "Mobile Registry Editor", which runs on the PC and peeks down the wires at the device. However, it won't let me change the value as it says "Access Denied" when I try it.
So, what it comes down to is the following question:
Where can I find a registry editor for the Kaiser, preferably that will run on the device itself, that is able to change the above value?
Thanks for your help - I know this entire post shows me up as a complete newbie, but we all have to start somewhere...!
Cat
Ok, answered my own question (after lots more searching and failures)... Please add below if there are better answers than this one:
Install the .net compact framework from here: http://www.secondkiss.com/download/netcf/netcf.core.ppc3.arm.cab
Then install the registry editor from here: http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...=96806&Ntt=registry&productId=160555&R=160555
You'll need to register with handango but it lets you download before receiving any confirmatory email.
I've now change the values and pdocread has produced some interesting looking numbers.
i have just read your posts, maybe we need a noobie guide, i'm still stuck with dumping my rom.
Were is my (0x00000) i have followed your cmd and mine is not the same as POF's

Unfortunately my laptop (where I am now) has the problem that the wireless network falls apart if I plug the 'phone' in. I did extract four files at work though, which look good. The first two numbers were the same as I've seen (pof's?) except there was obviously some 'borrowing' between parts 2 and 3 (part 2 was slightly smaller, part 3 was slightly larger) - I'll post the exact output tomorrow when I get back to work.
The main point though is that I've successfully produce the four .raw files. I'll continue on and report any major failings in case it helps anyone else!
Ok, this is the output from "pdocread -l" on a UK Vodafone v1615 (at least an early example and a 2GB card up it's bottom) along with the corresponding commands to read the four parts of the ROM:

Hi everyone
I'm trying to dump the original German TMO ROM from a Kaiser, but it's giving me some trouble. Essentially it appears pdocread can't read the full Partition size after #1. I'll just post what I belive is relevant:
this is the error:

Not sure why you created a new thread, but you should check out the original thread by Pof. I haven't encountered the problem you're having, but in that thread, there is a suggestion to change your security policies. Read more about it in that thread.
In the future I suggest searching and replying to existing threads to help keep this forum clean.
Hope this helps!

This thread needs to be deleted because I'm an idiot. There was a typo in my command line (Part 0...1...2).
Alex: I did _extensive_ searching (google, not the board search) and haven't found anything relevant. though you're right, I should have posted in the original Thread
Thanks
You need latest itsutils tools. You can download them from:

Exctract them in a folder, open up a command prompt, go into that dir and....

Part02. raw is the os. You may eventually need to dump XIP or other partitions. Do it the same way taking care to substitute Part02 and the correct length with whatever you need to dump.

Allright, man! You changed the right address. A difference in length between rom versions is perfectly normal.
Managed to create all 4 raw files for my IUSACELL ROM (already posted it here), but the 3rd actually timed out at 179 out of 300+ MB. I assume this is actually the free space from my phone, so it's not a big loss.
Can you confirm?
Thanks in advance.

i've dumped my rom (from Part00 to Part03): now?
how can i convert Part02 to get NBH file to flash?
Anyone care to post their RAW dump files from their devices?
You will need itsutils from :http://nah6.com/~itsme/itsutilsbin-20080602.zip
Extract to a temp folder and follow this guide:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoDumpRom
Please upload them and post the links for download. Please also describe the devices that they came from.

Remove your storage card and try it again. I think there's a Part00 conflict with it.
Try from here:
In case there is a read error in the imgfs (as shown here) you'll have to read one specific 0x800 byte section separately and patch the diskimage to make it work. So either the flash is bad, or the driver reading it has bugs.
If your phone returns Part02_0.raw without errors, you can simply rename Par02_0.raw to Part02.raw and skip to step 15*
10. Check what we have so far:
C:\itsutils>dir Part*.raw10/08/2006 22:52 3.275.776 Part00.raw10/08/2006 22:53 3.014.656 Part01.raw10/08/2006 23:00 39.911.424 Part02_0.rawC:\itsutils>11. We use the 0x800 byte trick to complete dumping the rest of imgfs.
The file size is 39.911.424 (0x2610000 in hex), so we specify this value as start, and 0x800 byte length:
C:\itsutils>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part02 0x2610000 0x800 Part02_1.rawCopyTFFSToFile(0x2610000, 0x800, Part02_1.raw)12. It worked, now we have to start at 0x2610000 + 0x800 and read the rest of the partition which is 0x32e0000 (total size) - 0x2610800 (what we have already read), so the result is 0xccf800 bytes length we need to read:
C:\itsutils>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part02 0x2610800 0xccf800 Part02_2.rawCopyTFFSToFile(0x2610800, 0xccf800, Part02_2.raw)13. And that's it, all dumped successfully:
C:\itsutils>dir Part*.raw10/08/2006 22:52 3.275.776 Part00.raw10/08/2006 22:53 3.014.656 Part01.raw10/08/2006 23:00 39.911.424 Part02_0.raw11/08/2006 00:02 2.048 Part02_1.raw11/08/2006 00:06 13.432.832 Part02_2.raw
still not working...
C:\itsutils>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -p Part00 0 0x31f000 Part00.raw

Got IT
Guys,
I have found the solution. We didn't add the parameter for the control block and that's why is was giving errors.
I have the dumps on my hard drive now, where can I upload it?
Here's the commands I used:
Code:
C:\itsutils>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part00 0 0x31f000 part00.raw
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x31f000, part00.raw)

CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x380000, part01.raw)
C:\itsutils>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part02 0 0x65e0000 part02.raw
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x65e0000, part02.raw)
C:\itsutils>pdocread -w -d FLASHDR -b 0x800 -p Part03 0 0x65a0000 part03.raw
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x65a0000, part03.raw)
So just let me know where I can put these.

Please upload part01.raw and part02.raw to rapidshare.com or mediafire.com
Thanks so much.
Just to be sure, I'll upload all parts, so every can do with it what they want to.
Come and get it at this location:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=cb564520d236e90090a82c7bb0fad7ade04e75f6e8ebb871
Upload is running now and part00 and part01 are already done. The other ones will be on there within the hour.
Just let me know if these are any good. If not, I'm willing to take another crack at it.
And one more side-note: This is a original HTC ROM including Dutch, English (UK & US) and French.
It's a Dutch phone so you might start out with a Dutch user interface but it can be changed to English.
Have fun with it!

I already asked the question in the section about the spl of jockyW but it's not the same thing so i open the thread it will be clearer.
so the question is in the title (i already search the net but couldn't find anything) i found something about dumping on other devices but is it the same procedure?
if no, is anyone can post it. I would like to do it before beginning the unlocking.
thanks.
why no one answer is the question too stupid? or is the answer somewhere i didn't find? ookba you said in your topic that we need to dump the sspl is it the same than to dump the rom?
