Hi everybody I've been searching every single thread about Tornado SP and I didn't find something related about my problem. I really hope you may help me!
The issue I got is:
If I select a mp3 song for the messages, when I receive one obviusly the song is played but it doesnt stop until it is played entirely even if I've already read the message.
By now I just use predeterminates tones but...
What can I do if I want that when I recieve a message and I open it the song stops???
Just a thought, but why not cut and have 10sec mp3 instead of 5min.
could be but

hey bllohin your suggest could be an option but i still think theres another way to stop the song played when a sms has incomed perhaps a registry fix or a tweak any way if you got something about it let me know it and thanks bro.
I don't think you'll find a registry fix, because no one would want to. It's too risky to mess with the registry when one can simply cut an mp3 and do the same thing.
mhhhh

thecraze you're right mess with registry it's risky but despite of I'll try to find how to fix that issue, because that it's a programing mistake, I used to have a Nokia cellphone and I never had problems with mp3 songs, if a message arrived just clicking "read" or "end call" button sound stops. Anyway I'll keep seraching and also I hope someone helps me.
Thanks for the advice "thecraze"

Is there any way to set things up so that for an incoming call the cruise uses a random mp3 or other format ringtone from a folder?
Thanks
AO
Honestly, that sounds truly strange, both litteraly and by figure of speech...
and by that you mean...???
It's unusual, but I think unusual is good. I like it (assuming I've understood it correctly).
I assume the idea is to have a folder with various MP3s in it so that when a call comes in you don't always get the same old ring tone but you get a randomly selected one from the choices in the folder. Is this correct?
The above only seems to be practical (in a human sense) if you have few enough MP3s so that you will recognise the sound each time as one of your random ringtones, it would be a bit strange if you had so many ringtones that you couldn't recognise all of them as being your phone ringing (wouldn't it?).
Out of interest, how many MP3s are you thinking of having in the collection and will they be mostly music clips or other stuff?

P.S. Sorry - I have no idea how you would do this.
yes exactly... got a bunch of self-made loops (like 15 or so) and would be real nice if i could listen to a different tune every time my celly rings...
And about concerns, i couldnt recognize if its my phone that rings: What you guys do? Stack dozens of phones? I know where my cruise is, and if some sound type of thing comes from that direction, I just know: Hey, its either spontaneous creation of sound from nothing, or my phone rings...

Interesting. I think you must have much better directional hearing than me. When my phone rings, even with just one ringtone set, I'm usually not sure if it is mine or someone else's. I do keep it in my trouser pocket though so not very close to my ears and I live in the city so I usually have quite a few other people within a few metres of me, especially when I'm on a train or in a bar or something. It's usually the vibrate part of the ringing that gets my attention before the ringtone does. I'd actually do better with your idea, 15 ringtones unique to me would be better than one that isn't very unique to me.

Just what I mean, what's the use of multiple ringtones, you have to recognize your own when in public areas, and fast, as most people start finding ringtones annyoing...

Well, you can assign different MP3 ringtones for each of your contact.
Hi! I'm sorry if this is posted, but I've searched and found nothing on this issue.
My question is about the standard handsfree headset wich comes in the original package. My issue is that I don't use the button for calling people, but I would rather use it for... Changing songs or muting the sound. Something else... Is there a way to do this?
bump?
cause im calling people without even knowing, just listening to music..
I don’t think it is because it’s just for pick-up and to call the last called number or for voiced programmed numbers
still have the same problem...even while listening to music it starts a call.
does there anybody have a solution to disable this button?
Don't press it!
How hard is it to press? I don't know what you are doing to press it but I don't have this problem.
If you just want to listen to music then get a usb to audio out jack off ebay and plug in a nice set of headphones.
why should I buy a audio-adapter if there might is a software solution?
but we don't need to push the button as hard as the buttons on the diamond...it is much softer!
Hi,
YES there is a software solution. I was looking for it for one year, but then I found PlayPause:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498349
Basically, you use the button to pause/play (double "click") and NEXT (long press) while the normal one click answers a call is untouched.
I am using it with COreplayer and it is excellent. Have to try several versions of PlayPause though.
Another solution is Microsoft VoiceCommand but more complicated.
Hope that helps!
cheers
playagiron
This is what i did as a solution:
I grabbed the thing you have to push and kinda pulled it out. Then its broken, but you can still listen music without calling people.
I've searched and searched without any results...
I have the original Handsfree that i got when i bought the touch pro, and i'm wondering if there is anyway to disable the buttons on it? or mabey bind them to do something else? like changing a song.. the main problem is that i sometimes double tap it (when it's in my jacket) and it starts calling the last person i called... its so annoying, the music stops and i have to hurry to cancel the call... i called my parents in the middle of the night because of this.
Help needed!
You're not alone (...even with a post )

Ah bummer.. no answers
i'm thinking of getting some regular headphones instead... but i like to be able to answer the phone without pushing anything on the mobile...

They're actually talking about upping the volume beyond the current maximum, which shouldn't really be too difficult. I'd love to see someone get this done.
i had suggested this before when the phone first came out, and all i got was "take that wax out of your hear! lololz0l"
lol why would anyone install bloat when they can press a button with their hand?!
anyhoo yep deffo need a bloody volume hack for this puppy - or this 18 month contract will kill me!
I was talking about ringer vol its so quiet
Ah ok, sorry i'm talking about the volume of the headphones it blows!
Yah, I'm hoping for it as well...This may be nothing but coincidence, or may be worth a look at, but I experienced something with Jewel Lust. I'd have music playing, and then i'd load up Jewel Lust to play with the game's sound off. And for some reason, when jewel lust loaded, the music got louder even though it was already on full volume. Maybe Jewel Lust has what we are looking for in the code. Since its all open source, maybe a dev or coder could take a look at the source and see what Jewel Lust is doing to cause the volume increase. Could be a fluke for all I know..but the volume >DID< increase from being at full after I started up Jewel Lust.
kooooooooool tep you should be a private eye!

I have my notifications/ringer set to max and can barely hear them in my pocket. I don't remember them being *this* quiet in 1.1. Might just be me though.
(and yes, I have the latest radio/etc).
yeah mine is too quiet as well i wish it had a train horn or something on it lol , then maybe i would hear it
i have it set to vib+ring and still miss most calls , plus i work in louder type environment
i'm sure a seem edit would do it, but seems everyone is afraid of those?
I agree with everything said in this topic.
Someone pelase make it
I am constantly missing calls due to this and its making me pretty frustrated with my awesome phone.
I was reading around and there is supposedly a file called "asound.csv" in the ETC folder where you can change the max volume. I don't have a file called that and the few sound files i cannot see how to do this. Does anyone else have any ideas on how to increase the max volume?

Good news and bad news.
First the bad news: Looking at that site, it looks like that information is in reference to the Openmoto Freerunner, not the G1.
Good news: I believe I've found where the volume config is stored. I've found a pair of CSV files with a good amount of volume related data. I'm not sure if there is a hardcoding of the volume itself in the files or not, but it looks like we're on the right track.
The files are /system/etc/AudioPara4.csv and /system/etc/AudioParaTMUS.csv
Here's some of the contents:

You are right it is for "Openmoto Freerunner" which makes perfect sense now as to why i couldnt find the file. I found the file you put in there as well but it doesn't seem to be very obvious (to me at least) what needs to be changed. I am going to give it a shot though... here is to hoping i can still use my phone as a phone once im done!

If I even had a clue as to how to edit or help you get something going I would but I am clueless. Good luck as it seem quite a few of us need this....
I have spent the last couple of days searching the net trying to find an answer and have come up empty handed. For starters I'm running the Verizon Touch Pro 2. The issue I can't seem to figure out is why does an MP3 file play nice and loud when playing through Windows Media on the phone (maintains constant volume) but when I set it as the ringtone the volume starts off normal but then decreases quite a bit? I have tried this with several MP3s and they all seem to do the same thing.
Going nuts with this.......
Thanks much for any help, input or direction.
Edit: and for the record, yes, I did try both registry tweaking and using the updated AudioPara3.csv with no difference.
Brian
There is a setting called "Be Polite" or something along those lines, it reduces the volume as soon as the accelerometer senses that you have picked up (physically) the phone - I bet that is causing your problem. There is a CAB to disable it in the MightyROM thread on PPCGeeks Here - I am not sure if this will work on the stock Rom or not, but it is worth a try. You may also be able to disable it in settings somewhere, but I am not sure where.
Hope this helps,
Patrick
Thanks much...I greatly appreciate the reply. I'll give it some research. Only issue I can think of is when I'm playing these MP3 files, both in WM and as a ringtone preview, the phone is lying flat on a surface and not being moved at all.
Guess we'll see.....
