Man, it'll be cool if I had a ittsy-bitsy little bar that tells me which one of my yahoo contacts are online. Any ideas?

Well, when I start Messenger, and press "Sign in", I get the message "Signing in to Messenger will add your Windows Live contacts to you phone's address book. Do you wish to continue?"
There are only 2 options, OK or cancel. When you press cancel you can't login.
So there must be another solution.
you must sync your contacts to use windows messenger. In the newer version of windows live, there is an option to not merge duplicates with outlook, but you still must sync them.
This is according to the help file included with messenger.
still no solutions yet?
not that I am away of. this is the most stupid feature ever. I went and deleted them in my contacts but had no idea it would also delete them off my messenger list as well! I was so pissed, i lost everybody...a lot that I don't talk to very often but like to have them on there. no way I can remember their address...

KKK i do the same ****! now i have only half of my contacts.
the unic solution is dont use the live messenger...use some other app like IM+
after installing xda 6, when i signed in to live i only selected the option for email, my msn list never got synced with the contacts list... this was a horrible feature for live and i thought great now they fixed it... i think they are still trying to "iron" out live.... oh i forgot it is a microsoft product...
Hi all:
Let me begin by saying I have searched endlessly, but am not having much luck. I even posted a reply in a very old thread I found here on xda, but never got any replies.
Here is my question, I use Windows Live messenger. On my Windows Live contacts list, I have several Yahoo contacts. I am able to send and receive messages from them through Windows live. I know this is also possible on Yahoo messenger, since some of my friends have my Windows Live ID on their Yahoo contact lists.
For some reason on all of the mobile messengers I do not see my Yahoo contacts.
Do any of the programs support this? Am I just doing something wrong?
So far I have tried IM+, Palringo, Agile, Beejive and Octro.
None seem to do what I wanted.
I don't mind paying for an app that will do this.
Thanks!

Hi:
Thanks for your reply. I have already tried out Agile. This is the message I got from them when I asked why all my contacts weren't showing up:
Hi
I apologize but ee do not support MSN-Yahoo interoperation
It is planned for future upgrades.
Thanks

Am I missing something? When I setup my phone I set it to sync with GMail, contacts, mail and calendar.
Then when I click the mail widget it prompts me to setup an email account???
Why does this not link up to the application installed on the phone. I was expecting to see an indicator on my homescreen when I got new mail.

your clicking on the htc mail icon. which is for other email services (ie exchange, yahoo. etc.)
remove that icon and add the gmail icon to use.
Yep the Mail Widget DOES NOT work with Gmail. Since Gmail is one of those wonderful proprietary apps it has closed API's even HTC can't use so there aren't apps that can read your Gmail inbox. This the HTC Mail widget only works with HTC's mail implementation.
Download "gmail unread count" in the market will do what you are asking for.

Hey, got an idea.
Since MSN went to Outlook and Outlook integrated with Skype and Skype with Facebook... and even in Microsoft account options now you can add FB & GTalk (chat works online) and Twitter for status updates... How about one nice and simple Android app with common chat list (Skype, FB, Gtalk) and Feeds tab (FB, Twitter). Shouldn't be a rocket science.
I was looking for something like that, the whole day. The closest is ICQ(!?!). You can add FB and Gtalk, still no Skype and Twitter (I think there was, API update must be). Even free calls working decently. To point a direction... but Microsoft with Skype, well, worth to think about.

Hello All,
I remember trying to get this to work back in 2010 on my HTC Desire! But had no luck
Is there a half decent way to pull facebook profile photos and assign them to Google Contacts? So that my address book isn't just a series of coloured circles?
I'm hoping there's a straight forward solution
Many Thanks
