I have a strange problem. Every time I hit the 0 key, my phone restarts.
At first, I had a 0 in my pin/passcode, so that was very irritating.
Now, I can only dial numbers using the full keyboard.
Have anyone experienced this problem before?
I am wondering if this is a hardware problem of a software problem.
I used two different firmwares, so I believe it is a hardware problem.
Another strange thing is, that when my phone reboots, it won't ask my for the pin/passcode at startup.
Do you have any third party apps for button remapping installed? Like AEButton...
Look for something like that.
Today, I switched to the original firmware.
And still, 0 reboots the phone so I suspect a hardware problem.
Today I'm gonna report it to my phone company to get it fixed.

I've got a strange problem with my Touch Pro. It works well for two years and one month after end of warranty (don't ask me why) it starts freezing.
I've got standard ROM, I've made hardreset and use only device without any software installed, nothing helped. After few weeks I've noticed that it freezes mostly when some sound is played: when is playing alarm or when I'm typing in navigation with sound enabled and so on. It also freezes in some incoming calls: I was able to pick up the phone and it freezes after 2-3 seconds of the call. The call was not terminated, but I was not able to hang it - only by soft reset. It doesn't freeze in each call - it's quite unpredictable.
Later I turned off the sound and keep only vibration. Phone works without any issue. Of course, when I turn the sound again on, it freezes after a few tests...
Do you have any idea what can cause this? I'm getting angrier after each freeze and I'm sure the device will fly through the window soon if I don't cope with this...
Standard ROM as in non-custom? Do you have any additional programs installed or additional mods applied? You mentioned doing a hard reset, do you experience any issues with your TP immediately after the hard reset or only after any app installation or mods? May need to narrow it down to something more specific. I have no issues what-so-ever with a custom ROM (see my sig) nor additional mods or applications. They'll have to go after my at&t Fuze with an EMP to get me to buy another phone...
It's standard HTC ROM version 5.05.405.1 WWE with Radio 1.01.25.16. I have no problems for two years with this ROM. After the device started freezing, I've made hard reset (twice), but it obviously isn't a software issue - it froze even after clear install with no additional programs or mods applied...
When the TP is frozen, radio still works (so when it freeze in a call, I can continue talking). Sometimes it freeze when I don't answer the phone - funny is it looks like someone is still calling, even the LED is blinking, but I can't do anything. HW buttons won't work, neither power button. Display always stays turned on (as well as I can remember, it never freeze with display off). Soft reset is the only way out of this...
Yeah, I've seen that once or twice (the screen freezes but lights still blinking while the device is stationary) but not lately and not with the ROM I have installed on my at&t Fuze. Have you installed any additional apps or made and modifications? When's the last time you flashed your device? I can't promise you that flashing will solve the issue as it seems very intermittent and random but perhaps it's tied to a specific phone app or mod?
I've got same problem as You.
I was change a roms few times and still not work correctly.
Has anyone can help ?
I still think it's a hardware problem. I have no freeze for two weeks - but it's only because I'm using vibration mode instead of sound. I'll try to disconnect internal speaker to check if it's the source of the problem...
I was in the service and said that it found none of the above-mentioned defects.
They found that this may be dependent on weather conditions (humidity, conditions of work ect)
It is strange, because it rarely encounters this type of problems.
Personally, you're the first person (including me) who has this type of problems
I have not found anything on the forums in my language.
I'll try to look somewhere.
Regards.
sorry for my English
I used this radio and stopped freeze

Sometimes I unlock my phone and the screen remains black, then the phone reboots but weirdly it doesn't ask for the SIM pin number. Other times I notice the phone reboots by itself and I notice it because obviously the screen lights up during the boot animation. This happens very rarely, so far it has happened about 3 to 5 times in a couple of months but it's still mega annoying when it happens.
Does it happen only to me? Is there any way to troubleshoot this issue?

If you provide some logs then maybe someone can see what is happening....
Or even basic information, like the configuration and setup of your device.
Right, forgot my configuration. I have an unbranded Z3 on latest Lollipop (but I recall I had a reboot also on Kitkat), no root, no weird apps like task killers or antivirus or anything like that. Sometimes it just does a reboot by itself, but doesn't ask for pin number so it's not a full reboot.
How do I provide logs again?

Factory Reset can solve ur problem /based on personal experience
I did that already less than two months ago and I refuse to believe I have to factory reset this thing every month to get stable operation. Also I'm not even rooted and I haven't messed with the system itself so why would I need to factory reset? Factory reset implies that there is something that has changed and needs to be re-set, and I haven't changed anything special that would require such a drastic solution. Not having done anything special, the issue would come back sooner or later if I don't spot the real cause.
Anyway, in diagnostics I have 21 application incidents for systemUI... Could it be caused by a bugged theme? Does this happen to anyone else?
Today I had two and I had another one last week. A off these were weird half reboots like I described above. I only noticed one because I was at my desk and the phone lighted up for the boot animation.
These reboots show up in diagnostics (phone info menu) as system events. Can you please check out if you have any system events and post here? I want to know if this is a widespread problem. Post here if you have any and also if you have a solution or way to troubleshoot.
Nobody at all? Really?
Hi all,
I have this annoying problem that occurs ones a day or twice and I have to restart the phone because of it.

Any one had this problem before? Any ideas if there is a way to fix it?

I don't have this problem with my HAM7, though I did previously experience it with an old Sony Xperia. Like you mentioned a reboot temporarily fixed the issue but I had to ultimately do a factory reset to rid the phone of this annoying bug.
Quick question: are you using the original charger that came with the phone? That was another thing that I noticed with my Sony. Its stock charger had died and I replaced it with a cheap third-party one found in the Chinatown of my city. This seemed to trigger this bug, and also caused screen taps to register way off compared to where I physically tapped the screen. This continued until after the factory reset, but still happened when the phone was on charge.
TLDR: Do a factory reset. If that doesn't help it'll probably be a hardware issue.
Hope this helps otherwise good luck!
Ok , listen
when this happens
go to settings , manage aps ,running apps .. then force close FB messenger .. it will be solved that's a bug in fb messenger. u will c

ERM... I changed that phone like over half a year ... Good memories tho rocking the p8max now ... No issues
I've got an Idol 3 that has been randomly shutting down. No warning, no specific activity happening... it just shuts off.
I checked to see if there are any pending updates, no dice... it is up to date.
I was thinking to start deleting installed apps to see if it might be related to something that is running. If no help there, perhaps a factory restore.
Has anyone seen anything like this? Any suggestions?
If a factory reset doesn't solve it, it is probably defective and hopefully you can return it for a different one. If a factory reset fixes it. Only add your apps back one at a time to see if it was a particular app that was causing the issue. Let us know if there is an app that isn't playing well with the idol.
Factory reset is a really good way to pin it down to either software or hardware. Run it with just the stock apps for a day to see if it's solid.
Also, if you have a micro SD card in there, pop it out. If there's any issues with the card, or if that specific one just doesn't happen to get along with the phone..it can cause odd things to happen.
What were the results? My device is doing that too...

Check the temperature of your device as soon after a shutdown as possible.....turn off location reporting in location settings to cut down on gps use which I'm told can cause excessive heat if you find the temp is high (over 100F)
The phone was cold to the touch the last time it restarted which was a few minutes ago. Also I was running the system update and the phone got pretty hot and did not shutdown or restart.
Now that I think of it It wasn't having this restart problem till I ran the update... Maybe it got too hot and broke something...
It did get stuck on updating one of the app packages for a lot longer then the rest. Maybe the update didn't install properly?
I've been having the same problem since the most recent software update. It normally happens when I change the volume in my Opera browser.
Did a factory reset and it didn't fix the problem... Alcatel said to contact returns to get a new phone
I love the phone! I just wish this process hadn't came up. I hope they ship the new one fast, Alcatel has been communicating very fast.
I have the same problem. Only for about two times a week. Has somebody a solution?
Hi all,
Pixel 1 after one of the latest updates turned into almost unusable piece of junk ;/
I do not know if this is OTA update issue or hardware fault, but phone must be restarted frequently, otherwise is almost impossible to make phone call - phone is laggy, screen doesn't respond properly, sometimes must hold power button for several seconds to force reboot, as it is not possible to reboot using the screen.
After reboot seems to work fine until someone is calling - when I answer, the caller cannot hear me and I must restart the phone again to make another try. Sometimes it work and I can talk over the phone, but mostly don't.
Phone never been rooted or anything, always updated with the latest OTA software.
I did factory reset - no change ;/
Is there anything I could try? I was thinking to try to go back to older software, but I'm not sure if this is software issue, as didn't found any other posts on this forum describing similar problems.
It is unusable anyway, so I will try anyhing.

Ive updated to latest ota on pixel 1 and had no problems so far. You could check the dialer app is set as default dialer and all permissions are granted and maybe clear the apps storage/cache, force stop it and re open it and see if that solves anything? Could also check background apps and running services in developing options to see if an app is banging out the memory causing it to lag?

if you already did factory reset then it must be a sign of motherboard is dying soon or bad nand chip. motherboard failing on pixel is very common but it happens to less than 1% of people. there are plent of threads on reddit/xda on this.
What's the status of your Pixel? Is the bootloader unlocked? Rooted? Did you have any such problems on the December udpate?
As mentioned - I did factory reset as I thought it may help cure the problems, but it didn't.
I have never unlocked bootloder and phone is not rooted. All standard here.
I have the latest update installed and same problems persist ;/
I'll try another factory reset today.
