is possible thet radio fm work without headset
No, headset acts as antenna.
You can play it via the speaker, but for it to work the headset has to be plugged in, as it works as the antenna - as posted above.
Hi
I have tried it with one of those mini usb to phono headphone adaptors and while the program will load, it wont pick up any stations. However it did work with my set of senheiser headphones plugged in.
go to registry:
HKLM/System/State/Hardware/Headset set the value to 1
now radio starts but you cannot receive anything because, as MrDerrickC says, headset act as antenna.

Any cable of that nature acts like an antenna. Use Belkin FM transmitter directly connected to the TD and I can receive the FM + Navigation instructions over the car radio.

So you can hear the radio on the radio??????? Ingenious!!! But not to be fecitious, having navigation through the speakers would be nice.
Hello,
At the reception FM radio signal even with the head set is bad. Is it someone in the same problem.
Thank you

Just wondering.

Through the main speaker you can. A headset should be connected though since it works as an antenna. The FM Radio application does not start with no headset connected. I never tried bluetooth.
Very interesting

Does this mean you can switch output between the headset and the main speaker throught the FM Radio application? If set to the speaker, does that output *all* audio through the main speaker or only the FM Radio output?
If all audio comes out of the main speaker that would mean there ought to be a way to bypass the (otherwise know as hardware-) trigger for the headset.
TIA,
Cheers,

Yes, that's correct.

You mean allowing the FM Radio program to run without the headset? Yes, you can already do that with a registry change (someone mentioned in another thread). But I don't see the point of that, as you get zero signal without the headset.
Apart from the headset, you can also plug in the 3-in-1 adapter or the USB to 3.5mm adapter, and the FM Radio program would run.

Hi,
No, that is not what I mean. What I would like to know is if you turn on the radio and set it to output to the main speaker do all other WM sounds (notifications, ringtone or even an MP3 playing with a mediaplayer) also come through the main speaker, even though the headset is plugged in.
It would proof that there must be a way to output sound to the main speaker when a wired headset is connected. A thing that is normaly (or on non FM Radio equiped phones) not possible.
Please give it a try and let me know. And if you have the time, give me a total registry dump of a situation where the headset is selected as output and a complete dump with the main speaker selected. That would make my day
Thanks,
Cheers,
Cacti

And of course, your suspicion is correct. I tried it and could confirm that WM sounds still went through headset. I tried setting the alarm. When the alarm went off, the sound (all the sound, FM Radio + alarm tone) switched to headset automatically. And when I dismiss the notification, it switched back to speaker. And the media player cannot run together with the FM radio. Once I starts the media player, the FM Radio closes.

Hi,
This isn't the answer I was hoping for, but thanks anyway. I gues it means the FM Radio has it's own audio handling. Bummer!

Does the diamond have a FM Transmitter? If not is it possible to integrate a transmitter into it?
Thanks
It has an FM receiver
The Diamond does not have an FM Transmitter, only a FM Receiver. Eg it receives Radio stations.
Would be a good idea but im sure there isnt a way to get a FM Transmitter integrated into the diamond due to space restrictions.
Use Bluetooth for streaming music to car stereo

Lots of devices that will communicate via bluetooth and then transmit via fm transmitter.

I stream shoutcast to my fm radio and moto will find the best fm station for you. If you get a call it will tell you what number is calling you and hit answer and the music stops, caller comes through the speak, done speaking hit talk to end call music resumes.

Has anyone tried any of these? What is the quality like for music and for taking calls? Do you know the dimensions as I use a cradle? I PM'd Ambassador shortly after he posted but never got a reply. I don't want to buy one from an ebayer in a different country but have seen them here for UK: http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=135842
Hi everybody
Is it possible to use the FM Radio without headset on hd2??
change the value in Registry HKLM/System/State/Hardware/Headset value 0 to 1 but i can´t find radioprogramms...
Do you have any idea???
the headset actually is needed because the wire also work as antenna.
So, no headset -> no wire -> no antena.
I don't know if you can change the behaviour with that registry key, but one thing that you can do is short the 3.5mm jack pinouts to simulate the headset.
Otherwise use the wonderful BRadio software.
You will be able to listen to all the radios you want without the headset... directly on the speaker.
Of course it' s streaming, so it means data.

If you short the 3.5mm jack, wouldn't be all sound transferred to "headset"?
I tested the radio app yesterday and I found that the radio can be listen through the speaker, but you still need the headset as an antenna.
Just insert a 3.5mm into the HD2, even if it's only the jack.
You have only to make the hardware to recognize that a jack is inserted
Made this on Diamond. It will work even on HD2.
But remember that the headset cable is used even as antenna, then if you don't use any cable but only a jack you'll have a bad reception
I found other threads related to other smarphones, and it seems that the POCO X3 is also affected:
I can' t hear the fm radio through my bluetooth headphone. I plug an earphone in the 3.5 mm hole as an antenna, and the earphone works, but can't hear no sounds with the bluetooth headphone. The app Monobluetooth router seems has been removed from Google Play (at least in Italy) and other similar apps don't work. Any help? Thanks!
The cable of the headphone itself is used by the phone as a physical antenna, if it isnt plugged, is just like a radio without the antenna! Thats why the fm radio doesnt work with bluetooth headphone.
When I open the FM Radio app, I can't scan for frequencies and hear all the time noise (headphone is connected).
Do the other users have the same problem and/or does someone has a solution?
My radio works. I have tried not with normal headphone, but a Samsung headset. As you know, these headsets does not have a normal stereo jacks, they have another type with the microphone pin. Try it with normal headset. I also have a 3,5mm jack FM antenna from Ebay for smartphones. All phones worked with this via speakerphone. But it did not worked with this phone.
I'm in the UK with an EU model and the radio works fine for me with normal earphones.
