Large Icon to Turn Bluetooth ON and OFF - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hello
Is there any way to create or link, or install, whatever to use a Large Icon to Turn Bluetooth ON and OFF?
Thanks
Mussacredi

in "quickMenu" there is a bluetooth control. try that.
also, in some roms there is a "wireless" today plugin that is also supposed to control wireless connections.
Or you can also use the standard comm Manager.
I think if you search the dev/Hacking forum, you might be able to find something like that.

try AEButton plus (google it).
You can use it to assign a button press to toggle bluetooth (AND wifi).
I use it and it works perfect...I've set it up so a double press of the call button toggles wifi and a double press of the endcall button toggles bluetooth.
You can set it up any way you'd like. You can also create a shortcut that can be used with rlToday to assign a large icon on the screen to toggle it.
(I prefer the button method because it works whether the today screen is displayed or not).

I want to turn the screen off while navigating w/ TomTom 6

I don't have my computer available to me right now so searching is difficult. I just want to turn the screen off to save battery while using the voice guidance of TomTom 6. Is there a small program that will allow me to map this function to a button on my Tilt?
transfer this file to anywhere on your device ... create a "lnk" to it in the "Windows\Start Menu\Programs" & then it will appear in your drop down selection list when you go to assign button to application ( Start -->> Settings -->> Personals -->> Buttons )
Or try SPB Pocket Plus, It comes with some handy shortcuts which enables you to loop through the backlight settings (off, light, lighter, lighter, lighter, off etc)
Just make a shortcut to this option on some hardware button and you got yourself a handy tool. I myself use it a lot while navigating with TT6.
If you're using SPB then why not just add the Screen Toggle to the X-Button enhancement thru options. Saves even more.
Best option would be instaling ppcshutxp and maping one of the buttons to display switch.

WMP. turn off the screen, not buttons. how?

While playing music in windows media player, i assigned a button to "Toggle Screen" function which effectively turns off the screen but keeps buttons alive so i can skip/seek/pause/etc... but the problems is that after about 1 minute, hardware buttons get disabled as well (but music keeps playing), which is quite frustrating when you expect buttons to work but they dont anymore.
i'm assuming its because in my power settings i set it to "Turn off device if not used for 1 minute".... But the confusing part is that i've used to have same settings on my PPC-6800/Titan/Mogul and the hardware buttons stayed on forever after i turned off the screen using WMP's "Toggle Screen" function.
is there an excpetion list somewhere that would turn my device off in 1 minute if not used UNLESS there is "WMP/wmplayer.exe" process running? or maybe there is an different solution that would produce the desired result?
PS: i'm running Sprint's stock rom.
Thanks!
You could use AEButton Plus to assign the Screen Toogle to any button you want (for example to long press the action key). That would work in any application, also in WMP.
tried it and AEButton Plus does the job. assigned the function to the d-pad's down button (center button is used for enter, ok/minimize, close, and task-manager through one click, double click, tripple click, long click respectively)... xcept now there is this half a second lag everytime i want to scroll down with the d-pad. quite annoying...
btw after some experimenting i found that wmp's "toggle screen" function turns off the screen and keeps desired buttons working, indefinetely, only if i disable the whole "Turn off device if not used for x minutes" option (Turn off the backlight option doesnt have any effect on wmp's function). so it seems that this function is causing the problem.
since on ppc6800 wmp's function worked perfect without any hiccups even with that power setting turned on, i suspect that there just has to be some way to replicate same behavior on touch pro. is there some place in registry that controls the power settings and its preferences?
PS: i need to "toggle screen" only when in wmp, cuz in other cases i just use power button to effectively turn off and lock the device using s2u2.
I use WMP's built in function of toggle screen. Set it to hold left. It works like a charm.

what are the settings in your "Start > Settings > System > Power > Advanced" screen? and also, what ROM are you running? because setting 'toggle screen' to hold left and having 'turn off device after x..' set still produce the bug i mentioned in the first post, hardware buttons disabled 40 seconds after initiating 'toggle screen' with wmp...

Toggle Wifi??

Is there a way to assign a button (preferably begin or end call) to toggle wifi? I find myself turning it on and off even when home since it's such a battery hog.
TIA!!!,
Richard
yeah, that would be good
or even an .exe that toggles wifi would be great, so I would put in the programs tab
I hate opening commmanager every time

Yep, an exe would work fine!
Just posted the same on the other thread but here is the solutions.
After a quick search on Google I found a freeware application HButton. This program has a wifi toggle and it can be set to PTT button to turn on/off wifi. I just not tested this program and it is working fine. Here is the link for the program

I use AE Button Plus. I remapped my Fuze's PTT button to toggle WiFi and the Torchlight on longpresses.

When I was using AEBP to do this, I found two problems: first, the action I assigned to single-press was also being performed by the Home key. (Obviously, that can be avoided by just leaving single-press unassigned or by not using the Home key.) Second, I found that keys on my slide-out QWERTY would occasionally repeat 6-8 times, some random key every 20-40 keystrokes.
Are you not having these problems with AEBP? If not, could you explain in a bit more detail which method you used to disable the AT&T PTT functionality and how you assigned that key in AEBP? Thanks!

My pleasure.
I'm looking for something similar to toggle of/one EvDO on Verizon.
I'm in a poor signal area and my battery gets killed when it keeps going between 1x and EvDO.
I'd like to have some easy way (I do it now through the ##* "secret" menu, but it's enough of a pain that it's not worth it) to do this.
Any ideas?
well for the wifi problem you just could have pressed an hold the answer button. the wifi tab opens and you can toggle WLAN, Bluetooth an phone

Searching something like "Wireless Power"

Hi,
I'm coming from a Dell x51v, a really great device. My Blackstone will arrive in the next days, so I'm reading through all the great stuff here in order to be prepared for my new device .
I'm wondering if there is any application like "Wireless Power" for the x51v. This application makes it possible to enable/disable the wifi and bluetooth with pressing just one button. By pressing the button more often it is possible to enable/disable the wifi and bluetooth separately, so you really need only this one button for any connections. For those of you, who don't know the program, just take a look here.
I know that the Blackstone has phone and gps functionalities beside the bluetooth and wifi ones, but maybe there is something similar for the Blackstone, or any other HTC. I know that it is possible to assign certain buttons with certain actions, but not in that clear way, where the application is indicating the state of your connections.
Best regards

Is there nobody able to help me out ?
I don't have a blackstone myself but the touch hd doesn't have many buttons to begin with. You could assign a button to the comm manager (i suggest using h-button, you can assign multiple programs to one button) and access everything from there. Otherwise it may be accomplishable through mortscript mouse click actions, but i have not seen a program that assigns all the comm manager actions to a single button.

Turn data connection on and off via program icon

I have down loaded and am using two great cab files that I am now using on my Sprint TP. One is BT on/off, and the other is WIFI on/off. In particular I have mapped BT on/off to a soft key on my TF3d home screen (easier than having to take 3 steps to access comm manager) Quickly turn BT on and off (toggle).
Does any on know if there are any cabs out there that create a program icon to turn on, and turn off the Sprint data connection (toggle it on and off, like the sliding comm manager feature?
I would map it to another softkey on my TF3d home location. I am already aware of being able to terminate the data connection via the long press option quick list.
I like to turn off the connection, fairly quick after I use it to conserve battery.
I also posted this in the CDMA Threads
