Palm upgrade
On TreoCentral I read about an "announcement" Palm made to have an upgrade available for the 750. See http://www.treocentral.com/content/Stories/1090-1.htm
However, what I was wondering, is our 750 physical limited to 240x240 or is it just the OS that has these limitations? In other words can we potentially do 320x320 on the 750?
From what I hear and have been reading, the current Treo 750 is limited by the physical resolution more so than just the WM5 crippling the screen. I don't think that WM6 upgrade (if/when it will be released to current Treo 750 ownser) will "enable" 320 X 320 because of the physical screen, although I am dilsionally hoping that I am wrong! Wishful thinking.
It'd still be interesting to see if someone could "hack" a 680 to run the WM 6 operating system at 320 X 320
Treo 750's screen is phycally 240*240 lcd matrix, so it will never have 320*320 resolution.
Then, 680 will never run WinMobile6, so it's the vain hopes.
Yep, the 750v is only 240x240, no chance of 320x320.
Here's a thought; could I use a 680 700p etc. LCD on my 750 with WM6 installed ? Will the screen be a direct fit? Will Mobile 6 recognize it
I would be willing to track down a good LCD from a 320x320 screen and install it into my 750 if someone could confirm it would bolt right in.

Actually from what I understand, the WM6 update will enable 320*320 because the current screen size is actually a limitation of WM5. I know this is a Treo750 discussion but I assume you guys also have the same black border surrounding your screen as I have on my 700wx. The fact it will increase the screen size is actually one of the MAJOR advantages to upgrading because WM6 isnt that much of an upgrade to WM5 IMHO.

I've upgraded both of my Treo 750's and I don't get any more screen pixels then I did with WM5 (the black border is still there). From what I've read, the LCD on the 750 only has 240x240 pixels so you can't add what isn't there in the first place.
My original thought was, since the Treo 680 shares the same chassis as the Treo 750, that *maybe*, just maybe the LCD plugs are the same and since the LCD is 320x320, I would *assume* I would get all 320 pixels with the WM6 ...but I'm speculating. I would make the swap of the LCD if I knew it wouldn't make the smoke come out of my newly acquired Treo 750

i have a treo 700wx and am about to upgrate it to WM6, i have searched to see if anyone else has attempted it and am trying to find out if it would work. would anybody know if WM6 and WM6.1 would work on a treo 700wx, can they post a link for the download?

the kaiser is slightly less powerfull (520mhz verses 400mhz) but thats not really noticiable, specially if theres a overclocker coming
