No, it's not my Polaris, christ no.
Anyway, I've got one up for offer; no box but it does come with screen-protector already applied, plus car holder, felt case, stylus, battery.
Condition is mint, it's unused, no scratches, scuffs or damage of any kind.
SIM unlocked and running stock WM 6.1 (yes, I have Hard-SPL'd it)

After trying lots of different cases starting with my first iPaq and finishing with a metal case for the XDA II, I have come to the conclusion that all the case does is MAKE IT BIGGER and stop you from comfortably using some functions, and of course the FLAP ALWAYS GETS IN THE WAY.
Now if you buy Insure Gold £4.99 per month from o2
and the best screen cover from Expansys
PPC Tech i-mate Pocket PC writeSHIELD £16.95
(and I mean the best screen cover it seems to last for ever with very little loss of screen "feel")
You now have the best and smallest XDA ll available. You cannot damage the screen (so you can use anything to write on the screen) and if you drop it, its insured!
Try it - it works
You can put it in shirt pocket without looking like an absolute geek!
Actually I fully agree! I use my XDA II naked with some egrips on the side (www.egrips.com) but for carrying it around I use a slip case from Tuff-As-Nutts (http://www.tuff-as-nuts.com/browser-redirect.html) you can get them without a close over flap, this give the best option in my opinion. Using the device naked is the way it's been designed to be used!
Cheers
Howard
I can only partly agree; as you know, pressure on the screen could cause considerable damage. (Especially pointed pressure)
Be careful guys!
So what - Its insured!
Yes, but with all the horror stories I've heard about O2's service (or lack of) I think its worth avoiding any dealings with them. If you can avoid the hassle of having to claim from the insurance then thats a good thing by me!
Personally, I use a Krusell case for my XDA2 and it is top quality protection for the device and looks very smart too
I agree to a certain extent - I left Orange to get the XDA ll, I thought Orange was the "pits" but I have to say that o2 made Orange look like saints!
However when my XDA ll stopped making any sounds (even after a full hard reset) the insurance changed my XDA ll by next day post!!!!! You cannot ask for more.

If you plan to keep your unit naked then I suggest buying and fitting some E-Grips as they make it much more comfortable to hold and takes away the slippery feel so less chance to drop your unit.

I'm currently using a MartinFields slip case. Doesn't add that much bulk and has no flap so very easy to use the unit.

I also agree that using the phone naked is best - I cannot stand having the cover of one of the leather cases hanging down if/when I have to use the phone without the headset. It is also a pain when I use it as a PDA - it just gets in the way!
To solve this problem I bought a hard belt clip from Seidio. It is actually made for the XDA, but the devices are so close in size (the II appears to be just 1mm or so thicker) that it works. The beauty is that the device is stored backwards . . . so the screen is protected against the hard case. You can remove it with 1 hand - and I have not dropped it yet!
See it here - http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SHLO2XDA
o2 have just cancelled my insurance after 4 claims in 5 months, so be warned
Jim, you are no deemed a "liability", cant really blame them though, if everybody put in that many claims they would be operating at a loss, not really what they had in mind as a business idea, profit is what all business is for after all.
I have scratched the casing of my XDA II quite badly and am a bit upset by it. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement casing for it? Note, I don't need a case, I need the actual housing of the unit. Preferably in the UK, but not necessary.
Cheers
Allan
good luck!, I've been looking for just the rear housing for 6 months with no luck.
there is someone selling XDA2 dummies in Uk on ebay.
Maybe you could use that
nit expensive at £70 but u can get a full o2 XDAII housing at www.siansmobiles.co.uk
ive bought stuff from him before, hes a top bloke.
his msn is [email protected] hes one there alot so you can talk to him on there
hope ive helped
To cut a long story short, i dropped my xda2 in the toilet at work!
so went home and claimed it on my house insurance and i now own a lovely spvm2000 but im left with this xda2 thats been down the pan, the thing switches on and it all appears to work fine except its black listed, obviously coz i claimed on insurance so i will open it up and sling the pcb in the bin, unless anyone wants some componets from that, but i shall not be selling the phone complete or the pcb seperate. so for sale i have everything else here is a list of what i can think of
fully working screen with no scratches
houseing(scratched but back cover is fine)
4 styli (3 in original o2 retail pckaging)
all the box with instruction and sw cd
leather case
aluminium case (scratched)
Genuine Battery
Cradle
thats all i can think of atm, if u want any of it just make me and offer, dont want much for the stuff as its just sitting there redundant now and not being used!
if u can think of anything else that came with the phone that ive not listed let me know and ill let u know if i got it!
mike
Before you throw the board away it will work in other countires, maybe somebody has a knackered motherboard in usa and could use a replacement.
well its still a blacklisted phone, i know it will work in america or other countries but its still illegal, i know it was my pohone that i flushed down the toilet but still illegal to sell it coz it blacklisted so ill just sling it and sell the other parts of the phone
slung it yet?
Hello, I'm interested in your tft display. mine got cracked, and I'm not about to pay the outrageous replacement pricing that the German T-mobile wants...
you'd save the day (month, etc.) if it's still around. By the way, I'd also be interested in the accessories like cradle, pouch belt clip, sync cable, etc. they seem to be designed to last 6 months, and if your belt clip croaks over here (Germany) the telekom suggest that you buy a new leather pouch, "which comes with a new belt clip" (***holes)
all the best

I can't seem to find any accessories specifically for this version of the diamond, no silicone or crystal cases, no in-car holders desk docks/cradles i'm having to make do with a diamond silicone case which doesnt fit too well, anyone found any stuff, t-mobile don't even list this on their accessories site (thanks for putting in a totally useless flyer in the box)
You been here :-
http://www.t-mobile-accessories.co.uk/A_HTC_Touch-Diamond_Prods.html ?
I'm guessing not, unless it's only just gone live ....... There's not all that there though, and no cases at all. I'm using my Bugatti case I had for my MDA Touch as I've not found any thing I like yet.

yes i have but i dont have a diamond, mda iv is diferent shape, crappy generic stuff might work but i want a proper fitting silicone case and a proper matching charger cradle.
guess we have to wait until the US/canada release. then there should be more accessories available for the victor
extended battery with new cover
Guys ,this is long awaited item.Expansys is so fast but costly.
1340mAh with MDA Compact cover
http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=171125
I am interested in full invisible shield and silicone case.let me know if someone has found those for MDA Compact IV not diamond
cheers
hmm. i wonder what the US/Canadian versions of the mda/victor look like. they come with a 1340mAh from stock.
Might just look like this
http://promo.telusmobility.com/smar...ct&sku=DIAMOND#gg=OverviewProductStateDIAMOND
I have looked everywhere for an MDA compact 4 specific silicone case, but no one seems to have one. I bought 2 from ebay for the Diamond, but neither fit very well at all and the stylus hole is not in the right place. Why did T mobile change the design ??
I have to agree, it's pretty frustrating at the minute, I mean you can't even get a screen protector at the minute as the diamond one is the wrong shape as MDA has curved screen top & bottom.
Hopefully now that the P3702 has been released in Taiwan and the US the accessories suppliers will start to provide stuff specific for this shape.
Oh and shame on you T-Mobile, i got one of those accessory flyers with mine only to find there is nothing listed for the Compact IV
try here in awhile http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=168071
but you should be able to get some directly from t-mobile, since there were screen protectors included in the retail box.
an we'll probably get different color backs for our mda compact 4, see here
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/08/15/sprint-readying-a-red-htc-touch-diamond/
and here http://www.slashphone.com/rumor-htc-victor-for-sprint-in-red-151279
already fir for a 1340mha battery.
btw: the htc pouch fits the mda very well.
Still nothing. Something must be out there.
Ya same here, eagerly waiting all the accessories for MDA Compact IV.Loads for accessories are for ugly diamond only at present.
This is ridiculous, someone gotta bring out something for the IV soon.
I too am suffering from the lack of specific accessories for the MDA and I did get 'caught' with a car holder that was supposed to be for the MDA but the MDA is slightly wider... ended up having to shave a ridge off inside the holder (sanded it down as well) and now it's slides in and out a treat (so to speak).
Having said all that I personally think that the design of the MDA is a lot sleeker that the Diamond and even the change of theme I prefer now.

invisible Shield
Finally its out
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
the exim on is excellent foe the mda IV. covers the whole face. leave the zagg one alone unless you want the screen to come off
ful body coverage is not going to work very well as the whole of the bottom section are buttons that are going to be constantly moving and after a while you'll get dirt in it? o.0
Just ordered an invisibleshield thing. What other choice have we got ?
