Spb tips and tricks issues - Palm Treo 750

I was messing around with some suggestions that they list under the "Tweaks" section. I am not sure which one caused the problem, but for some reason I have text running off the right hand side of the screen that can't be read. How do I get back to the Treo 750 defaults in this area without doing a hard reset. As an example: in the "settings" under "system" if you open "clock&alarms" you will loose the minutes of the time settings. 5: is all you can see. I am sure that it is an easy change, however, I have not been able to find it. Thanks.

HELP!! a bricking - how can I hard reset?

I know it is my fault, I was using the Advanced Configuration Tool and thought I could make the screen on the x7510 more sensitive. The result was the opposite and the screen now won't respond to taps at all. So no possibility of screen input.
Without that, I can't use the same tool to put the settings back to what they were before, as it requires a screen tap to commit changes before re-booting. The absence of soft keys on the keyboard makes for problems here.
For the same reason, I can't hard reset using the Clear Storage tool, as that also requires a screen tap. I can't use Resco Registry Editor as that requires screen taps too.
So I am in somewhat of a quandary, happy to hard reset and start again, but no way of doing it that I can see.
Could I re-load the ROM? Someone uploaded the WWE version, but it unzips to three .raw files, which I have no idea what to do with.
Help please!! I need this as I am on holiday, I may be slow coming back to any replies, we are in Laos, where comms are, shall we say, a little slow, and we are travelling about. the first chance i get to sort this out I will use though.
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

If you have access to a PC onto which you may install software, then you can download and install MyMobiler, which is freeware. Get it here: www.mymobiler.com.
This will allow you to control your device from the PC, using the mouse, so you'd be able to make the changes you need to make.
Good luck!

For reference, I had this same problem yesterday. Didn't know of this thread at the time but managed to sort it out. It is completely possible to use the "clear storage" option in Settings>>System navigating using the keyboard. Fn>>OK brings up the start menu..navigate to settings using the cursor keys..press enter to select. Use TAB and cursor keys to navigate around across the tabs to "System" and again from there to "Clear Storage". Select whether to wipe the data stored on the device, on the flash disk or both using cursors/TAB, type "1234" and press the "OK" key. Done.
I had even managed to configure hardware buttons to the left/right soft keys to try to revert the settings in Advance Config, but it seems the effect of completely losing touch screen functionality is irreversible
Or you could obviously use the other method above which I didn't think to look for!! Like I said, just for reference. Might be useful to someone.
TIP: Don't change "Pressure Threshold" in Advanced Config to "Very High" as it will cause your touch screen to stop responding and the only way to get it back is by a hard reset.

Request Help - SIP Question

Hi,
I am just new to this pocket PC phone (just the old HTC Touch) and i tried out installing an IP Phone Keyboard program. When I wasnt happy about it, i uninstalled it but it messed up my SIP. The default standard input keyboard now is cut at the bottom (meaning i dont see the entire last row of Ctrl, space bar, etc.) but there's a black row appearing at the top of the input keyboard. It looks like the input keyboard was dragged down. Worse, the suggested words now appear at the bottom of the screen (where your normal Send or Cancel buttons are).
I really would appreciate your advise and help in getting this resolved. Dont know where to run to or whom to raise this to.
Thank you and looking forward to your response.

Restart your PPC. After that go to settings--> input---> select default input keyboard and try.
Hope it will help.
Are you using the default keyboard?
You can install any other SIP and it should work fine even if the default keyboard's having problems.
You can also hard reset incase you don't manage anything else.
I'm not aware of a bug concerning the default keyboard showing wrong except for something which goes away after a soft reset.
Thanks very much for your responses. Unfortunately, I did all that (set keyboard as default, try installing another keyboard software, soft reset and hard reset) but the problem still persists. I am almost in the vicinity of regretting why i had this PPC.
can you specify exactly which app caused this problem?

Settings-> Personal -> Menus

Hi all, i have problems opening the menus under settings->personal->menus. It does not open when clicked on the icon "Menus". Any idea what is the cause of this issue?
I am using window mobile 6.1
Appreciate your help
Hi,
any help to resolve this is deeply appreciated. the menus is not able to open, is there a solution for this beside hard reset?
thanks
No idea why it has happened, have you tried a soft reset?
If yes, then try a hard reset...
i will not like to do a hard reset because it will be too much troublesome to reinstall all the programs i had.
i did a soft reset and it still cannot open when i click on the icon menus
If only 'Menu' not work, maybe first check the registry for that control panel item, ref. here.
If never play around with registry, please read the guide on this thread first.
The problem may also not from registry, but you may take some time to sort it out.
I would suggest to install QuickMenu First. Then you can take your time to fix it.
BTW if you only want to manage sttart menu, you can do it through editing the subfolders & items inside \Windows\Start Menu\

Locked "boxes" on touchflo start menu - how to unlock/remove?

Hi!
Is there any way of unlocking (so I can remove them) the first four places on the touchflo3d start menu? They just point to tabs, and that feels so utterly unecessary. They also take up the best spots for proper applications, which annoys me even further.
I've googled a bit, but since I can't really even figure out what I would search for, it's not going too well. My apologies if this has been addressed before.
/T
From Someone else, forgotten who the creidt goes to:
"To unlock the default top four icons on the program launcer...
HKLM > Software > HTC > Manilla > ProgramLauncher
then choose your icon to deselect (0-3 although I recomend only changing number 1 and number 2, (people + Calendar) you will probably want to keep Home and Settings as I haven't found a way of getting them back once they're gone!)
"IsReadOnly" set to 0, Soft reset, et voila."
Thanks a bunch both to you and this someone else.

Question [Resolved] Returning the Home Screen to Its Original Condition

I messed up the Home screen on my P7P by moving the shortcuts around. How do I return the Home screen to what it was before a began fiddling with the phone, and without doing a complete Factory Reset?

Manually. Unless you did a backup with something like Swift Backup. If you only use Goggle's backup option, you'll either have to do it manually or factory reset and restore your G backup
I'd rather learn how to do it manually. That brings up another question - how do I get rid of the shortcuts that are at the top of the Home screen?
I've tried dragging them away, and double-clicking them, and I've searched around the various Settings but I have not been able to delete those shortcuts that I created. Maybe click, hold, and then drag?
As I become more familiar with the phone I find that I don't really need them because for my use, they are just duplicates. And a couple of them are duplicated twice.
Clear data of your launcher.

For individual shortcuts, you have to hold and drag them to the top of the screen to "X Remove"...
If you find that there are shortcuts automatically added to your homescreen whenever you install an app from the Play Store, there's an option in the "Home settings" that sets it up that way....
Just some FYIs in case you didn't know...
