Polaris/Orbit versus Orbit 2 (O2) - Touch Cruise General

Could somebody please advice about the HW differences (electrical not optical) between the Orbit I and the Orbit II from O2-Germany?
Orbit II comes out of the box w/ WM 6.1
Could somebody advice, which ROMs WM 6.0 will run on the device.
If some of the cooks would like to advertise his ROM, please advice if its confirmed working for blackberry connect.
Thank you

In hardware terms the Orbit 2 falls to bits more than the Orbit 1

Will there be a Pocket PC SE Upgrade ?

I really am a little confused as to whether 02 will be releasing an upgrade (Pocket PC SE) for the XDA II ?
There is lots of good information around regarding the IIs and IIb, but there is conflicting reports about whether 02 will realease an upgrade for all existing XDA II users.
Does anyone actually know?
October 2004, official rom 1.72 from O2, but still not sure...!!!
and i hope contain WM2003SE.
sorry,...
Even if o2 do not provide an upgrade, I've checked with Imate this week and they have confirmed that they are still planning an upgrade.
I'm also expecting that the new XDA II's will be so similar in terms of hardware that their ROM images will work on the original XDA II
i'm pretty sure that o2's 1.72 is not 2003SE at leas the 1.72 from imate and qtek are not

Ipaq H5450 WM 2005 Upgrade help or information.......

I know this forum is loosley based around HTC PDA's but i'm wondering if anyone can shed any light or help me in my search for an upgrade to my H5450.
I bought this PDA a few years ago and it has been rock solid ever since i got the WM2003SE upgrade.
However after using an upgraded himilaya i have now seen what i've been loosing out on.
I am utterly dissapointed at HP/Compaq for dropping WM2005 support for a £350 PDA less than a year after i purchased it.
I am wondering if anyone has any links to information or indeed a firmware upgrade that would take my H5450 to WM2005??? I tink this pda still packs a lot of features and WM2005 would just top this off.
Again, i know this is a HTC Orientated forum but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you still have the WM2003SE upgrade package? I can not find it anywhere. I have a H5455

WM6 and TouchFlo
The Orbit II is faster (Orbit 201Mhz, Orbit 2 400Mhz), has more RAM and ROM (Orbit ROM 128MB, RAM 64MB; Orbit 2 double of it, 256MB RAM, 128MB ROM), WM6 and Touchflo ;-) (but this i also have on my Orbit 1 ;-) thanxx 2 this Forum )
To answer the first question
Yes - you can update to WM6 officially via O2's website. The upgrade is FREE and very easy
You may be able to negotiate a good deal for a new contract on an Orbit, especially if you mention the Orbit 2 will be out in a few weeks

Orbit 2 vs. Stellar

Hi,
I'm currently using the O2 Orbit (original) phone, and have really enjoyed my time with it. HOwever, I am now due an upgrade
I am debating between the Stellar and the Orbit 2. I don't miss the keyboard on the Orbit (had the Mini IIs prior, which had keyboard of course), but I wouldn't be too depressed to have one. As far as I can see, there's not much to seperate the two phones, but from user experience, which one would you buy, and why?
(or can someone think of any other alternatives?)

Hi,
I found the Kaiser (o2 Stellar) very bulky, that's why I changed. Also fm radio on orbit II, better touch flo experience. Check out the new ppc's from the Barcelona WMC2008. maybe u ll find something worth waiting for. but in any case, i don't think they will be in stock with any operator soon enough for ur upgrade. i d go for the orbit II.

I'm slightly worried about the Polairs' video driver issue... or is this not so much of a problem?
kaiser and polaris suffer from the same driver thing
people report that htc have bulged and will pay qualcom for the driver
they so far been too cheap to pay for
otherwise another possiblity could be other devices comming out using the same chip
like toshiba
Definitely go fot the Polaris, man! I'm tellin' ya
It's slimmer, more solid, and pretty And if you don't miss the keyboard of the Mini S (heh, I also had one, then changed it for a Neo (Prophet) and didn't miss the keyboard ), the Polaris is maybe the best PPC out there.
My opinion - BioTouch is much better than an old touch screen combined with a hw keyboard. And with the number of the input apps out there, it's the ultimate choice.
Tried Opera 9.5 yesterday - amazing. This browser makes your PPC the ultimate mobile internet device and combined with the BioTouch it simply rocks!

Tytan II (Vodafone 1615) - can do WM6.5?

After 2 yrs of good service, my TyTan II (Vodafone 1615) developed a software problem (no phone and contacts, among others) and I had to hard-reset it.
Before I restore from PC back-up, I wonder if there is a possibility to install a later operating system on it.
I am medium proficient in these things.
Tks in advance.
Yes it can do 6.5 but no official builds just custom.
