Hey all,
I've got a Orange branded e650/HTC Vox flashed with Dr Gonzos 6.1.1.1 which is much much MUCH better than the standard orange OS which constantly crashed and locked up, so top work there
Now, I have a bit of a problem, today I woke up to see my Vox had turned itself off, which was a little unusual, i turned it back on and it worked fine, however later at work it decided to start vibrating constantly, the orange charge light and the blue bluetooth lights at the top of the screen where on constantly, the screen had its backlight on but no information was being displayed, i took the battery out and left it for a minute before plugging it back in, it did this twice more during the day, the last time i left the battery out for a good 15 minutes or so before plugging it all back together and now its booted and working properly.
My question is this, is my phone on its way out? Is this going to be a regular occurrence? or is there anything I can do to stop it?
Thanks in advance

Well, maybe you should try to redownload and reflash the ROM. Maybe it didn't flash properly?!
It was flashed a good few months ago now (around march/april time if I remember right) and its being fine since I did it until now :/
Oh, then you might just try a hard reset!

Hi guys,
Was sitting watching TV with my phone beside me for about an hour, it was working fine with about half charge.
I then went to make a call and the phone was off...
I tried to turn it on and nothing, I soft reset the phone, nothing... I hard reset the phone, nothing... I removed and reinserted the battery and nothing...
I plugged the phone in to charge just incase the battery had magically drained, the orange charge light appeared for about 3 seconds then went off... No life whatsoever...
O2 are replacing it with a door to door thursday but I have a flashed rom installed and cant replace the original... Think I'll be ok?
What might have happened to the phone, its never been dropped or water damaged!! Anyone else had this problem? This is my 2nd orbit, the first one was replaced due to the jog dial falling off!
Cheers,
Biscuitboy
I've had my phone just a few days and exactly the same things happened to me. I'm getting it replaced over the next few days. A little worried that it may happen again. Without knowing what may be a possible cause or if it's just poor quality build that maybe to blame.
Would be interested if anyone has any light they can shed on this
Same has happened to me but I have a charge light.
What was the prob with your two did you ever find out?

Hi guys.
They did try to reflow the proc. solders? Some drops of LiquidFlux and heating with HotAir pencil. On P3300 is helped!
try to use another battery,if no work, seems nothing could help
hi all,
This morning i encountered an annoying issue with my VOX. I put it into pocket and then all of sudden it started Vibrating for no reason. The screen went blank (Dark Black). Both the LEDs were glowing constantly, Orange and Blue. And vibrating will just not stop at all.
Removed the battery and put it again after 10 minutes, thinking it might make my VOX work after it is WINDOWS (Restarting must work...) but to no good. As soon as i tried switching it on, it started vibrating again and kept doing it until i switched it off back.
Tried doing hard reset, but it never responded.
After 30 minutes of Battery out of Mobile, I tried switching it again, and this time it worked.
Any ideas, what might have gone wrong??
FYI...
Using Fireburned Neo 0.7 version Rom and nothing else installed on it.
Any ideas, guyssssss...???
Thanks much
Loku
I also use this rom v0.7, i never had this problem, it is odd...
Maybe an hardware problem ?

Thanks guys..the problem seems to be solved now. no more constant vibrations..But the battery is drained like hell now. Earlier it used to take me some 2 days to charge my VOX but frm this incident i m almost charging it every 10 hrs..Reallu fishy hmm?? well i will try to flash V 0.8 for NEO rom and see if it still continues..then i may need help from u guysss
Thanks much

I upgraded the rom in my Epix and it worked fine for several days. Then one day it hung up and powered off. Now when i boot it, it goes to the Samsung screen and then goes dark, about a minute or so later the LED indicator rotates through all of it's possible colors a couple of times and then turns solid blue and stays that way until the battery dies.
Any ideas on how or if it's possible to fix it. Obviously it's bricked atm but i didn't know if there was something i could do to reflash a rom to it and get it working again.
Thanks
Have a look in off topic, there is a thread regarding samsung, or try winmodevs, as you know we dedicate to HTC devices mainly.
Good luck,
mine did this just out of the blue today. with the original ROM. (never even have upgrade to the ID1 yet) had a full battery this morning, did this while in my pocket at lunch. screwed with it for a while then just left if there on the blue light. later that night. i tried to turn it on again and it actually booted this time. but everything was wiped out. like a hard reset had but down.
I really don't know if this is possible or not.... but I might need to get some new corduroys after a case of the brown adrenalin with my new sensation.
Got it Friday as could see progress on the rooting and sure enough Revolution came up with the goods same day. Rooted it Saturday.
Fully charged it, switched it off and went back to the HD2 - flip case and car kit arriving today. Really don't wanna damage my new boy toy by pocketing it with car keys etc.
Stone me though I thought I bricked it. Wouldn't switch on this morning - just a dark flicker of the screen. Sweat pouring off my forehead. Never bricked a device and flashed my HD2 & TP2 a million times and my £450 unlocked handset is 3 days old and dead..
Long and the short of it is plugged in the charger again and a few minutes later it powers up - 3% battery.
Is it possible it could drain switched off? Or should I blame the kids for messing with it and deduct my dry cleaning bill from their pocket-money?
After I rooted, I had to do a battery pull until I was able to turn my phone on again, although this doesn't really replicate what problem you had...
The battery does not drain if the phone is turned off.
Question is, was it definitely turned off?
Even if it wasn't, there's no way a full charge is going to drain overnight... Unless you had a Satnav running...

You're right - it SHOULDN'T... I'd rebooted no problems several times after the rooting. Some OTA update came over and didn't install successfully though.
It'd be very odd (and a warranty issue, get ready to go into rooting reverse) but for now I'm inclined to just blame the kids. Unless anyone else has has similar experiences.
I guess time with it will tell.
EDIT: Apparently it's a known issue and has been fixed with the new CWM update! See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
Ah ha, looks like it's not just me!
This just happened to me today and I had to change my pants because I thought I bricked it. I rooted it and installed InsertCoin no problems!
Today, as it jumped off my WiFi and onto the mobile network it got stuck on "Disconnecting from Morsolo's WiFi" and just sorta froze there (the phone still worked, but it wouldn't fully disconnect from WiFi, so I got no mobile data).
I turned the phone off via normal methods (40% Battery)... Then it wouldn't turn back on. The phone was a little bit hot at this point, but it does heat up so I thought nothing of it.
For a good 30 minutes, nothing happened. All that I could see happening when I attempted to turn the phone on was, the screen backlight would turn on, fade off, turn on, fade off. No boot, no recovery, nothing.
I tried charging it and it would show the indicator for 2 seconds and stop charging (but this is a known issue, apparently it continues to charge regardless).
After numerous times pulling the battery, trying to start, charging, battery, start... I finally managed to get it to boot and it said the battery was at 3%... After the phone was STONE COLD DEAD for a good 30 minutes to 1 hour.
...I just got home (with a dead battery, of course) and now that I've plugged it in again, it wont boot, again.
I think we've discovered an issue.
EDIT: Good man. Thanks for the update. Better get onto that right away.
Yup.. that's the same experience... except I'm still on stock rom with tweaks.
What do you reckon - flash back to stock and see if it still happens? Really don't want it turning into permanent paperweight with an iffy bootloader for someone at warranty to find with their JTAG.

Not sure if anyone has any new ideas as I've had this happened before and had to get the phone fixed with new motherboard. My phone has been working ok with the official ICS update. It's rooted. Things seem to be a little weird the last few days with the phone hanging and sometimes the screen will just turn into this fuzzy appearance and yesterday while it was just sitting on my desk..it seem to be using a lot of power with the battery going to 4% from 80% in just 3-4 hours idling. IT also got really hot while charging, so i turned it off and rebooted. Thought it was fine.
Then last night, while charging, it seem to be sluggish. so I restarted the phone. But after it turned off..it won't respond anymore. No light when plug in for charging, or plug to computer...cannot go into bootloader with vol down / power.
I had a similar experience before when the phone suddenly died 3 mths ago and thought it was related to a custom ROM, but HTC replaced the motherboard...now it's unresponsive same way.
Time to send back again? Or anyone have new ideas about this?
Take out the battery, put it back in. Try to turn it on. Still nothing? Volume down and power. No bootloader? Sorry, its probably dicked.
There's other things to try, but from what ive gathered, they probably won't help.
