Cleaner for PPC - General Topics

Sorry for starting a new thread here. But does anyone here know what is the best and free PPC cleaner?
After many installed and uninstalled, etc. I would like to clean up the registry and temp files left behind. Thanks in advance.

Free calculator with BIG KEYS??

Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a calculator for WM5 that has nice, BIG keys?
Thanks guys!
Dax.
Try gCalc
You can even change the skin
There's also 1-Calc Lite. It was offered as freeware by Microsoft at one time, but I don't see it on their site any longer and it's no longer on Omega One's site, either.
So, I've attached the install file and some screenshots.
Thanks OldSap!!
All the best,
Dax.
Thanks Newbie2!
Those fullsize keys look great to use.
tyvm,
Dax.
1-Calc Lite doesn't installed on my WM6 PPC
I unzipped the installer and I tried to install the 1-Calc Lite.exe on my Hermes. It failed and returned the message that the "CalcLiteOL' is not a valid Pocket PC application. Does this app works for WM6 Professional? It's a shame if it doesn't. The app is very useful and usable.
My mistake
Oops. Silly me. Found out how to install the app after all. That it needs to installed from a PC.

I'm running it on my 8125 with one of the WM6 TouchFlo ROMs. It's installed to my storage card and works without missing a beat. Even when I feel the urge to feed my flashing addiction, I never have to worry about reinstalling it. . . . probably the most useful calculator/conversion app I've run across.

Thanks very much. You were right. I missed that.
Thanks its a really good calc
I use CALC98 .
http://download.cnet.com/Calc98/3000-2053_4-10055799.html
What I like it's the way we can configure almost everything :
-How many row options, the button size , font size..
I used since I had my old IPAQ 6515 and it's working very well on My Omnia II (WinMo 6.5)

Delete contact categories in WM6

I made some extra categories to link to my contacts.
but there are a view that i never use.
does anybody know a way to delete those?
Thank you!
I've got the same problem with my HTC Tytn on WM5. No doubt it would be a similar response but short of a registry edit I'm not sure. I've searched all the menus with nothing
If I find out a way I'll let you know, but if you're on WM6 it might be different. :!

Install Pocket Informant and then bring up the categories and delete the ones you want. Once complete, remove PI and all should be well.
Doesn't look like an option...
There is bound to be a setting in the registry. If I find one I'll post well.

Don't be. It was probably me when tired. I'm doing a lot of 14h days at rotating hours 14h work, 2h travelling, 9h rest, and onwards
I know this post is very old but here it goes. I read this in a MS forum and it worked on my Treo Pro.
"To delete a stale category this worked for me (I have a WM6 phone): ensure no tasks/contacts/calendar appointments have that category. Create a new task, assign the stale category, then delete it."
Hope this helps
bump, on my HTC Touch Pro you can't assign a category to a task. Anyone have any other solutions?

Uninstall & Reinstalling programs on TC

Hi guys,
I believe most of you guys do alot of installing of application on your PPC and then uninstalling it to upgrade or just sick and tired of the application already.
I am just wondering, in PC, if you didn't uninstall properly.. some files are still in the PC and especially in the registry.
Does this happen in a PPC ?
If so, what programs are there to totally remove it leaving no trials ?
On PC i use tuneup utilities/ccleaner... how about PPC ? What kind of apps do you use ?

Get yourself skTools or MemMaid. They do a better job of completly uninstalling apps than the default remove programs control panel.
thanks for your response!
I been the website of both SKtools and Memaid... seems like Memaid interface is much nicer comapred to SKTools.
Have you tried both ? Any comments about it ?

I own both. Yes, you are correct that the interface of MemMaid is a bit more polished. Before MemMaid 3, I would have to use both . However since MemMaid 3 added many features, I now use it exclusively.
Aside from the interface, both do work well.

Hello .. Please I need Clean Up Utility App. for HTC HD2 to remove unneeded files such as temp files etc ...
Regards,
you can use memmade or pocket mechanic
Memmaid 2.3
i recommend memmaind 2.3, works really good and finger scrolling on the hd2 is spot on. your able to go in clean anything and it has a reg editor when the advanced mode is turned on. only down fall, it's expensive.
The best one I've tried is SKTools but you'll have to buy it..

You can use ClearTemp, it was a program I used to use on my SPV M700 (Windows 6.0 or 6.1), but I've found it works well on the HTC HD2.
It can be found at http://rapidshare.com/files/77740251/ClearTemp.cab.html
Try CleanRAM

[Q] How to uninstall a cab with no Start Menu access

Hi all.
I did something foolish; installed a CAB, restarted the device (6.5.3), and since then I lost access to the Start Menu.
The simple yet long solution would be to reinstall the entire OS from flash (clean boot); but I hope I won't have to go that way. My device was working really good for the past few weeks, and it took me a long time to get it there.
So, is there a way I can access the "Uninstall Programs" shortcut/program without access to the Start Menu?
I've got a QVGA Motorola Motosurf A3100, running WM 6.5.3.
Thanks in advance,
Mr. Hat.
Can you access a file explorer?
If yes goto Windows/ControlPanel.exe
good day.

boo. sorry. 6.1 has that you would think that much would not have changed between 6.1 and 6.5.
The next thing I personally would do is SKTools. Very handy app, it's the only way i un-install programs anyway. Gets rid of all windows miscellaneous debris that windows leaves behind. Program has many other cool features.
good day.

DUDE!!! you HAVE SAVED ME!!! or at least spared me a clean boot, plus reinstalling everything, plus configuring... you've saved me a lot of time and effort.
SKTools did do the trick. Bentsi (that's my device's name) is back to normal.
thank you, thank you, thank you!
