I cannot afford these outrageous prices! Plus, it's not readily available in the US. Anybody have a used or know where I can find a refurbished unit? I've been trying to do my research and am finding discrepancies all over the place: Pocket PC Phone Edition vs XDA II vs MDA II vs QTEK2020 vs Himalaya, etc. I'd even be interested in a used XDA I for a much lesser price.
check your PM...
I've got an XDA I for sale now that I bought a II. I picked up my XDA II on eBay in the US for $605, near-new. Luckily for me, nobody here seems to know what they are and few people bid on it.
If you're interested in my old one, let me know. The case has the usual paint peeling, but it's perfectly functional and the screen is 100% mint (always had a PPC Techs protector, included). It has always lived in an EB leather case, also included. Got a few spares like an extra headset and probably some other stuff, need to go through my stash.
ive also got an xda ii for sale second hand all works fine but blocked over here in the uk would ship to us if buyer pays shipping cost full boxed as new even got tomtom 3 navigator installed on it but you would need us maps and a gps unit n e body isnterested make me a reansonable offer remember the xda ii phone will not work in the uk i have tried and tried to get it unblocked but found out som ebody i brought if from sold it then reported it lost so they claimed for a new one and the one i had of them the network operator block so i was well ripped off so thats the reason ive putting it up for sale any body intrested in this pm me and make an offer
Hi, I've a Xda o2 ignito, where can i find an extended battery with the rear cover?
thanks
Have trawled far and wide on the web but no joy.
I have been told by O2 shop staff that O2 are bringing one out in late November tho.
Will wait with baited breath !
Sorry to hijack your thread, but can anyone with access to both the T-mo MDA c4 and an Ignito confirm that the back covers are the same or if they are slightly different ?
hi, I've found the battery and cover:
http://www.expansys.it/p.aspx?i=173907
For me is too expensive
He He,
...now we're waiting for a new car holder to fit our thicker diamonds.

Hi,
I have both the XDA Ignito and T-Mob C4 and the backs are a different shape and colour and also have different securing points.
Phil
You may think there are so many cases for the MDA Compact IV touch diamond but i am looking for the original carry pouch for the MDA, as i missed placed the one i got, is there anyone that wants to sell theres. None of the suppliers stock it for some reason.
Having seen the carry pouch supplied with the MDA, I think you'll probably be offered loads.... its horrible, and more than a bit, err, girly.
My sister wants the phone so i can get the touch pro so the pouch be perfect for her and it go well with her ipod sock, dont ask
Hey, I think i've still got mine somewhere if your still after one
Damian
MDA IV Case
I still have mine new in condition if you want it. Pay for shipping and it is yours for free. [email protected]
I've looked everywhere, but can't find a decent carkit/active-holder for my MDA Compact IV.
I've tried the 'Brodit Active Holder for the Touch Diamond', but it doesn't fit due to the rounded corners.
Is there an active-holder for the MDA Compact IV?
Hope so...

That's interesting and helpful. www.brodit.com certainly reckon they have an active kit for T-Mobile Compact IV, but after your post I checked to see if this was a different part No from HTC Diamond, and sadly it was not.
I was just about to order one too. Does it just not fit well, or not at all?
EDIT
Hang on a minute, what exactly are you saying.
On inspection of the part number 968843 or 971843 I can't for the life of me understand how the rounded corners would make any difference.
From their website
Item no. 968843 fits:
HTC P3700 For all countries
HTC Touch Diamond For all countries
O2 XDA Diamond For all countries
O2 XDA Ignito For all countries
T-Mobile MDA Compact IV For Europe
Some more feedback from you would be really helpful

Not at all! The salesman (at the pdashop.nl in The Netherlands) tried to place my MDA Compact IV into the Brodit active holder, but it wouldn't fit at all...
I hope there are other active holders for the MDA Compact IV...
Maybe CARCOMM or ADAPT active holders

I'm not looking for an argument here, and I fully understand that you went to pdashop.nl and the salesman could not get the Compact IV to fit, but is there the slightest chance that the salesman did not have the diamond/compact IV active holder (in other words the htc diamond would not have fitted either.).
I understand that the compact iv has rounded edges, but I believe the USB terminal is in the same place. I also believe that they are the same thickness and width. The design of the Brodit (of course I'm just looking at a web picture) does not indicate that rounded corners could cause the problem.
I have not compared diamond to compact iv side by side, but in your opinion where was the problem. I can only think it must be the side holders.

On the box, I saw that the brodit holder was for the Touch Diamond, there was also a dummy of the Touch Diamond in that store, and I held my MDA Compact IV next to it. The back is so much different. Everything on the Compact IV is rounded and maybe just a little thicker...
From the specs
TM Compact IV 101 x 52 x 12
HTC Diamond 102 x 51 x 11
I have spoken to the following company in the UK
http://www.dsldevelopments.com
They assure me that the HTC Diamond brodit kit is fine for the TMobile Compact IV. They actually fit a comparable phones into the cradle prior to offering the unit on their website.
I mentioned your issue and they said that normally when this kind of thing happens, one would find that the unit itself was faulty. Apparently the cradle itself is hand finished [his words not mine] and sometimes a rogue unit can be manufactured. So his belief is that the diamond would also not fit into that actual unit.
From the specs on the previous post I would be almost certain that a tolerance of 1mm would not be the issue.
Anyway, the company above do export, and the cost of a telephone conversation should not be too expensive. Call and speak with a guy called Dave or Alan (sorry I can't remember).
However I suggest you go back to pdashop.nl and try another unit.
Hope this matter will be resolved. I can't quite make up my mind which fixture to choose yet, so I am not in a position to order.
However if mine does not fit, I have been promised full refund.

THANKS a lot!
I will go back to the pdashop.nl to try other active Brodit holders and let you all know the results!
anyone know a cheap site to get these from? i priced it up and it's gonna be like £45 with the car mount also, and this was from http://www.dsldevelopments.com
I ordered the Brodit proclip from Morpethmobiles for £14.95 delivered and the Brodit passive holder from www.qfonic.com for £16.95, both prices included delivery
The holder is for the Diamond as I couldn't find a dedicated mdac4 one, but reading around the consesus is that it they are the same
I'm just waiting delivery. Morpethmobiles has taken a while, but then again they have probably been under water for a week!
just ordered this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HTC-Touch-Dia...39:1|66:2|65:12|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
I've got a Carcomm CMPC-129 MOBILE SMARTPHONE CRADLE HTC TOUCH DIAMOND P3700. It fits perfectly for my MDA Compact IV.
http://www.carcomm.nl/carcomm/websh...ProductId=57F3F689-5056-8659-086FE80C261B4BB7
hey there, any chance of a pic of your compact iv in the cradle?
I'm not doubting you at all its just i'd like to see how it fits in and relate that back to the promo pic you posted with the diamond in to see the difference.
Thanks
Damian
I bought a Brodit car cradle with 3 in one adapter that fits my O2 Ignito perfectly. Got mine from Expansys UK but there are a number of websites that sell it, just google it for the best price.
On the Brodit.se website there is 2 different versions of the passive holder:
848843 - this looks like the standard 'Diamond' holder
848862 - this looks similar to the 'MDA compact IV' as its also got rounded corners on the phone!
I recommend car holders from German company Herbert Richter. Everything is made in Germany si you can expect quality to be great. There's a wide selection of suck mounts with replaceable dedicated mounts. This way I've had the same holder since vario II. plus Touch Diamond dedicated holder is a good fit for compact IV. You can get them on eBay or from expansys.
a nice one if you want your MDA compact IV in landscape mode.
from Ebay
I have used HR-parts on my previous PDAs as well. While HR does not provide holders for every device on the market, what they offer is of good build quality and works just fine.
They have been a long-time OEM-supplier for HP/Navigon-bundles.
Have fun!

Maybe this will do? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=463753 bought is for 25€ ok its a lot of money and to start sawing in such a item isn't something what makes it better but whit a smal multitool you can make it fit as you can see in the obove mentioned link I made it fit a 2000MAh battery and that need much more space as a MDA Compact (never thought I should help someone with a %$%&*^%#$#@@$%^^ T Mobile account)

Hi,
I have an O2 XDA orbit II that works perfectly even after 2 years. I have flashed the 6.5 ROM from XDA-Developers, and the phone's a treat to use.
But, the only downside is that there are a lot of scratches on the screen, that are visible, due to my carelessness.
Is there a way to replace this screen with a new one?
And, if so, where can I get the exact replacement part from?
Thanks for all, for help.
DG
Try ebay i got a full housing and screen for £10 "seems Genuine enough" just do a search for xda orbit 2 screen. There is guides on here for disassembly and screen replacement.
Hi, I have now ordered one from EBAY.
But, it would help if you could provide me the links to the above mentioned guides for Disassembling..
