how to change boot screen (the very first one) - Touch Cruise General

I want to change the boot screen on my O2 touch cruise (aka HTC Polaris). I'm talking about the O2 logo (the very first one during bootup), but not WM6-logo (some people call this splash screen) or alike.
I'm pretty confused , there seems to be no unambiguous answer to this. All solutions I've found so far are for other models, and I'm unwilling to play with flashing programs written for other devices.
Is there any, preferably noob-friendly, way to change the boot image?
TIA

Try this one.

Apache Verizon boot/splash screen Cannot change? Help =)

@ Buzz I have unlocked and unhidden the extended rom on the Verizon Apache PPC WM5 phone. I want to change the splash screen and have tried everything but it does not work. I have tested and verified I can delete and write to the extended rom. Arrrr I am tired of seeing the Test device and not for sale splash screen. I love my Universal!!! It was pancakes to change the boot screen. Any input would be fantastic. I am at a loss.
Thanks,
Mikee
That should help.... This way you dont have to re-flash the rom
splash-screen-randomizer

Update: well i thought this is for the "test only not for sale thingy" but instead it lets you pick a screen that replaces the windows mobile logo (the green screen after the test one)

Orange startup screen

Hi
Getting a little confused here, right theres a couple of things that are really bugging me, one of them is the very first screen when turned on is a orange screen (the phone is unlocked and has a o2 sim in it) I would like to have this screen either in line with o2 or different. There is also one of these screens just at the end when the phone is turned off.
Now Im assuming that these screens have to be flashed, I herd the screens refered to as splash, start up, and a few other terms. Are these the splash screens or do these come later, and will flashing get rid of these screens ?
I've never flashed on this phone before, but have done on lots of other devices.
TIA

The splash screen shown on boot is flashed to the device, some ROMs here come with a splash some don't - in this case the splash that is present on your device will remain after flashing an OS only update. You can create your own splashes or extract them from other ROM packages - all the information to do this is on the forum (don't have time to give exact links, but it's there if you search).
The splash shown when the device is turned off is usually found in the \Windows folder on the device itself. On the Orange phones it's called Orange_shutdown.bmp and Orange_shutdown_L.bmp (for the landscape image).

AT&T Boot Screen Change

Friends,
I was able to perform this on my tilt where I could change the boot screen where you can change the at&t logo startup. The rom had to be flashed with the new screen, but I am not sure if this can be done with the fuze/raphael.
Would someone assist and point me in the right direction.
Thank You,
Tvos
Well you could flash a whole new rom to the phone or you can simply search for splash screen and either flash the new splash screen or I believe that you can take a .gif and rename it to something like welcome96.png and drop it in the windows folder, I can't remember exactly, but just do a search for splash screens.

is that it?
i was looking at the splash screen earlier and thinking about what could be done. ive been trying to remove alot of att branding on my phone. does anyone know what the original diamond/tp boot splash screens looked like?

Change carrier boot screen.

Ive done a quick search but cant really find answer or i cant use search properly lol. Ive found threads about changing splash screen which im thinking is the Windows screen, But what im after is a way to change the brand boot screen like my tmobile for example?
I previously did this on my HTC Touch and bricked it so i had to use a recovery rom and that then gave me a "smart mobility for testing only" boot screen. Can i safely do this with by Uni and add a new one?
Somebody please point me in right direction.
Regards.
try this:

p.s. the threads that you found on xda, they are for the first screen too ( to change the T-mobile,Vodafone, etc. logo)
just can't find it right now.
i repeat they are NOT for the second (windows logo) screen
nice1 thanx, just done it and it works perfectly
I cant have read the threads properly, probably too tired at time. Gunna create my own and have another go.
i'm glad that it worked
Having strange probs flashing these screens, When changing from one to other sometimes they dont seem to change properly and instead overlap old one half way down or something.
Managed to get a decent looking screen but with black bar at bottom, will settle for that for now and try again tomorrow.

Endless alignment loop on Touch Pro

Hi all,
I bought a second hand Raphael on eBay. The previous owner said he flashed WinMo 6.5 and a HardSPL. Something seems to have gone wrong somewhere, because WinMo starts up and shows the welcome screen and then the touchscreen alignment dialogue over and over. As soon as I touch all five points, the alignment process starts again.
I have already re-flashed WinMo 6.5 an 6.1 with the same results. I have also added a WELCOME.NOT file and tried a soft reset. The file just disappears after the reboot.
The boot loader says as version numbers:
R 1.14.25.05
R 52.63.25.34u
D 5.00.00.00
I'd be glad for any pointers. Maybe a pre-calibrated rom?
Also, I actually want to run Android on the little fellow. Could I just try to flash LightNHB and run Android from there?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Kevin
That's not the bootloader screen numbers, but I don't think that's the problem. It may just be a crappy rom on there. Getting to the alignment screen is a good sign that the device isn't bricked. I would say just flash another rom; use one of the android-starter roms if that's what you want on there.
Thanks for the answer, unfortunately it seems the touch screen is broken
I managed to install Android using LightNHB, worked a treat. Androids calibration screen seemed to take all five poinst, but the coordinates it printed out where all on the same y-coordinate. The touch screen doesn't work in Android after that (I mean, how could it ).
I'll have a look around to see if I can buy a new screen for cheap.
