Problem with azerty config - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi all,
I've posted in Laurentius's thread (and by MP to him) but no answer to my problem, so sorry but I post here new.
I've flashed my Kaiser with L26 Diamont V5 rom (because of a problem with another L26 rom, finally reproduced again with L26_V5).
Problem: my Kaiser was taping himself alone some lines of text/caracters when I was using phone pad, sms or other tool which needs to tape some text.
But I think I've finally found the source of the problem (mading tests), now I need a solution.
I explain:
I found on the forum how to change qwerty keyboards by azerty keyboards:
- HKCU\keyboard layout\Preload
Default = e001040c
- HKCU\keyboard layout\Preload\1
Default = e001040c
- HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
CurLang = 1036
- HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
Active = 0000040c
So I made those changes, and soft reset.
And after the phone writes alone text/caracters without stopping
I can't stop it without a soft reset, and after the problem comes back. So hard reset and it's ok (but with keyboard in qwerty... )
Conclusion: I can't use azerty keyboard with 6.1 roms. I'm french, and my hardware KB is french too. If somebody knows the solution...
I've used the integrated configuration tools too (to change in french) with soft reset, but keyboard was always in qwerty.
Thanks

i don't remember who but i'm pretty sure i remember someone posting cabs somewhere to change all that stuff, ie make qwerty keyboard azerty, run a few searches and you should be able to find it

I've already search... all I found are BDR changes

Hi
As I search to change QWERTY TO AZERTY I found your post so I've try your method on my french Kaiser and it works fine.
on
- HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
CurLang = 1036
have you turn switch to decimal?

No, it wasn't specified so I let as it was (hexadecimal).
Did you change the other keys of the list too? Did you make a soft reset to apply?

No I've do everythings like you

What configuration tool are you talking about ?
Does it permit you to change also the language of the menus or only the keyboard layout ?

Schap's Configuration Tools.
You can't change the language of the menus with a tool, only change of rom to use another language.

I found a solution for virtuel keyboard...
-> PocketCM Keyboard

Thanks men! saved my life.

Installation steps:
1. Install HappyTappingKeyboard.arm.CAB (to device, not to Storage)
2. Install Default_IM_WM5.CAB (to device, not to Storage; for WM5 only; if u already have other program which can set the default Input Method, skip this step & use that program instead)
3. Extract the files in ip_AC_Skin.zip to your PDA's "\My Documents"
4. Goto the "Option" of HappyTappingKeyboard (Start -> Setting -> Input)
- select "\My Documents\ip_AC_QVGA_P.bmp" for the ";Portrait Bitmap"
- select "\My Documents\ip_AC_QVGA_L.bmp" for the "Landscape Bitmap"
(if your PDA is VGA capable, select the ip_AC_VGA_?.bmp instead, and select the VGA option)
- press "OK" to quit
5. Start -> Program -> IMSelector
- select "Happy Tapping Keyboard" as the default Input Method
6. Soft reset your PDA
7. Enjoy!

Does this support autocompletion (or autocorrection as the iPhone keyboard software)? If so, in which languages?
The software itself does not support autocompletion, but this functionality is already provided by windows (you get a list with words matching the letters you've typed so far).
I'm also using Happy Tapping Keyboard & have a selection of skins including the iphone. Good application, easy to type with a finger due to it being larger than standard.
Now uploaded to site:
This is fantastic, thanks for your post. So much bigger and easier to use than the default.
Nice !!
Thank you
Where does it come from ? WM6 ?
Finally. A workaround to not being able to skin the WM5 keyboard. Still wish I could skin the default keyboard, tho - but there's never a decert ROM for a device that comes with WM5 by default...
Can someone upload it to 4shared.com, please. Rapidshare is suck.
Thank you!
Just installed it and tested it. Great piece of software. Good bye Resco Keyboard. This make it easier if you want to using your thumb plus it looks great, just like the i-phone. I hope they don't go shut this down too.
Can not get it to load, see it in drop down list, but refuses to activate? Do i need the IM_WM5.CAB? can change between all other choices and Resco Keyboard. Would like to try for one handed smsing. Any help appreciated.

Try a soft reset, a friend had the same problem, he tracked it down to a conflict with another keyboard.

How to make it my default keyboard. I tried input options bus since it is in other language i can only see little squares. It works if i choose it from the sip menu down the screen, but after soft reset i loose it as default.
Tks!
Don't even try! I did it using sk tools and it ended with a hard reset...
accents?
Anyone knows how to use accents on that keyboard? (or french keyboard)

How to set "keyboard" permanent

Hello all,
I want to use the normal "keyboard" for input instead the "touch keyboard".
If i select keyboard for input these settings are changed if i do a softreset.
How can i do this that "keyboard" is the defauft for input. Is there a registry hack?
Thanks Yoshi
u can find small cab (sipchange.cab) somewhere in development or universal thread(really dont remember) That'll do the trick.
EDIT: I found it on my PC, attached.
Hello,
I've just tried sip.cab and it dosen't work for me. HTC cruise SFr edition from France. Thanks anyway
Too bad, if anyone has an idea, which can help.. It'd be great
Do you copied a link to the autostart folder with the SET parameter?
On my device (O2 Orbit2 with German Rom) I have the following .lnk file in the austostart folder (Sipchange.exe ist in the folder Programme\SIPChange):
sipchange.lnk, that links to: "\Programme\SIPChange\sipchange.exe" SET
Hope, that helps. It works really fine on my device.
Best regards
Starwalker
My mistake guys, everything works fine, i thought it would modify htc keyboard automaticly.
I didn't know it was a program Sorry about that.
Thank you phsnake for the direct link and thank you Starwalker to give me the right way i was in need to follow !!!!
Regards
THat might be a prob with cab, because its probably hardcoded (\Windows\StartUp\) instead of proper name for "Startup" in Ur lang. (French, German....) Try to do it as Starwalker wrote
No worries, you were right, your cab : sip.cab works great and i can confirm it is also okai for french rom. I think it should be also for german one.
Regards
Ok also for Italian rom. Need only to edit the .lnk file in the startup folder and rename "Program Files" to "Programmi".
Thanks phsnake,
Its ok for German also. BUT the path in "sipchange.lnk" must be changed from
"program files" to "programme".
Thanks again
Yoshi
don't edit registry. it will need hard reset.
use program sipchange 1.1 or phoneAlarm
SIP need to set every reboot that bill gate brain.

Word Completion
I've tried to use SIPchange, but I have this problem I can't solve. Word Completion is active even when it's not checked. After the reset I have the keyboard I want but it still does Word Completion (without the check in it).
I have:
RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_Ship
and
Radio ROM 1.64.08.21
All english.
What can I do?
Thanks.
I really need some help on this one. I tried using the Resco Keyboard application and I'm still having the same problem. Word Completion is not checked, but it is still active.
Thanks...
Try look into these:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP
"SuggAutoCorr" <- 1 if AutoCorrect or Replace text as you type, 0 if not
"SuggChars" <-Number of letters before suggesting a word/s
"SuggWords" <- Number of Word/s to be suggested, set 0 to disable Word Suggestion
"SuggSpace"-> 1 to add space after suggested word, 0 if not
Thanks natong,
I removed the checks on the options and checked those registry lines and they're set at "0", also tried to change the number of letter before word completion to 7 and 20, but after a couple characters it starts the word completion.
I also had some trouble with SMS sending. When I try do "Add Recipient", sometimes the PPC freezes on the contacts and I can't even select a contact to send the SMS.
Should I backup my stuff and reinstall the ROM? If so, can someone please point out an English ROM I can use without these bugs?
Thanks for the help.
So manytimes i told myself that i should find a solution to this stupid problem!!!
Thanks a lot for this great utilities!!!
btw: just to clarify its not util made by me. It was smone else from here(at least i guess) who provided this tool. You may try to search for sipchange.cab and say thx to programmer. I only recalled this prob from arte(btw i use only adaptxt SIP and default m$hit - so no need 4 this app)
ok. phonealarm might be heavy on the machine. and the SIP change works only when phonealarm is run during boot. SIP change works for some people but might not work for others because the delay time varies. i checked it on a few devices and it worked on some and didn't work on others. also varies according to how many programs are run during boot cause it changes the loading time. i don't know if there's a reg option to control program boot order but if SIPswitch or Phonealarm don't "work" for you, you should use "sipchange" and assign the change to a hardware button so that you can change the SIP whenever you like. you can use HButton to assign many sips to the same hardware button.

Hi, guys.
I accidentally found another easy way to do this, without any need to add one more software to autostart. I use a Polaris HTC with rom 0.67 by bep (WM6.1). It had the same problem: everytime I soft reset, it reset the keyboard too. I installed TOPKEY, a freeware from pdamil (www.pdamil.com) and, now, everytime I soft reset, the phone resets the keyboard, but not to the touch keyboard, but to the default WM keyboard. I can't explain this, but that' just what happened, and that's just what I needed...
Hope someone benefits with this too...
Guys looking trough the issues you've mentioned here I can say that I'm very happy with what I am using and maybe it would be useful for you too.
It's named FingertouchPRO, the layout is customizable and so is the keyboard height
I won't attach the CAB here as you can download it from www.fingertouchpro.com , just click the big CAB button.
There also is a movie showing this toy in action, the speed (if it's real) is incredible!

Touch Cruise touch-keyboard layout

Hi everybody,
I got my Touch Cruise and I think it's a great device. The "new" touch-keyboard is neat, but I would like to use a different layout like on this screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I think this layout is by default in the system, because it started it when I was asked to type my WLAN password. After I did it, this layout "disappeared" and I can't get it to show up again.
So where is the magical switch to use this layout?
Thanks in advance.
I wanted to use the SIP you mention above as well, but was unable to find a way to select it. I'm not sure why it's not an option in the HTC rom, but it is disappointing.
This is not a solution to your question, but maybe something useful anyway:
Have you looked into PocketCM Keyboard? it is a great option and I love it when used with the iPhone skin developed by 2manyphones.
If you decide to try this, you will need to install sipchange by sleuth225 which will allow you to keep PocketCM as your default SIP even after a soft reset.
Hope this helps - and if you figure out how to get the orginal HTC qwerty, let us know!
I have fallen for CooTek's TouchPal Pro. You can use it in predictive text mode or precise entry. It also has a boat load of useful features like input strings (ie. www.<site>.com), a resizeable input panel, and many others.
I have used Resco Keyboard Pro (V3) and PocketCM (with iPhone skin). TouchPal pro is by far the best and most polished solution (IMHO).
This layout appears when you enter passwords or URL's etc, but yes, don't think you can select it as a main SIP even with a sip changer.
I don't like it as a normal keyboard anywys, you have to press the stupid symbol button to get a period.
Hi,
I´m using the PocketCM Keyboard from here , which is close to perfect.
You really might want to take a look at that, especially with the available Touch-skin.
edit: btw the ContactManager itself is very good too.
oh, and hello to everyone..
Thanks for all the replies, I'll look around.
Cheers.
Touch Cruise Keyboard
Hi there, i tested the Touch Cruise aka Xda Orbit 2 today.
I love this keyboard from the Cruise and wanna get it for my HTC Touch.
Is there a .cab, i can get, please?
Thx a lot!
i absolutely hate the touch cruise's SIP with teh XT9 crap
that thing is the devil reincarnated i swear
i have never actually seen the one in the screen shot at the beginning of this post tho..weird
i'm gonna try touch pal, thanks for the suggestion...btw hi everyone im new here too i just bought a touch cruise last week..upgraded from an htc apache
It must be possible to use this layout as a standard. But I don't know how. But I think it should be possible by editing the registry.
Has anyone a clue how to do this?

I'm using PocketCM, which is ok. Think I will try some of the other ones to see if they're any better. Some ppl swear by them on here. It's just annoying when you have Opera 9.5 and the stock HTC keyboards don't work. So you try and select the pocketCM keyboard but just pulling up the input changer menu takes like 5 secs (see the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375260 post by another user). then when the menu finally shows up and I select pocketCM and it brings up the crappy default windows qwerty keyboard. i have no idea why it does that. sometimes i'll get lucky and it will actually show the pocketCM keyboard. and if I do get the pocketCM keyboard, then that one leaves a space between every character. it's all very annoying and confusing as you can see. either way I've never seen the keyboard in the first screenshot.

Where the f**k is TRANSCRIBER??

Hi guys!
When reading the User Manual on page 100 it says that you can use Transcriber and/or Letter Recognizer, Transcriber is a handwriting recognition soft that should be in the device, but not in mine!
(see below for romversion etc.)
Coming from Symbian smartphones this is the thing i miss the most, that u simply can do the handwriting in every app onboard.
Do YOU guys have this in your HTC TP?
Don't worry it is in it. If you open an message/note etc, on the bottom you will see a keybord icon, next to the icon, there is a little arrow pointing up. Tick the arrow with the stylus and select 'other input methods'. There you'll find the transcriber.

Yes m8, I understand the user manual, but it simply is not there!
I can't choose what simply does not exist!!
So, do you mean that you can choose between both Transcriber and Letter Recognizer??
You can choose between keyboard, transcriber and other.

They are there. Click the upwards arrow. You may need to select "Other Input Methods". Transcriber may not be there on all ROMs.
The WWE ROM should include transcriber. Diamond users are reporting that other regional ROMs don't include all SIPs. But you should be able to follow the instructions from the Diamond forum/threads to install it if it's missing.
Transcriber is built-in feature in all WM devices as well as Letter Recognizer. If you don't see it,there are maybe some registry entries,those disables it. Try to look for unhiding Transcriber in registry or try to use piece of software called Pocket Tweak.
OK Guys, thx for your input here trying to help me out!
I've got a Swedish ROM and it simply doesn't exist, what's the easiest/best reg editor to use if I want to search in depth to find this option?
Anyone else in here with a Swedish ROM that have the same lack of software?

I think the lack of Transcriber is common on non-WWE HTC Roms. My former device, an Qtek S200, was from a portuguese operator and it didn't had transcriber.
My WWE Touch Pro has transcriber...
I think this is the logic, WWE Roms have transcriber, non-WWE Roms don't have (only if the operator or local HTC customize it).
By the way, you can always download it and install it. Google it...
ptweak
Try to use this...
Install it,after that there will a 'Pocket Tweak' icon appear in Start>Settings>System. Tap it and go to 'Input Panel' card and look,if there is transcriber or not.
There is no transcriber in swedish roms, has not been in Qtek9100, Tytn or Tytn II. But you can downlaod a cab and install it.

HEY! Take it easy on the Starred out Curse words.
This thread would have been just as effective named "Where is Transcriber?" or better yet "Transcriber Location?"
you only ever get transcriber in the following languages:
English
Spanish
Italian
French
German
Brazilian Portuguese (But not proper Portuguese)
Seems microsoft don't bother activating it in any other language. Why it's not added by the OEM's is a nother matter.....
And as for the manual, it's only cos it's a standard manual that is translated from english and HTC don't bother to remove the bits that are not relevant..it's full of stuff like that!

Where can I find the Spanish Dictionay or the Spanish Transcriber?
I think after you go through all the trouble of finding and installing transcriber you will use it a few times and realize it sort of sucks and is slow. I gaurantee you can type faster with the keyboard or onscreen keyboards then you can with transcriber, but its sort of cool when it works, which is a challenge to make it work properly all the time. Dont even bother with Letter Recognizer, I wont even get into that.

Sense Keyboard (or other T9) on TG01

The TG01 is definitely a bittersweet pill. For its omissions, it has added features... for its extra functionality, stuff seems to be left out. Does one balance the other? In my opinion, unfortunately not... as the most useful things seem to be the things missing. In particular, a good T9 / Predictive Keyboard Input!
So - whilst I'm mostly happy with the standard WM 6.5 UI (with SPB of course) - when it comes to texts and emails, this handset is, as it stands, as good as useless, whereas on my old TouchHD, the 'Phone Keypad' allowed me to text and email with ease.
So what about the HTC Sense 'Phone Keypad' or other integrated T9 input system? Has anybody tried any 3rd Party Input devices? As the first paragraph said, something 'cool' in place of something 'usable' - I can't text or email with the device, but I *can* plug in a full size USB keyboard. Great!!
All opinions and options greatly appreciated. Let's make this TG01 something really good to use!!
Well I did not try a 3rd Party Keyboard but I like the TouchPal Keyboard very much. You can choose in the settings the T9 input and it works very well for me.
TouchPal... right - I'll have to find that one and give it a workout.
Any others to mention? URLs / Screenshots would be useful too... this could be the definitive 'TG01 Keyboard Replacement' thread! Ha.
Having tried TouchPal, I, too am an advocate to it now, and am already considering PURCHASING it!! So it must be good, because I never part with cash for software!
Yes, in my opionen it's far the best virtual keyboard for Windows Mobile
So, go and purchase it. It's worth the money.

does it work on your HD2?
because it's says that is for (Q)VGA.
I actually have a Touch Diamond2 (TD2), sadly not an HD2, so it comes preinstalled. It has a VGA version that should work or WVGA. And here is a newer version that says it supports wvga :

Great Keyboard!
Thanks a lot! I managed writing in Greek with the finger keyboard.
I have found a cab of the new style HTC keyboard if it's of any use guys? I'll try and find a screenshot of it somewhere.
Found! -
How to install... straight onto mem card, install, reboot (if you want to but not needed) and bang on.
Shows up on list as... TOUCH INPUT. Works great on mine

That's what i'm after if anyone has it / can get hold of it? Pref in the same new design as in the screenshot i just added here but if it's the old style, that'll do to!
Thanks, TSS

Hey, thanks for that cab! It's awesome! Been looking for something like that for along time. Only problem is how to keep it as a default keyboard when you reboot your phone? It keeps defaulting back to Standard Windows Mobile small one...
Any ideas? Perhaps a Cab fix?
