Question to Vox Rom makers, a small request.. - HTC Vox

I was wondering if there is a oem package for the sliding sounds. As the t-mobile shadow has registry keys for sliding sound and also sliding sound waves but has no setting options for it nor any files or possible dlls for it.
So I was wondering if a rom creator could possibley get me the files and reg entrys if its easy enough. so i can try and get the shadow to make a noise when i slide the keyboard open.
Thank you for your help.

0_in.wav and 0_out.wav is the file name.
Just replace it

yes been there done that. but the shadow is missing all settings for sliding sounds.
also i think it is missing reg entries in hkcu or other parts.

First of all, here is a reg entry I found, don't know if it's all and it looks like it's calling a script, but I haven't looked for that yet.
It's a self-extracting archive with a *.reg file!

hope this is what u look for
here are 3 reg keys exported from my vox i hope this would help u.

Oh, I did't attache it

are there any setting xml files in the windows directory by any chance ?

[Solved] need to get an alternative tapres.dll to work in WM6

Hi, I need some help here:
I have tried extracting tapres.dll from several WM6 releases.
However, they never seem to be correctly rebuild after dumping the ROMs.
Does anyone know a way to get hold of a Working tapres.dll (from WM6 !!!) ?
I have tried dumping rom's with itsme tools (viewimgfsf, rebuild module etc..), but the resources from the file are VERY strange..
I need this file because I am writing a new program to build dailerskins, But I want to resize the dailerbuttons.
Solved:
Raceit pointed me to the resource file:
tapres.dll.0409.mui
This one needs to be edited!!
Am working on it.
Thanks Raceit !!!
The problem now is in how to make WM6 to use the new tapres2.dll (and MUI file)
edit
Had to write a new dll, but succeeded:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297530
I got this with viewimgfs.exe as well so I'm not sure it will be of any help to you. This is from the Orwells ROM.
Thanks, too bad I got the same results:
There are no dialogs to be edited..
So it's not (yet) possible to have a big button dailer.
I understand this is about the dialer, but for some reason my WM6 dialer wokrs fine, i can change the background and button graphics, however when i am prompted to enter my SIM pin code the number pad has the nasty white background and pink buttons etc... (as if there is no skin).
What .dll controls the dialpad and sim pin pad?! Could i be missing some graphics files?!?

Been a while since I messed with sim-pin pad..
Out of memory I believe that:
The background is created by cmdpad_land.gif cmdpad_port.gif (and square, but this is not used on wizard).
And the buttons are the NmBtnDn_Land.bmp and other nmbtb**etc** bmps.
[ for convenience I attached those ]
thanks sir, i added the graphics to the \windows folder but still no joy (im running on the hermes btw). could my .dll that refers to it have been corrupted?!

It sounds like an image problem. I'd uninstall any dialer skin you have running to get the default stuff back if you can. If that doesn't work try this. It's the same as the-equinoxe posted, but there are a few more files. (No offense the-equinoxe) Just trying to help. This should get all the dialer buttons and images back to normal.
LOL! i REALLY appreciate the help people but still no luck! :s could i have corrupted a .dll or registry value when the ROM was cooked?

I only posted the pin-pad images (out of memory, didn't find my notes), and left the dailerpad images out.

Could be, what changes have you performed while cooking the ROM?
Did you edit the grafics for the dailerpad while cooking of afterwards?

I've got same problem. I think that's a sort of TMobile skin and not a file missing problem.
All began after i installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34670&d=1172649654

The file you refer to is the smart dialer, and installing it without a skin gives the same result as my sim-pin pad has. but LOL yer it does look like a T-mobile skin. Just install a skin and it will work ok.

Well the first ROM worked fine, the black WM6 dialer and pin-pad looked the same, by copying the files from this post into the windows folder the colours and graphics for both the dialer and pin-pad were changed?!? (as desired)
But after the ROM change the pin-pad is white with no buttons. adding the files again to windows only changes the dialer. :s
AFAIK nothing has been done to the dialer skin, however it may have been changed by accident!? Which is why Im wondering which .dlls and reg values effect these?!
SOLVED

Could you explain how to fix that skinning problem?

I am testing/working on it @ this moment..
All looks promissing but please be patient, don't want to rush out a release.
Only difference with the eten/paulyA skins is you edit another file, some regkeys are differrent, and the smartdail is build into the same resource.
Will build a test-skin (based on the Eten-grey Light I build for WM5), and do some test.
I will also build my findings in the WM6 dailerskin-builder program I am working on.
This one is still in the early development fase, and not all screens have been skinned.
Status:
-editing NEW resource Had to write my own dll, Done
-Dailer portrait Done
-Dailer landscape Done
-Call in progress portrait In progress
-Call in progress landscape In progress
-Button templates In progress
This program will be WM6 WWE QVGA only, but I will probably add some other languages once those are released.
Attached:
-a screenshot from the skinbuilder (although I am thinking to change the layout, because the troubles I have with switching to landscape and control-placement)..
Clicking on the screen will let you select the background picture
You can choose the buttonset (here used "test" ) with the dropdown menu.
You can change the transparancy of the buttonset with the slider.
And build a cab by clicking a button..
Sorry i didn't wanna bother you. I'll wait. Absolutely no probs...
Still having troubles applying the new tapres.dll
Replacing the XIP based tapres.dll crashes the dailer..
Then I tried to use the tapres.dll (plus MUI) as skin
So I renamed the dll and Mui to tapres2
and edited the registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"IcoFil"="tapres2.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"ext"="tapres2.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
"RESDLL"="tapres2.dll"
To no avail, still the old tapres.dll takes over
What am I missing??
EDIT:
OK I had to build a new dll.
Started from scratch, but now I have Big Buttons and Smartdailing Working
New thread is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297530
Classic Reading.
I think MrVanx would also like to see this one back someday.
I even remember myself finding out that there needed to be a phcanXXXETC.dll and a specific registry key to get a skinned unluck screen.
I'm closing the thread, but will never remove this.

Simple bluetooth on / off app

Hi, found this somewhere and I now install it direct in my Windows / Start menu/programs folder. You get an icon which if pressed just switches BT on or off. I put it on my start menu and it makes life really simple.
I dont know how to make it into a cab so here is the exe. As i cant upload an exe i renamed it .txt, so rename it .exe and it should work.
if someone can turn it into a cab that would be nice too!
Works a treat on my Kaiser.
Here is a CAB to install the Exe to \Program Files\EkerB\BT Toggle and the Shortcut to \Windows\Start Menu
EDIT: I did it using WinCE Cab manager. Very simple to use.
Thanks
Dave

simple bluetooth "on/off" or does it have "on+visibile /off"
because biggest PIA is turning visibility on after you already turned BT on
I don't know, have to wait for the OP to get back. I just made a CAB and tested by looking at the Blue LED light on my phone.

sorry i quoted wrong post...by the way have you ran into some registry values or parts of the app that control the registry
because things like icons and shortcuts for bt,wireless,irda and some other stuff are simple registry "modifyiers"
somewhere a value changes from 0 to 1 and your BT gets on/off
Anybody know if there is a similar program for data connetions?

Help with Removing dead Icons in my new ROM

Hey everyone. I decided to cook myself a new ROM. I removed a bunch of programs but I now have two dead shortcuts. One is the Sliding Sounds app in Settings\Personal and the other is TouchFlo in Settings\System. I tried to locate them on the device and attempt to delete them with Total Commander but can't seem to find them. Any ideas on how to get those blank icons out of there? Are they registry entries? Thanks in advance.
For TouchFlo, remove this key (in rgu | OEMApps):
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCCPL\Applet25]
"CmdLine"=""
"Name"="TouchFLO Settings"
"Path"="TFSettings.exe"
"Title"="TouchFLO"
For Sliding sounds, just remove all key/string that has 'sliding'
(in OEMDrivers & OEM_Lang_**** rgu) & all corresponded files.

If i remember correctly, sliding sounds is in one of the provxml files...maybe 105 in the operator pkg file in oem. if not try the the other provxmls.
You guys are awesome, thanks for the help.

Actually I just deleted the key for TouchFlo as you stated and even after a reset it is still showing up as a blank shortcut icon in Settings...Any other ideas?
EDIT: I went into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\MyCpl\ and removed the coresponding numbered file....is this ok? It removed those blank shortcuts.

try looking in OEMApps for TFLOsettings.lnk or something similar and delete it
In case anyone was wondering, my problem was that I didn't edit the initflashfiles.dat and the mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml files correctly before cooking my ROM. All good now. Thanks again guys.

Hkey_local_machine

hello folks!i want to ask a noob quastion!where can i find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?because i want to change the 9 quicklinks to 16 and i dont want to put o .cab file to make job..i have total commander but i cant find it.thanks!i have hd2
you will need a registry editor like PHM regedit. I would however recommend using a cab file to do this for you. You have said that you are a noob and if you do something wrong you can end up having to hard reset your phone and it's just alot easier with a cab.
im noob for regisrty stuff but its ok!im using the cab from Co0kieMonster right now and everything is ok!thanks by the way
With TotalCommander go to root directory.
Choose //Plugins
Then choose registry
HKLM is what you're looking for.
Make changes with care.
i think you make a mistake!(but trully thanks for your answer)
i think the correct is :
root\regidtry\HKLU\software\HTC\longpressendkey\isquickshow
and you change the "0" to "1"
am i correct?

No problems, that cab is awesome BTW. Have been using it for a while
i think that with this cab my hd2 is slow....i dont know why!thats why i want to change quicklinks from registy
no answer?
changing it from the registry wont make it any better. You can try another 20 or 16 shortcuts as they may work better. The Cookie monster one comes with a few extras which may account for the slowness.
If you extract the setup.xml from the cab (using winrar or similar) on your PC you can see the changes that it makes. Also as far as i am aware the shortcuts is not just a registry change but also an edit of 1 or more the the core sense files.

[Q] Default htc sliding sound piano.wav?

im looking for the default piano keyboard sliding sound.wav for kaiser i really cant find this, anybody has the wav files?, thank you so much in advance
On a Kaiser device they appear in the \Windows directory as 1_in.wav and 1_out.wav
You will probably have to switch File Explorer to Show all Files to see them.
This stuff is translated via the registry under the key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SlidingSound]
