I was wondering. When the charging is over, the ready led (usually green) turns on. If you leave the device connected to the outlet, what happens? Does the device consumes power only from the outlet? Does it use the battery as if it isn't connected to the outlet at all?
It wont run out of battery power thats the main thing.
I assume it takes it from the battery which then gets instantly charged. I say this because my power adapter has a little LED which shows green when phone is charged but itll flash to orange (charging) very quickly then back to green every now and again.

Does anyone have experience charging the battery?
I was using the phone it went dry, as in
I did get the warning that i only have 10% left / 5 % left and then i kept using it until it pop up a message saying
"To prevent damage to the phone, it will now turn off"
and off it goes
but when i plug it back to the USB cable, it got no sign of charging, no light, or indication of any kind.
if i try to turn on the phone, only the Soft buttons lid up, but it doesn't do anything.
Also when i had it plugged directly into the wall, it was not shown as charging, when the phone is ON and running the OS.
but now that the phone is completely OFF, when i plug in the USB charger directly to the wall then it shows the Battery Bar @ 5% for only a brief moment and then goes back off

Yes, it always happens if you squeeze all the juice out of the battery. Be patient and let the cable connect. After a few mins, the touch buttons will light up. then after a few more minutes, the screen will light-up and show you the charging icon. By that time it reached 15%, you can already press the power button to boot the phone.

The same exact thing seems to be happeneing to me. Did you figure out how to turn it on? I charged it overnight and nothing has changed except that the battery status shows a full charge. I still can't turn it on. After I take it off the charger and replug it in, it shows 5% again. Thanks.
the problem with mine was just a cable issue, found another cable, and it worked fine.
it didn't like the after market chargers
Most of the time this is not cable problem... If your battery is down and you put in PC USB - it will light after... you will wait a lot. If you put it in AC charger it will light after while.
PC USB is 500mA, AC charger is 600mA or more.
thanks for all the advice. I did get it to charge and boot. I left the battery out of the phone overnight then plugged in the original charger and the soft keys lit up and aftr 25 minutes I was able to turn it on all the way. Quite a relief.
I was on the phone and it died. I immediately plugged in, turned on and attempted to make call (it was really urgent:crying, it again died. Now that I have it plugged in, and have done for about 25 minutes, the orange LED is flashing, and the screen shows up with the battery image with the electric bolt inside it to show that it's charging. But I'm fairly sure that iimage of the battery should start filling up with green colour to indicate the battery level, not sure though. It's not turning on and I can't get it to fast boot either. I tried all combinations of volume buttons and power button with charge without charge, with bright light, without bright light and so on and so forth and still I can't figure this out.

Tried different charger and usb cable... Looks like your charger not enough to supply power required.

Yeah, tried a couple of charges and cables too.. Different power outlets too.. Still nothing happened..
when i charge the phone turned off, the orange led will not blink. it's simply light. i have a sprint version and the battery indicator in this condition is animated showing the percentage of charge. with a growing green animation. The electric bolt will shown only when i plug in the cable, but disappear after a second start charging. May the battery be damaged or under powered. If you can, try with a more powerful quick charger or bring it back to vendor.

With an Xperia SP phone, i have something very strange, the battery is empty, i plug the charger, see charge animation with low level, one minute later or less i see 100%, i power on the phone, still 100%, unplug the charger, the phone immediately power off, i plug again the charger, again, empty to 100% in one minute or less.

few days ago, my phone stopped charging, then i switch off charging logo starts blinking but no battery percentage was showing. but i kept the phone plugged in, maybe after 30 mins it started showing percentage, i turned on my phone and plug the charger again to check if it is fine, then i showed the charging icon and started charging slowly. but i discover that when i unplug charger , charging icon was still there. i keep using my phone for 2-3 days, shown no problem but the charging icon always on even without charger, i tried other charger and also check usb cable by connecting to a computer. after 2-3 days suddenly everything is fine. no issues for next 2-3 days, then the charging icon and slow charging came back as i fall sleep at night keeping my charger on. but this time when i plug charger, no charge icon, i switch of, usb charge logo start blinking after every 10-12 seconds without battery percentages, i kept the charger on, when i turn on phone, it was charged, battery was fine, but still when i plug charger no sign , but when i switch off it starts blinking , it,s been going on for days. and i,m concerned. Try a battery replacement.
Been having some issue with my Xperia 5 II with wall outlets. Phone does not charge with wall outlet and portable battery. Tried different wires but does not charge. I did notice that when I plug the phone to the wall outlet the phone detects it cause I feel it vibrate but just doesn't charge. However it does charge with the same wires to a computer.
Anyone having this issue or have any solutions?
My phone was dead one morning and when I plugged it in I got a vibration but the LED light that indicates charging did not light. I tried everything and as last resort I went to the manual. It said that if you drain the battery when you start charging it gives no visible clue, none, until it hits around 15%. That was true. I plugged it in and read a book and eventually the red LED came on and the phone charged and all has been well.

before this happen when i charge my phone either below or above 15% it shows the charging icon on the battery and the red LED. And like I mention plug in to charge on the computer under 15% i see the LED on and charge icon on the battery. Nonetheless i will try your method and try plugging it in under 15% to see if it charges.
Tried charging the phone at 0% and also inbetween 0% and 15% still not charging. The only way for it charge now is on a fast charger sony usb c cable.
