Trading Phones? - General Topics

Hi Guys,
Quick Question, I have a Nokia N80 (yes, blasphemy around here - I Know). I don't want to sell it but instead I would like to trade it for a windows mobile 6 or 6.1 device.
I found a few sites that are for cell phone trading, but they seem to be more for profit of trading in old phones to buy new ones, not straight up trades.
Anyone here know of a good cell trading site, or, interested in trading a win mobile device for a N80 with a bunch of extras? It's all legit, I bought it myself in Brazil and paid for some apps for it etc. No stolen crap
Thanks,
Matt

www.swapz.co.uk
That's the only reputable one I know of

Thanks Leoni,
This site looks rad, but, because I'm in canada, shipping and mhz/voltages may be an issue.
I'll keep an eye out here though, look to be some great deals.
Thanks,
Matt

Have a look at www.esato.com they have a good marketplace going, and the a lot of the users are from different countries and quite a few international trades take place.
Steve

Dawso,
Thanks, this place looks great. Its too bad I have to wait 30 days before posting to the marketplace though
Thanks for the link either way, I'd never seen this place before and looks quite active.

Cheapest Price?

What is the cheapest price people have found the touch pro?
theres no cheapest price, theres only cheaper price, which you will need to go hunt down on your own if other found it, im sure you could too
Simply stunning. That is the most useless response and unnecessary response ever.
In the world of buying non-U.S. based phones over the internet there are plenty of trustworthy websites and plenty of non-trustworthy web sites. To ask the question of where the cheapest price that has been found is, in no way, out of order for this forum.
If you have nothing to add to a thread, save us the trouble of having to read your inane responses. Upping your post count is not worth bugging the rest of us.
On a side note, I haven't been able to find the U.S. version yet. It is supposed to be released but I cannot find it. Does anybody here live in America and have you found a US version?
supposedly the fuze from att is released, probably need to wait for a bit before any mass stock on ebay or att itself
Thank you theclueless. I will search for fuze for further information.

well, actually...your question was a little vague.
There are too many variables to consider which is why it was proposed that you go have a hunt yourself.
you didn't say if you wanted a contract or SIM free for starters...that could give you a £3-400 price difference...
new or used could also save yourself some cash.

XDA Flint for sale

Hi guys. I'm selling my Flint...here it is:
link
Yeah, it's a bit cheeky, but when it's gone, it's gone...so hurry
If I saw this 3 weeks ago I would have gone for it surely
knowing HTC Athena 2 due out soon, I now prefers to wait till Athena 2 released.
best of luck! I did best offer you on that auction, but was declined.
Yeah too right it was declined. People offering me silly money. Think I'm stupid??? If people don't want to pay what these things are worth, they should either forget it and get a device that suits their budget, or wait a couple of years until it drops to the price you want to pay (judging by the offers, it'll be about 10 years!! ), instead of wasting my time and looking a little bit foolish...
Anyway it's still for sale if anybody's interested. Link updated and slightly reduced price.
Things to take into account:
Is it Simlocked to O2? I bought mine new and sim-free last year for £624 so if locked might be considered expensive for a second-hand item when you consider if anything goes wrong with it, they'd have to go through you go get it repaired.
Can you still actually leave buyers negative feedback? I thought that had been stopped by ebay.

O2 do not, and never have SIM locked their Windows Mobile devices. The Flint is pretty much the standard HTC offering, though the current ROM does not have the HTC Home front end.
O2 also tend to do warranty repairs based on the IMEI, so do not necessarily need the original owner to mediate things, as long as you are using an O2 SIM.
It seems amazing that prices seem to vary from around £320 to well over £500 on Ebay.
Thanks for clearing that up, if I were in the market it'd justify the cost for me.
Maybe if matmaneyre could point these things out in the item description it'd clear things up to the public in general and bring about a quicker sale
I still don't think it's possible to leave negative feedback to a buyer though, especially one with whom no transaction has actually occurred.
Yes- you're right. Ebay changed the rules at the end of last year, for better or worse, though as you say, it was never possible to leave FB for someone who didn't actually buy.
With Ebay, the content of the advert say's an awful lot about the product and the seller
I thought about buying that from you off of eBay.
Something doesn’t quite feel right about that auction.
You say it’s an upgrade, yet it’s not available as an upgrade!? Also you say it’s too complicated for you but it’s no more complicated than any other Windows mobile device.
Maybe I’m paranoid but...
To be honest, by 'too complicated for me' I really meant not quite right for me, as it has too many features I am not going to use, and I think I would be better off cashing in and getting something more suitable to my needs. Hope that clears it up a bit. I'd have put that in the description, but it seems to take so long to create a good listing just the way you want it, minor things that the everyday person browsing for such a device just get overlooked when you preview your listing before submitting it. Once you get to a stage where you think it sounds and looks good enough, you kinda just go with it.
As you say, it's no more complicated than any other WM device. It is available as an upgrade through O2, but strictly only to business customers. They are extremely hard to get hold of otherwise. I hounded them literally everyday for a month because I returned my faulty Serra (see my signature) and they couldn't offer me an equal or better replacement. All their Serras were out of stock - really messed me about for 4 weeks. In the end they backed down as there was nothing else they could offer me.
They don't know their ear from their elbow.
And I didn't realise you couldn't leave negative feedback to a buyer as luckily I've never been in a situation where I'd want to, although that's really only on there to make people think seriously before submitting an offer. I don't want to be relisting all the time for the sake of someone not reading the buyer restrictions or trying to scam me.
Hope that explains a few things...if you're still wary,. check my feedback. I've sold all my WM devices of the last 5 years on ebay (see sig again!) And see my postcount and view my posts too. I am a real, genuine human!!
Thanks everyone for the helpful info (didn't realise there was no simlock either!)
In general section is a thread called Buy & Sell
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=434069
Let´s use it for that porpose

I didn't realise there was a buy and sell section. Thanks for that. If a mod would like to move me, feel free.
Anyway, relisted (again), updated link (again) and reduced (again)!
SOLD now, thanks.

[Q] Any Reason NOT to Buy From Wirefly

Looking at getting a couple new phones, a Note 2 and a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. Wirefly seems to have the best deals on the phone, but I wanted to check with people here to see if there is anything hidden, or pitfalls I should look out for.

My dad has ordered from Wirefly numerous times and has yet to have a complaint. I have never ordered from there but I don't see why not. Cheers!
Honestly none at all, I am one of their many satisfied customers, items ship quickly, prices are reasonable and they often have killer deals in addition to all the newest devices... It doesn't get any better... (well other than Amazon that is)
thanks for the info.

Looking for Reliable online Shop

Hey people Merry christmas and happy new year in advance.
I am looking for an online shop that sells android phones like goophone i5 or HDC I9300 and other awesome copies. I am from mauritius and well stuff are rather expensive here and by expensive i mean Real Iphone 5 is lets say approx USD 1100-1300. And well i really dont want to use that much money on a phone.
I've seen some sites like fastcardtech, chinaecarts and others, too many reviews with many different opinions and bad experiences like wrong product etc and also scam. Figured i could ask help from you guys.
Any links to some shops with good service, aftersales, response, handling, shipping, honesty. Well lets say great shops all in all. Please post them with any reviews and personal experiences that might help me out.
Or if you know high quality android smartphones for under $300 that play in the category of the likes of "LG Nexus 4, Galaxy S3" Lemme know.
Thanks,
Arshad

ok so i have settled for this phone. But i am still unsure. After much research there are too many conflicting answers and reviews.
1 moment scam, 1 moment good, 1 moment something else. I've even looked here and its the same. I don't know if its unsatisfied customers or people who never had any experience with them.
Could some people with experience with buying from android-sale.com light my path plz.
Thanks.
Hi folks. Did anyone know GlaDeal Store? It's trustworthy?
Update (13 March 2017)
After buying a Redmi 3s international got no reply for few days, then, after my second e-mail, they reply that: The phone wasn't available (but still available inside the online shop) then offer me to send me another phone, or refund. I choose refund cause Xiaomi (unless it is marked as international or global) it's not working in most of Europe country's due to the lack of Band B20 (800 mhz). They say the give refund the day after... I wait 2 days and nothing happens, so i call PayPal and pass the pratice to they. Curiously after vistit my shop account-board I saw that the refund was started, but with 8 euro less to the total amount that i pay for the phone.
I'm still waiting for PayPal for a reply. Anyway, they grant me for a total refund of the price that I paid.
Plus:
The online shop has security issues about SSL and DNS traffic. And this is not good at all for a shop that pretend to sell stuff online.
Greetings
