Opening Games Folder and Opera Mini?? - HTC Vox

Hey guys, I have a question for you. I just added CLinks to my CHome-screen. There I want to add a shortcut for the games folder in the startmenu, how should I do that?? I am trying :MSStart \Windows\StartMenu\Games right now. What is the the shortcut for the start menu and folders within it?
And for Opera Mini I tried "\Program Files\Jbed 3D Mod\jbed.exe" -run s8_ but that doesn't work either. Any ideas?? Is it because of the 3D Mod??

Here's the url I have for games folder: fexplore.exe; \windows\start menu\games
For operamini, you can set it as default browser then call it like this: : DEFBROWSER;
to add a specific link: : DEFBROWSER; xda-developers.com
To set it as default look for the thread in xda general forum(not smartphone general), it should be on 1st or 2nd page of forum. Hope that helps

Thanks, I have done it differently. I made a shortcut to Opera Mini in Start Menu, but it was -run s21_
And I am opening the gamesfolder via Resco Explorer now. Thanks anyway!

Java Start Menu Shortcut

Is there any way i can add a shortcut to a java app onto the start menu?
For Example i have installed opera mini and want a shortcut to it directly instead of launching the java program and then opera 2. Thanks in advance
Don't have the answer, but just to add I too would love to have a direct link to Opera Mini from the HTC Home Menu, or Start Menu.
Someone will be along soon with an answer!
Anyone? Theres got to be a way
so no-one knows how to do this?
The parameter to start Opera Mini directly is (if it is your first Java app): -run s0_.
To create a .lnk (to use in HTC Home or a launcher) do the following:
1. Open a text-editor and put in this text: 28#"\windows\jbed.exe" -run s0_
2. Rename the text-file to "OperaMini".lnk (or Internet.lnk or what you like, but it must be an .lnk file)
3. Save the file on your device in the programm folder
4. Choose this link in the application, you want to start Opera Mini from (for example HTC Home).
To start Opera directly from the cube, do the following:
Open a registry editor and go to: HKLM-Software-HTC-Biotouch-APLaucher-App4 (or which button you want)
Change the following keys to:
"Param": -run s0_
"Path": \Windows\Jbed.exe
"Name": What you like, for example "Opera" or "Internet", ...
Works fine on my Orbit 2.
Best regards
Lars
briliant, will try it in the morning. thanks
Works Great, Thanks a lot
Magic, thanks Starwalker!
OEM button settings?
crap I changed the wrong button. Does anyone have the OEM settings for the Comm manager? or maybe you can list all of them? I would just need the ones I changes the
"Param": -run s0_
"Path": \Windows\Jbed.exe
"Name": What you like, for example "Opera" or "Internet", ...
thanks....I didn't check the button befor it was too late.
thanks again

QQ: customize FUZE keyboard FN shortcuts?

so has a way been found to change the programs launched by things such as the music button or IM or CV?
would be nice to have added availability as landscape TF3D suckzorz
This functionality is enabled by the keypad.dll in my ROM, also I replied to a post on this forum with the relevant shortcuts you need to modify in the stock Fuze driver.
im not using a stock fuze im on provens rom so what must i do with that keypad.dll?
Well, you'd need to know if it's been modified or not. If not you use the shortcuts I posted in this forum a few days ago.. search for all posts with "AT&T Music", that should bring it up..
thanks alot
and for others here is Da Gs post that showed me what to do

Had to bust out the good ol' hex editor to refresh myself on this since it's been a while since I modded the keypad.dll, but here are the stock shortcuts it looks for:
\Windows\Start Menu\Calendar.lnk
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Instant Messaging.lnk
\Windows\AppButtons\Contacts.lnk
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MEdia Net Home.lnk
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Cellular Video.lnk
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\AT&T Music <--- note this one will open up the folder, not execute a .lnk
\Windows\Short_PTT.lnk \Windows\Long_PTT.lnk
\Windows\Short_Powerlnk \Windows\Long_Power.lnk
\Windows\Short_Explore.lnk
\Windows\Short_OperaL.lnk
\Windows\Short_Messaging.lnk
\Windows\Short_SMS.lnk
There's also \Windows\Long_Send.lnk, but that's reconfigurable through the button settings app, so probably don't need that one.
Hope this helps! The keypad.dll in my ROM remaps all the .lnk's that aren't in \Windows to be in \Windows, to avoid the need to stick stuff in the start menu where you might not want it.

Your question should really be in the Topaz general section. If it was you would have seen a link to this ......

Thanks for your reply, that software is very useful, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for... I need to divide shortcuts in menu you can see in screenshot...

Since this is the start menu of TouchFLO you can not devide it into folders.
You need to use the default windows mobile programs for that.
You can easily move files into folders using a file explorer:
Directory: /Windows/Startmenu
I know it is a simple registry key to disable the touchflo start menu, but I don't know which, but you should be able to find it using the search button.
One solution is to totally disable TouchFLO, but I guess you would like to keep that.

You can use utnicki.h's cab for this:

Shortcut to Start Menu Folders from Manila Program Launcher - Solution, CAB

(Originally posted on Rhodium Forum but should work with most devices running Manila hence re post here).
Hi all
To help organise my applications I've always wanted to be able to shortcut to start menu folders from within the manila program launcher but standard functionality did not allow for this.
I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416092
and I've developed the ideas a little and come up with a cab which will allow you to link to your Connectivity, Games, Multimedia, System Tools and Utilities folders within the Start Menu from the manila program launcher.
First go to Windows/Start Menu/Programs to see if you have the above folders, if you haven't you can create them. You don't have to have them all but the shortcuts will only work to the ones you have.
Then install the attached cab. This will provide you with a set of shortcut files that can be selected from program launcher as normal. (Thanks to Andrew-in-Woking and this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1782122 for the icons which I used).
I've tested on my Kaiser and Rhodium both on WM6.5 and seems to work fine. Let me know of any issues.

How to change "BING" icon? CSMI & JWMD don't work!

Any idea?
for some programms...they don't work in combination with sense.
they appear changed in winmo but once you add a quicklink there is the old annoying icon.
anyway overall Bing SUCKS and always slows down my HD2.
I could change the Icon with HComber.
Thanks, but hcomber didn't work, too.
Any idea where the icon is located?
Same problem for the Voice Recorder.
Try this :
1) Make a duplicate of the shortcut (e.g : "Garmin Mobile XT.lnk" when duplicated, Copy of
"Garmin Mobile XT.lnk")
2) Rename "Garmin Mobile XT.lnk" to "Garmin XT.lnk"
3) Use CSMI or JWMD to change the icon of the new shortcut created...
4) Now, add the newly created shortcut and see whether the icon has changed in the
Sense shortcut in the home tab menu! ( I did this and it worked...for a couple of my
shortcuts that changed in WM but didn't in Sense)
5) If it works, now delete the old shortcut and you're good to go...
***Hope this helped...
@Carina
Thanks, but how to find the shortcuts? Where are they? For example, where can i find the bing shortcut?
Try looking for the .lnk in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs...
It worked! Many thanks!

Can you expand on this please?
I have used the other method on this thread (ie, creating shortcuts); but this way my start menu gets cluttered with all the shortcuts due to me not wanting to delete the original "system files" - I get a warning (eg/ Word mobile, MSN Messenger).
What is the best way to get around this problem?
You just have to do the following:

What if CSMI can't apply an icon?
Delete all files located in \Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher
Change that icon with CSMI
Remove the application icon from the homescreen
Just add back it back in Sense homescreen.. that's it!
That, however, applies only to HTC Sense: if you want Windows Mobile Start Menu icon to be updated (this applies to v1.2+ too), just soft-reset your phone!
Update!!
I've found a bug/feature in manila which prevents some icons to be changed.
Since many users were complaining about not being able to change some icons I've started investigating the problem and found that if you try to use a custom icon which have the same filename of one of the images found in \Windows then Manila will always load that instead of your customized one.
In order to easily fix the problem, just rename your icon
This bug affects ONLY manila, therefore in the start menu everything will look fine BUT in the Homescreen you will always have the original icon!

i have changed the being icon on xanny and miri rooms using reStart and had no problems with this or getting it on sense quick links.

Ok... I've got to the bottom of this now.
After changing the icons seemingly ok last night by renaming them, I turned the phone on again this morning and some of them had reset... nightmare!
To solve the problem, I used a combination of renaming the icons and deleting the relevant .bmg files in \Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher (ie, following the guide you quoted).
For anyone reading this in the future, I will make two notes:
1. If you can't find the relevant .bmg file in the ProgLauncher folder; you simply have to rename your icon and then change it with CSMI - it will then appear in the folder and should change the icon with no problems (you won't have to delete anything!).
2. If a .bmg file does exist in the ProgLauncher folder, just delete it and change the icon with CSMI. If after a reset the icon goes back to the original, just change the icon name.
Doing this I came across a problem with the 'Bing' logo. The program icon doesn't populate in my CSMI list - even without filtering. As I write this I have not yet searched about this particular problem (it seems that this thread was started for this issue though!); but if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
