help on battery - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

i have problem charging my imate k-jam... i dismantled it to change the back and front cover because it is full of scratches already. when i removed the back cover, something happened to the battery pin and it got loose. so i went to the mobile shop and consulted a repairman so that he can repair it. they were able to repair it but everytime i plug the charger, it does'nt charge. and when i reset the fone, it says the power is coming from the charger. so when i charge the battery, i use a desktop charger. also, when i turn off the unit, it goes back on. does anyone have an idea on what just hapened on my phone? any help is much appreciated.

[Q] charging problem

so strangely the other day i found it hard to charge my phone after my phone fell well it was charing
anyway i had to push the charger way in for it to charge n it worked
today i was playing a game and decided to charge my phone...i got no response from the phone...so i decided to try a blackberry charger still no results...so i took out the battery n put it back in and it went straight to download mode... i blew inside the charging port and used a paint brush to try to get out any dust or anything like that
it was still happening so i took out the battery n plugged in the phone n it just kept vibrating so i put back in the battery and then it booted up fine but its still not charging and the battery meter increased when it turned on....
can i get some help on a solutiuon ?
Probably damaged the usb connector when you dropped the phone while charging. It could be anything and you'll probably have to replace the connector in the phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727
well after it fell it was charging with the same usb connector...only thing i dont get that hard tug again when im trying to pull out the charger, only when i use the blackberry charger i get that..
and right now its charging fine with it so idk what was the problem

[Q] wont boot

Hi. So I plugged my note 10.1 into my USB on my desktop today and waited for it to connect only instead the screen went black and now I can not turn it on with holding power button' taking out spent, can't boot into download mode or recovery. Any ideas guys or just a coincidence in timing? Any thing else that can be done or tryed to get it to respond? Or just a toasted note you think? Thanks for any advice in advance
OK so I took the note 10.1 apart and reset by unplugging the battery. That worked but after trying to charge the tab it wouldn't charge or start up again so I had to take the battery loose again. Now I have had an issue where Google play will not connect, did a factory reset fixed that but 30 minutes later it wouldn't connect again. Another factory reset and now its running smooth but absolutely will not charge at all on 3 different factory OEM chargers. I'm leaving it plugged in overnight. If that doesn't work I Intend to flash a custom ROM and see if that helps. If still a no go I will order a charger ribbon from eBay and try that. Could also be a system board but if its that I'll just buy another tablet. unless someone has some further advice
Try blowing some pressurised air into the usb connector, might be a piece of dust or something shoting it out...
If not that I would still be looking at the connector as the culprit as it happened when you plugged in and doesn't want to charge....
Ok so after having tried everything under the sun including replacing the charging ribbon cable I broke down and waited for a 10.1 with a broken screen to become available on eBay. Let me tell you folks that was a long wait at anywhere near a reasonable price. Traded the system boards out and am back in action. So I haven't come up with any reason why the system board charging went cablooey as all the resistors and diodes I tested were fine but there you have it. If replacing your charger or charging ribbon cable doesn't bring your charging back this is what you have to look forward to. The replacement system board that I used cost me $116.00 USD. I hope this doesn't become a common issue for any other users as their units age.

Phone not charging. Need my data.

Hi, All,
I was charging my phone in my car using the original charger cable but the car charger was not OEM. At some point, the phone stopped charging and it was still on. By the time I reached my destination, the battery died out and the phone switched off and hasn't switched back on ever since. I think the charger slot has stopped working.
1. Could that be it? Will a simple charger-slot change fix my phone? Or could it be something serious (motherboard, battery, etc)? I personally think that it could be the charger slot since the battery died out and then the phone switched off and it wasn't abrupt—which would be the case if there was an issue with the motherboard.
2. If it is bad news, is there any way to access my data? I have some important documents and photos in the phone that I don't want to lose so any way to extract the data from the phone would be useful.
I tried holding vol up + power button, tried connecting the USB cable to PC and switch it on, tried leaving it on charge for 4 - 5 hours and tried switching on, but all in vain. However, if I connect it to the charger and leave it on, the camera part will get heated up. The LED light indicating that the phone is charging will not light up though.
Do let me know if you guys have seen a similar issue. TIA!

Phone confused about charging

Hi guys,
I haven't been able to charge my phone properly for a while - after reset when I plug in the original charger, it charges fast, when I unplug it and plug it back in, it charges slowly. When I unplug it again, it still shows the charging icon forever but it won't charge when plugged in. Factory reset doesn't help. The phone also randomly shows the USB moisture message even though it never got wet. Changing cables and power sources doesn't help.
Build MHA-L29 8.0.0.375(C636)
Thanks for any ideas!
Blow out the USB charging port on the phone. Also, use a toothpick to GENTLY clean out the port of lint and dirt.
And use app that tracks your charging speed. Try ampere In playstore.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that already. Is it possibly a battery issue? I wouldn't mind replacing the battery, which is cheap rather than replacing the phone because of such nuisance.

Thanks, good idea.
Ampere clocks in at -250 mA after reset. Goes to around 1800 when plugged in to a third party charger, which drops to around 300 mA when unplugged (phone indicates that it is charging). After reconnecting it goes up to 1000 mA. I don't have my Huawei charger at work but it's similar - at first plug in it charges fast, after reconnecting it switches to the slow mode.
You should use your original charger. And see if supercharge is working. If not. Give it a shot in a service center. Theyll fix your phone for free if you still have warranty.

I'll try that tonight, thanks. Unfortunately no warranty but I'll see what I can do.

Well, before replacing the battery, try this:
- turn phone off
- connect to original Huawei Supercharge charger and charge up until 90% or so
- disconnect from charger and turn on
Use the phone as you normally would until around 35-40% remains, then try connecting the charger. If the issue persists, I still believe it is a problem with the charging circuitry rather than the battery. Especially if we take the moisture in the USB port message the phone shows. Replacing the USB charging circuitry should not be a big problem AFAIK, it is connected to the motherboard with a snap-on connector, replacing it should be easy as disconnecting the connector, removing the circuit with the port and placing the new one in.
Yep, I guessed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4avHFWjsz4k
Are you having issues where the phone is displaying 30 or so percent battery remaining, but the phone shuts down?

That's a great point. I didn't know the USB circuitry can be replaced by itself. I don't have any issues with the phone switching off. It uses the battery all the way down to 1% or so. I don't see any erratic percentages. I'll replace the part and update you on what happens. Thanks!

Yup, that was the problem. Easy fix. Thanks for the suggestion!
Make sure your microphones still work. I had to replace my USB charging board (which also contains the mics) recently and the first one I tried had a bad mic. I could make phone calls just fine, but google assistant couldn't hear me. I got a replacement and both mics were fine.

I wish I could close this thread but a lot of weird stuff happened since I "fixed" the phone.
Since I bought the battery before I was told it could have been the USB board, I replaced the old battery too. The first charge was smooth and I drained the battery to 0 as recommended. I plugged it back in and it charged to 5% and stopped. I noticed a chemical burn smell that I later realized was coming from the USB circuitry. At this point there was no way to charge the phone but when tried to turn it on, I still saw the red charge icon. I opened it up and put the old defective USB board back in and I was able to charge it. Throughout the day I noticed weird battery drain that I saw recently before the replacement of the USB board. As usual, I tried to restart the phone to fix that but it won't turn on. The battery was at 85% when I shut it down. When I try to turn it on, it won't even show that red charge icon. Nothing. I can't put the old battery back to see if that's the problem, because I bent it during replacement.
Could it be a battery issue this time or is the phone just dead at this point?
