problem with vibrate : pandora 1.05 involved ?

I flashed to pandora 1.05 a few days ago.
Now, since yesterday evening, and after several SR, my vibrate function doesn't vibrate anymore...
(a vibrator that does not vibrate seems a bit useless )
I wonder if it could be the rom's fault since I tried nearly all wm5/wm6 roms floating around, and never experienced this problem.
And, if rom is not guilty, anyone knows a way to have my pda vibrate again ?
Should replacing the battery with a new one do the trick ?

I don't think that is a ROM problem. Still , just to be sure, you could flash any other rom, check the vibra function and if not working, mabe the little engine that does that is dead, or , if it's working, you could try flash back see if it wasn't a bad flash.

Yep ! I was planning to do that tonite. But I'm @ work for now and was hoping for a simple and fast solution....
Despite i'd prefer the matter to be rom related (no offense to mun nor "pandora team", they did a great work), i'm affraid i'll have to get a new battery !!!
NOTA : VIBRATION MECHANISM IS LOCATED IN THE BATTERY, RIGHT ???

Hmm...i really wouldn't know what to tell you...There are some guys that were selling their bricked wizards...but probably would cost much more than you need to spend...Mabe someone else can help you...Sorry... Good luck

In fact....no (ouch....)
I wanted to make a backup prior to make a hard reset to see if HR helped
so i DL and install spb backup.
I run it to get my backup
Spb reboots wizard...and VOILA, vibration is back to life, but I don't know why it stopped working nor why it is working back now nor the period for which it will last...

HTC Home 2.0.1025.721 (New version) - Is it working for you?

I've tried this new version found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1769023) hoping that it would solve the freezing-on-incoming-call problem that I experience intermittently.
I've unionstalled the old version, rebooted, installed the new, rebooted again for the sake of safety, but it doesn't show up in the screen, even if I've enalbed it in Today settings.
Are you experiencing this problem too?

I've totally given up with any version of HTC Home Today no matter how cool it is as it locks up the phone when receiving calls.
The only solution to avoid crash is to run in portrait mode which unfortunately doesn't suit me. Instead, I'll wait for HTC Shift's SnapVue to run in Uni, why not? It runs on HTC Athena!?

yeah, even the HTC Home runs in the athena... it runs in the kaiser...and in the touch, too... so why shouldn't it run on the Universal...
argh... i hate the universal!!!

I think only a few of us are having the freeze/crash problem. Most Uni users don't seem to have any problems at all.

I don't think so. Most uni users switch ROM every 2 days and they don't use the PDA for anything serious at all.
If something suddendly stops working (as it is frequently the case) they just hard reset the device.
I want to use my universal and upgrade the ROM only when needed, when something really new comes out.

I too get this same problem, and it is very annoying, and yes I do use my Uni for more than just a toy.
Hope we get a working solution soon

confirmed... hangs upon incoming call.... the phone would keep vibrating while all keys/buttons/screen area are locked, no way to answer it....does not stop so had to reset.

Nice to see "some" of you with the "crash on receiving calls in laptop mode" problem post here!
I use my Uni too as a PDA & a business tool & that made me to conclude that plugin is not for me. The plugin is a beauty but functionality comes first to me. Unless a solution can be found I've learned to live without it!
Going back on topic, haven't tried this version yet but the previous 2.xxxx versions installs well but causes the horrible crash.

I think the version i've found is newer... the version number is higher, and the file was posted just yesterday (29th december) ... in contrast, the version found at your link was posted on november... (but we may well give it a try!)

but i don't think that version has the VGA fix applied...

Anyway even the link pointed to by wuwuwu doesn't work. Same thing. HTC HOme selected in the setting but it doesn't appear.

me too have the same issue. I have switched to JW 1533 which i feel is the most stable ROM

How can you say that? When the device is in standby, no other program is running. When the device is on, HTC Home causes no major cpu usage (except maybe once a minute, when btw every plugin has a greater chance to use the CPU to redraw itself)

Last week, I flash my kaiser to a new ROM with ver 19199(wm6.1), it work very well until today evening. there is a strange problem with my kaiser.
The problem is : THE SMS Inbox date is alway wrong display. for example:
TODAY is 7 MAR 2008 AND the TIME is 4:00 AM. NOW ,I send a SMS to my kaiser. Soon my kaiser received the SMS, it display" 8 MAR 2008,7:00 PM. It is absolutely wrong, there is only few second interval.
At first, I think this is a ROM bug, so I reflash an other ROM (6.1 19174)and reflash the same radio. but the problem still exist.
Now, I feel this is a HARDWARE problem , I have no idea, help me, please, thinks very much!
in addition, the SMS in the SEND BOX and draft BOX is with nomal display , only INBOX SMS have this problem.

I get the same problem as well. But it's only with certain text messages and voicemail messages

I am waiting the solution, it confuse me all night

Eather it is your operator that has the wrong timezone set (i had this happen to me) or maby you should check out your own timezone on the phone. Hope this helps

the timezone on my phone is right.
I just reflash my rom to 6.0 18538, the SMS with normal display . So this is a bug with 6.1 rom(19174 & 19199), not a hardware problem.
I hope the boss to solve it.

I think this is register table problem , can modify the register talble to solving it.
NOW, I export the register table of the ROM 19199 & 18538, and hope finding the key through comparing them;
I don't know this way is correct, or exist a more efficiency way.

I realise I had a naive idea , that is impossible to solve this problem through my above idea.
Tell me the what can I do ! help.

Not only is there differences in the time .... do you realized that you stated there are 2 different MONTHS ???
one is "MAR" .... the other one is "MAY" !!! is this a typo or is it fact ??
The timezones might seem to be a possible guess/solution.
but if there's a typo regarding the months as well ... that could be the reason why you get no responses !!!

I made a mistake , now I correct it , It is 3th month, not 5th month.
I assure the timezone setting is correction, that should be a bug of the WM6.1 ROM

Hi,
I too am having this issue, where the time is incorrect on the incoming sms but when I reply it shouws the correct time stamp on my sent message. I am using Duty 6.1 rom no cube released March 4. It's is an inconsistant error as it does not happen all the time, only once or twice so far.

Anyone getting this error??? I am testing it out by sending txt messages to myself and notice that the time I receive them is stated as 4 hours prior (ex: if i receive it at 1pm, it shows 5pm)
Anyone hav any ideas on how to fix it?

Yup.
I had the same problem as well. Currently back on WM 6.0 (the ship version for Rogers).
Exactly as you said it, my text messages were approx. 4 hours prior. (I would receive the SMS at 5 p.m. but it shows 1 p.m. - You stated the other way around)
And before I noticed it with actual text messages (it was working previously then all of a sudden changed) Rogers offers a service (WhoCalled) and at that time they were 5 hours behind

hmmm, ****. I don't want to reflash AGAIN.... but maybe no choice. I'll keep trying to figure it out for now.
btw, how are you liking the Rogers ROM? hows the battery life and reception?

it's ok. I came back to this because I found that there was a lot of instability issues with any of the 6.1 roms out there
i'm just giving this a shot for a few days to see how it is
the radio it comes with isn't so great, especially not for GPS
I seem to have a lot of issues with all of my radio's I try.. bad luck I tell you

Ahh i c. I'm using Dutty's 6.1 ROM (released Marck 4) and radio 1.58.21.23 and have good battery life, great gps and reception. I noticed ur in T.O., im in Ottawa.... so if your gonna try a 6.1 ROM again I'd suggest you give the radio mentioned above a shot..

Ok, well after flashing a few roms and testing it IS obviously a WB 6.1 issue (to say the least).
Hopefully we can narrow it down a bit more....
I'm using a ATT Tilt, on the Rogers network in Canada. And using Dutty's new rom (as stated in my signature).
What model are you guys using??
If it is a Tilt issue with 6.1 ROMs thyen this should be moved to the Tilt specific issues thread.
Please post back.
Also, Can someone (whoever is able to) change the name of this thread to reflect that the problem is SMS Time Stamp being incorrect, not DATE? thanks

I was working with two of the 6.1's
I tried the original shipped 3.02 and dutty's March 8 - I liked the original shipped one, Dutty's unfortunately did not run well for some reason. I found that it hagged quite a bit and a lot
the Polaris radio wasn't good for me.. a lot of the 6.1 Radio's seemed fine on my end, but the person on the other end could hear a lot of static and crackling. The new Niki radio was great for GPS and everything, but it would always cut out during a sentence when talking to someone and i couldn't hear what they said. Sad, i know.
As for the time bug, Dutty's I noticed it with every SMS, whereas the original Shipped 3.02 was just only for the "Who Called" SMS messages.
Oh, BTW, I hope you're not painted up like a Sens fan in that picture LOL

Ok, hmmm, and I notice you using a TYTN, not a tilt. I have no Fing klu why this is happening........ I'm gonna call Rogers today and confirm it is fine at their end, I'll post back.
AND... LOL, Dams STR8 I am! SENS ROCK! Finals last year, lol (and yes, I still post that pic with pride despite the their performance lately)

When you call Rogers, try to say that you're a student in like IT or whatever and ask what makes Name Display work. If we can find that out when get get it out of the Rogers ROM and we'll be able use it in other ROMS (hopefully)

Software gone crazy on my C600. Please help!!

Hello there,
I'm by no means an expert with mobile phones, but was recently given a C600 and having done some research on the net managed to unlock the phone myself.
However, although the phone was working fine with an O2 prepay sim card for the past few weeks, it has now decided to have what can only be described as a 'fit' every time i try to use it.
Half the time the three colured screen comes up when i turn it on, which says tornado, and a series of numbers, and then when i can get the phone switched on properly, half the time some of the buttons refuse to work, and the other half the phone will decide to flip between the earpiece volume setting screen, the camera, and the voice command thingy, when all i am trying to do is to text my mate to see if he wants to go for a beer!
Needless to say i haven't had a beer for the last two days, and am a little annoyed about being constantly outwitted by a mobile phone, so i decided to come to the experts for help.
Thanks to anyone who can help me resolve this issue!!

didn't change the rom at all as i heard that the new one was no good, its as it came out of the factory...
however, the toggle button is now not responding at all as with many other c600s from what i can tell on the net, so i may have to install the new rom anyway and hope that solves the problem.
i have a feeling that i will have to go through the entire process of unlocking the phone again when i have installed the new rom also, i'm starting to wonder if it is worth it....but i do really like the phone so it would be a shame to give up

25 and a half hours, but sorry for the impatience its just very frustrating to not be able to use a phone when i have no spare.
i'm pretty sure the problem runs a little deeper than the camera button but i'll give it a try.

Serendipity 7 Bug

Hello all, not much of a poster, would normally just read (been around for years), but when you PM the creator of the ROM and he tells you to post a thread seeking others with the same bug, I shall do it...
I loved 6.4, tried to hold off on 7, but i had a few days off....
7 install went perfect from the website... Then first call, screen goes blank. (A common bug I had read in other 2.3.3). I can live with that bug... But, always, 10 seconds into a call, I can no longer hear the other party, wether on internal or external speaker. Caller can still hear me. If I wait long enough, I can hear again, well for a minute or two, then it will stop working again, like the phone is muting the other end. My mute does not work and still says video call, something the other 2.3.3's do not...
No issues with Skype, the old hacked version still works, so I made it threw the day.
Last night, I tried some other 2.3.3's out there, just nothing compares to Serendipity...
Briefly went to cm_captivatemtd_full-20.zip last night with galaxys-bootloader-JVB.tar and talens in the PDA.... The phone worked... So I know I can get to 2.3.3 I just can not live with out some of the features in Serendipity. Then I reflashed s7, then reloaded the galaxys-bootloader-JVB.tar and talens in the PDA, and she worked for 3 calls, then back to error....
I did read about one other person having this issue 3 days after he installed S7, but can not find that post now. So for MikeyMike, any one else have this issue?
Now for me, is there anyway I can remove all the phone files from cm_captivatemtd_full-20.zip and transplant into my s7? Or maybe it is a different modem file (what I know nothing about).... My little 300 ohm micro usb I made is still holding up, so I am game to try anything....
For now, heading back to 6.4, it just simple was perfect...

Whatever you're on that works, toe *#1234# in the dialer and it will tell you what modem you have.

This sounds unfortunate. I flashed S7 on monday and other than the well documented battery drain bug of Gingerbread, I am having no problems. Phone is more responsive, battery life is better (when you catch the bug and restart the phone). I am very impressed with the build. The CRT screen of animation gets some looks.

I installed 7 after using 6.4 sucessfully. After I got thu, I lost my root.The buttons at the bottom did not work the same as befor and whenever I am connectec to my computer It says connected to Kies and to use the home key to get out. NOT, So here I go off the install 6.4 or something else.
