Can one of you Smart people help us I760 owners? - HTC Vox

Hello. On the samsung i760 the front keypad does not have any sort of t9 mapped to it. This was a function that alot of us expected and I was wondering if its possible for someone in this forum to pull the feature off your phone and put it into a .cab file(donations would be made!!). I am not sure this is even possible but Im trying everything. Thanks

bump please.

I can try it, but I don't have time today. I don't even know when I will have time, my weekend is packed. But I could basically do it!

appreciate it man.

what thee update?

so i guess nothing?

I will upload something today. What kind of T9 do you have? Vox has Tegic XT9!

I dont have t9 at all. I have a front dial pad but my device is a wm6 pro device. Samsung i760 to be exact. Thank you.
btw what does the S720 and S730 have?

I dion't know, but I assume that it is XT9 as well. Maybe I have to dump the ROM, because you can't copy the files from the phone, and in the kitchen the files are not compiled. Let's see!

alright appreciate it.

so bump please good sire.

please??????????

so what is the update here?

Why don't you just use the QWERTY keyboard? Just asking out of curiousity since I had an i760 for a few months and only used the front pad for smart dialing.

To add, the Diamond Keyboard has the T9 function, if T9 is the input style you like.

The reason we got devices with the form factor of front 12 key and slider QWERTY is because sometimes we don't need to type out a full message and T9 does fine on the front keypad. I can't see why there is any good reason for Samsung to have left this functionality out. What a dumb idea.
I do know that I am not getting another device with a different factor. I am really looking forward to the HP Oak. I just hope they don't butcher it like HP are known for.

Tried the diamond keypad thing and it was no dice that is why I am asking for this. This is great for a short answer that does not require a slide of the keyboard.

I guess nothing thank you though.

I Think you should ask for this kind of software on another board of this forum. You could ask in the Main forums and not in the device specific as there are more people there to help ..

Might want to try getting the right phone.

Sorry, but the Treo and HTC phones aren't even the same breed, go searching on the Treo forums for something similar.
My post is about as kind as you're going to receive... sorry buddy, you're barking up the wrong site.

You handled that very well!!
Well i actually have the 3tab home plugin as well as the touchflo cube and they work great, someone in another thread showed me where to get them, i guess you are not as knowledgeable or intelligent as you thought. You do show however, that ignorance and rudeness knows no boundaries.
Have a good day, fool.

I dont think the type of phone really matters as long as they both run Windows Mobile..

I don't go bothering to insult others.
Its a well known fact that the HTC menu system may well be modularized and CAB'd per say but the effect of its usefulness in another hardware environment may well differ due to the differences in hardware. For an uneducated fool as you so call me, you apparently didn't think to take this into your almighty omnipotence before hitting the reply button and piece mealing together a few choice consonants and vowels.
Case and point - the Treo Picture Dial feature works in most variants of devices for Windows Mobile, but not all - therefore is unreliable and results not predictable.
Again, my suggestion stems from looking in the right place for the right developers. You have a Treo device, it would make more sense to look up this kind of information in the 'Treo Nuts' sites (and yes, they're called that). If you want cross collaboration, then bring the files from here to there, but the developers here aren't much involved with the Treo device as this site has primarily to do with HTC variants of devices (my experiences).
Windows Mobile may be Windows Mobile, but you also have to consider other things, OMAP processors, ARM processors, INTEL processors, hardware chipset vendors, hardware response buttons, system integration... the list goes on.
Feel judicially educated... for someone to insult a long standing member of this forum by someone registered for mere days compared to my 1.5 years of assistance and dedication to numerous developers here, your opinion weighs in as very little if not non-consequential sir.
If you intend on being as rude to other fellow developers, testers, or other well standing members here, you're going to find a very rude awakening to future questions. Consider it a polite etiquette reminder to those who you're asking help from to you, a person who in their 6th post hauls off and tells a contributing member of this community that he knows very little of the device he's owned for 2 years and has used about every developer's rom here.
Your response isn't necessary. Just listen - you'll mind well by that.
I see the intentions of your first message, Thank you

Need help

Hi guys,
I am looking to buy a pda for work, but need help on which one. Have been looking at an iPAQ. Will be working mostly with Excel documents. Also, need to be able to work with Word and PDF's. Can anyone give some advice.
Thanks,
Chris

Great. Anyone have any experience with this one - http://www.pressdigital.com.au/phones-classic-pdas-accessories/ipaq-enterprise-handheld-p-5551.html
Thanks
Well, I took the plunge and ordered this one. I will post back to let you know how it goes.
Hi Amiller,
A friend of mine uses the PDA you mentioned. I asked him, and he said he loves it and would recommend it to anyone. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
Chris
I appreciate the tip. I got it today, and love it. Really easy to use. Love how easy it is to check my personal and office emails, open and edit all my docs and excel files. I would like to get a bigger keyboard though for traveling. Any suggestions?
I would recommend the HD and second the G1
Good luck in your desicion
Thanks. I just came across this one. Anyone have any experience with it?

I bought the iPAQ, and I am looking for a good keyboard for traveling.
I bought that keyboard myself a few months ago, and love it. It is as easy to use as a regular keyboard, but very convenient to travel. I love that it is bluetooth and I don't have to worry about plugging it in. I couldn't go back to using my old mini keyboard. You won't be disappointed.
If you have any questions about it, please let me know.

Thanks for the advice cajohnson. I just ordered it and will let you know how it goes.
Received it today. Had it out of the box and typing away in 15 minutes. Works great. I can pack it in the case with my pda and go. Types like a full size keyboard. Makes my pda much more functional. Appreciate all your help.

Help with new smart phone

Hello Guys,
I have coming to this forum for a while and have always been thankful for the help and advice and for making my old MDA work the way is was meant to ;-).
Alas, the thing dies and I wanted to get something new so I bought this thing on eBay;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=290268552198
They call it the hTY Touch Flo or Hantel Q5and it is pre-loaded with WM6. It says it has built in GPS and a few other goodies but the iGo software just hangs the phone and does not fit the screen width and I have no way of changing it. It is also lacking some of the previous great features that I had especially with mfrazz's cooked rom.
I've scanned the forums and tried to search for this phone without much luck and was wondering if it might be similar enough to one of the phones on this forum to piggy back off of.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance.
I couldnĀ“t find anything on this device, it seems a copy of HTC
Its actually quite cool and so far so good but, I need the little extras that were always available here.

Keyboard question and some thanks

My keyboard was destroyed and am looking for a replacement. Will the keyboard for the x7501 work with the x7510? I see some available on ebay. Also, thanks to NeilM and Tadeusz for their comments. I've learned much just by reading them.
Sorry for the late reply- I've stopped using my X7510 now as I have a new Tosh TG01 which is a bit more pocketable!
In short, the answer is no- the connector is the same but the IRQ's are different so a lot of keystrokes come out incorrectly.

Touch Flow 3d on Samsung Omnia 2 (i8000)

Hi guys,
I'm waiting for my new Omnia 2 as it's being shipped from the UK. And while it's happening I wanted to get a little feedback on how to install TF3D on the Samsung. A short step-by-step guide would be appreciated.
I'd be grateful if you could help.
Greetings,
Koala_Beer
i apologise in advance since i dont know the answer but i would like to know if your willing to post ur reseults on winmodevs.com
Sure I will! But still I need a little bit of help. Any tips on how to do it? Plz?! xD
Could you please help me? I'm not really sure whether the xperia .cab with TF3d would work for instance. What is compatibility of .cab files dependent on? Is it the screen resolution, which needs to be the same or is it the size of the screen?

Don't have your hopes up as this forum really only supports HTC products.
You will get more help if you were trying to plug in TouchWiz into a HTC device rather then the other way round.
only HTC ?......and there is a big topic for the Sony xperia x1
So why not the omnia
Because Xperia was build by HTC
In off topic there is a thread regarding samsung, perhaps there you can get more help.
Good luck,
Thanks. I'll try searching in the off topic. However please answer me this question at least.
