I've seen earlier posts with problems with the JABRA BT200 (Which was top of my list for an Xmas pressy).
Can anyone tell me of Bluetooth headset that actually works well (ie without any problems) with the XDA II...
Just so I'm not frustrated on Xmas morning incase Father Xmas does bring me one ?
Greg
ive tried to jabra bt200 and neither would even pick up the call. They bonded OK but that was it! I have yet to find one that's ok.
I've been using Jabra200 for a three weeks with xdaII, having used it with dongle on xda1, and haven't had any of the problems, posted here.
It's great to be able to answer calls simply by pressing button on headset instead of fumbling for phone.
why are there not any more stereo bluetooth headsets ?
renember a few months back i did a search on google and only found one
having a mono headset dont really do it for me when you listen to music on the xda aswell
this is how they looked cant recall that brand but they are kinda ugly and bulky

Hi !
I have HBH-35 and work fine.
Anyone knows where to get Jabra BT250? The store selling must shipped internationally.
Some conflicting info here..
So we have some conflicting info here. One person who the BT200 does not work and one that it does.. Odd.. maybe they fixed a bug with newer version ?
The Sony Ericsson HBH-35 is a bit pricey..
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=105947
The Jabra 250 is better priced :
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=108165
anyone tried it ?
Keep them coming by the way... all suggestions welcome..
Sony Ericson HBH-65 works OK although it was only a test in the shop. But receives calls no prooblem.
Not tried the Nokia yet or a new jabra headset (can't remember the model) will try tonight if I get time.
Cheers, Shire

this search resultet in this link
http://www.expansys.com/regproduct.asp?code=108165
of they dont ship international then i'm sure there are links in the google search which lead to places which does
Ive been using a Plantronics M3000 with my XDA II for a week without any problems. I picked mine up for £56 from dabs so its definately an option worth considering.
HBH-30 works fine
Nextlink Bluespoon Chameleon works beautifully.
I've heard lots of good things about this one, and it's only $40 after MIR, so I ordered it:
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=90119243&loc=111&sp=1
I'll know in a few days (when it arrives) if it works with the XDA II or not..

Hello,
could it be??
My MDA is not working with Jabra 200. I can bond them, then i can receive calls and can make calls!! But, if i switch the headset off and on, it works no more, until i bond them again, but the Jabra was still bondet in the configuration.....
The Jabra seems to be o.k., i used it before with my SE P800.
Best regards, Oliver

OK I tried the new BT headset from BodyGlove tonight in the shop. I gotta say I was impressed, so much so I bought the only one we had lol. Sound was clear and load, and the mic was clear on the other end, well according to the misses.
Thought, mmm, maybe some cash to be earnt here so I looked on eBay to see what they were selling for.
We are going to sell them in the shop for £69.99, I paid £45 for mine at cost price, and there is a guy on eBay selling em for £45 + £2.50 P&P.
I have used this guy before too, you will see some positive feedback from me, so I know it's genuine.
Check it out

HBH-65 works fine on my i-mate.
Jabra Bluetooth
Jabra Bluetooth works superbly!! I am delighted with it!
Bluetooth Headset That Works
I have been using the BLUETREK G2 for 3 weeks I have only had to charge it once in this time and I use it every day it works perfect with XDA 2 very light great sound, bonds everytime, excellent. Bought on ebay for less than £50.00
The skypower EXclip works ok, nothing fancy but it lets you know if you are out of range, lets you know when its on and also doesnt need rebonding, it cant be used yet to originate calls or voice dialling but I hope the new O2 rom will address that issue. Cost me £18 on ebay.
XDA II with Bluetooth headset = battery dead before lunch!!!
Thats what they dont tell you!!
Anybody got good or bad things to say about the Jabra 250 earpiece at all please? Does it need software and if so what, where cost???
Thanks
Pete
Easily available in the UK thanks
It shouldnt need software, its a bluetooth device so should work out of the box, however you will not get many of the features with the current bluetooth stack on xda 2.
I guess you mean the currentbluetooth software on the XDa. Can you advise is there any way to upgrade it and if so what are the benefits?
I have a Jabra with my XDA II and it's excellent.
In windy conditions it can be make it difficult for you to be heard. Otherwise it's great.
Allways bonds without trouble and calls are handed over every time.
I hated it. Worked fine, just hated how it fit, the comfort (lack of), and how the buttons work. I tried a whole bunch of headsets, and liked the HS820 most.
I've posted alot of pro and cons abt the Jabra....
Just to add to some of the cons:
1. If you are the type that uses hair gel, oil, perfume or something like that, be prepared as the metalic gray colour might discolor and come off.
2. Be extra careful when handling the Jabra....mine broke...if you noticed there is a screw that attaches the black body with the top one. If you bend the area there might be chances that the screw mounting might break.
I have it and I love it.
However if you wish to use it outside the slightest bit of wind makes you totaly impossible to hear. So for use in the car or inside it rocks but with wind it s**
Its great.
Only problem I've had with it is the grey part of the case has cracked but that due to where I used to wear it. Doesn;t affect the operation in any way.
I actually find it really comfortable to wear and often have it on all day. I do find in windy conditions not only am I difficult to hear but I also find it difficult to hear properly even with the volume turned right up.
But then again, I suspect none of the headsets will tackle the problem of wind noise.
Only fault I can say is the lack of mute but I think thats due to the profile and not the headset.
Bluetooth earpeices or Headsets
I had a Jabra I could get to grips with it, but many people say its fine. Thats why back in June this year I sourced my own from China...
Since I posted this note below, back before the melt down, I have had a lot of interest and buyers for an Item which I use every day all day. I've had great reports back too.
I now have a website so if you want info you can go there are feel free to contact me direct.. These will be the best spec, fully loaded with goodies and very cheap at £34.98 delivered.. 12 month warranty and 14 day moneyback if you don't like it of any reason... no questions asked..

Hi Everyone
BT headsets have been a thorn in my side for sometime now... I have had problems with Bluetooth headsets and my XDA II, I spent loads of money on all the top models and found something quirky for me with each of them, too bulky, poor talk time, ear hook interferes when wering glasses, car chargers or uSB chargers are extra, no mute, voice dail or auto reconnect facility. My list went on....
Well if you want something doing right or for free, do it youreself, as we say in Yorkshire England...... So that's what I have done.
I researched manufacturers in China able to produce a light weight (16mgs), small (54mm long 12mm thick 20mm wide) product with talk time of 6 hours and a standby of over a week! The earpeice doesn't need a ear hook, it auto-reconnects, it voice dials and mutes. You can pair it with your XDA and 7 other handsets if you really want. It works with all V1.1 compliant mobiles on either headset or handsfree modes.
Better yet it comes with a car charger, wall charger and USB charger in a gift box. Other goodies include 3 interchangeable ear cups, an ear hook if you want to use it and 12 month warrenty....
I have had one on trail for 2 months, while I negotiate with them to release it outside of Asia ( as it is very new product and only on general realese over there 1 month ago). Well they have sucummed and obtained the all important FCC & CE approval and they have agreed to ship a limited supply to the UK..... only 500 in total available in 2 styles, ten colourways..
What does it cost..... well that is the best bit.. something this good I thought it would be eighty quid but I have got them down to £35 ($63) plus P&P. If anyone is interested I can give you more details and piccies....
BT headset
Are you going to offer a wall charger for the US?
I have the Plantronics M2500, actually got it for the crappy a** Ipaq h6315 and of course wasn't stable enough to use at all. But it works perfectly with the Qtek 2020. The microsoft stack may stink but it is much more usable than the Widcomm Version for PPCPE
I have the sony ericsson hbh-65 and I think it is a very good earpiece, clear audio, good volume range, very small and light and it works.
Jabra 200 and XDA2?
Hi, I just bought the Jabra 200 and I'm having serious problems getting it to work with my XDA2. The pairing/ bonding seems to be fine!? There just doesn't seem to be any way of actually switching on the bond?
i.e. Jabra 200 continues to blink every 3 secs (standby mode). Can't get the 2 devices to work as they should?
Any suggestions? Bought my XDA in Asia (ROM 1.66.00WWE, Radio:1.08.00)
Thanks,
Jam
This may be a silly question but have you enabled bluetooth headset mode on today screen? Also I assume you answered yes to the question "this device supports headet mode, do you wish to enable"
another silly question....
For some reason i "deleted" Bluetooth mode enabling from today screen.... How can i put it back ???
I tried Settings/today..... but it doesn't appear anywhere. Can't remember this damn shortcut....
can you remind me ?
BT, PDA, PC
I want to buy a Jabra headset for my i-mate (Himalaya), but I also want to use it with Skype on my PC (basically as a headset/mike combo). Does anyone know if this is possible?
I have a Jabra BT250. Actually I have had two. The first one overheated and crapped out on me while I left it to charge overnight. The second one the microphone stopped working. :x
My overall impression of the headset was when it works, it works well, but I had pretty poor luck. My wife definitely made fun of me when I wore it. It also can be somewhat slow to answer or transfer from headset to handset. Overall on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 6.5.
 FYI, one of the things that I did do that fixed the wind issue when I used it outside was to take one of the foam covers off of an old Jabra EarBoom that was broken, and slipped it over the mic part of the BT250. It kept the wind noise down a LOT more. I am sure you can find the foam covers cheap just about anywhere. (Radio Shack comes to mind). Just a suggestion.

It is possible, but it very much depends on the BlueTooth stack on the PC - I have an MSI BT USB dongle which didn't work at all, and a generic, no-name BT USB dongle with the WidComm 1.3(ish) stack that works fine.
Bluetooth Headset
I just bought a mint used Sony Ericsson HBH-65 off e-bay and I'm very impressed with it. The bonding went smoothly, it holds a bond, doesn't drop calls and is very clear. I've used Jabra headsets in the past and compared to the SE they are cumbersome. The thing I miss the most is voice dialling, surely the whole point behind BT headsets, unless the XDA is in a cradle where you can still access the 'phone keypad (isn't that still a driving offence as you're touching your'phone???).
I'm noticing very faint static when I play back my music files in Windows Media on my Sprint 6700 (Apache). I've tried different headphones and ruled that out. I know the files are good...they play back fine on my Imate Jam.
My guess is that the software or ROM isn't optimized in some way and its causing the distortion.
Anyone else notice this? Any ideas for improving the quality?
After 3 days with the 6700, I'm sending it back. I've been a fan of HTC products back to the first XDA. I've owner 4 of their phones - the XDA, PDA2K, I-Mate JAM, and now the Sprint 6700.
While it's a great product in many ways, it misses the mark in terms of audio quality. For the past year, I've use my I-Mate Jam every day at the gym...it's my IPOD with all my favorite music. I use Yahoo's music service and constantly fill it with new tunes. When the 6700 arrived, I copied my library over and was eager to try it out.
Within five minutes, I was disappointed. First, the volume was amazingly low compared to my JAM. Nealy 40% lower. So much so that on certain songs, it was hard to hear. On my JAM, the volume is so loud it hurts. While I don't turn it up that high, its great to know when you're in a noisy room or on a plane you can hear your music. Bluetooth was even worse. I have an Acura TL with built-in hands free. The JAM works great here. With the 6700, I have to crank the volume nearly twice as much just to hear.
Second, there is a lot of distortion. It's like listening to a dusty record or a worn cassette. Pops, crackles, and skips are very noticeable. My music is encoded at 192Kps...on the Jam its like a CD. On the 6700 its annoying...like I'm listening to my old Sony Walkman from 1985. Some music actually skips a beat.
I just don't get it. This is the 5th generation device from HTC. How come after all this they can't get it right? With each device there have been bad quirks. Things like the PDA2K's faulty Bluetooth support (read the posts and you'll see what I mean) or the JAM's really poor camera. There's always something. Don't they learn from past experience? By now, it should be nearly perfect. Boards like this are full of feedback.
Uggg. I like the rest of the device. WM5 is great. EVDO...WOW! Nice improvements in many areas. The keyboard is solid...more useable than to Palm's Treo. But if you're into music, this device really misses the mark and in my case, that's every day.
I'm going to exchange it in hopes that maybe it's a bad unit. I doubt it though. I've tried four different headphones from the ones inside the box to high-end Bose...all sound the same. It's too bad...I really thought this would be the perfect PDA/Phone combo.

Jabra I can't comment, I have the Moto HT820 (Hence why I make sure it works on my Roms), It is a good headset, great audio quality and battery life with 100 % clear call quality both ways, however it is slightly bulky (OK It's pretty large actually)
beast0898,
thank you for responce, beasty. I will keep it in mind when purchasing.
any comments on Jabra BT620s?
i agree with beast0898.
I own a motorola HT820. And i'm using it from 10 days without charging, with around 1 hour of playback every day and more then 3 hour of connection without playback...
i'm using them right now and sounds good!
I own an itech clip r35. They are pretty good, but not as much ht820. The sound i less clear. Useful for use while driving a motorcycle.
Hi,
I have both HT820 and Jabra 8010.
The HT820 was the first BT stereo headset out there but I wouldn't buy it now. It is too big and heavy and very uncool when wearing it.
Because it is still using BT1.2, very slow and most likely to have lagging sound. There is also no ring tone when receiving calls (only beeping sound).
I was always thinking to get the Jabra 620 but when I check the site at that time. I saw Jabra 8010 which is much better headset there both. Sound is good and it is deattachable and light. Also has OLED display showing your Contacts, who is calling without looking at the PDA phone. It also show battery status and can pair with mutliply headsets. I would highly recommend Jabra 8010 and there are not that pricey from eBay.
HTC BlueAngle (ROM: WM6 Pro CE OS 5.2.1933) with HT820
HTC Universal (ROM: Beasty & Laurentius 2.08.01) with Jabra 8010
hi, before anybody says use the search on the forums, id like to say i have and still cant find anybody recommending stereo headset for the touch diamond, i have read about the jabra headset as well the sony and the nokias but cannot make mind up, please can someone share some of your experiences with your touch diamond.
p.s i have ordered from expansys the htc bh s100 only to find out that they are the french version with limitations on volume and have been in the expansys forum reading complaints on the unit so thats going to get canceled,so any help is appriciated,
thank you
Yus
The Best headset I have found is a Motorola headset the "MOTOROKR™ S9" you can see the manufacturers website here --> http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/S9/
Great battery life, comfortable, good sound quality when streaming audio as well as when using as a hands-free headset (provided the surrounding environment is not too loud).
Not exactly cheap...but it's a rugged little unit and quite resistant to environmental hazards..like washing machines
I also use the s9 and i love it. Highly recommend
thanks for replying people, the s9 doesnt suit me, but ive narrowed it down to the sony ericsson 220 are they any good?
yes actually i had this with the Sony Ericsson w960i. There a really good headset i liked that you could plug any headphones into it but found the wires redundant.
I use the plantronics 855 (I think thats the number), got no complaints at all, good sound qulity, great battery life and pretty damm comfortable.
