Just trying to save as much battery as posible....
So I found Pocket Toolman, and did the "Screen off during call"....guess what, it won't do it on the Elfin (Touch), anybody has it running?
BTW: I'm running a custom ROM and SPB Mobile Shell, just in case.
Paul
I dont know if you tried this one but you can simply press the power button to turn the display off when you are on the phone.....
works for me...
If thats what you meant...
Doesn't s2u2 do it?
Thanks you were right, now in search of a decent wallpaper for s2u2

I looked everywhere and couldn't find if the Touch Pro was compatible with iPhone Slider by chrismrulz or S2U2 by A_C. And if they are which is less buggy with the phone. Also do either activate when the phone goes into sleep mode automatically or do I manually have to activate them? Thx in Advance.
I'm using A_C's S2U2 with my TP and it works great. The only caveat is that currently S2U2 isn't able to lock the TP's home key, so when your phone is locked and you press that key, it bypasses the lock and opens your home screen.
It 's compatible but we don 't use it because of memory drain that we notice. That 's why nobody 's talking about it.
Oh clandestino_usr is using it... LOL.
Is it a touch pro issue because I saw a video on youtube with a Touch Diamond using S2U2 and it didn't look any slower. And from what I hear chrismrulz's iPhone Slider takes even less resources to run than the previous.
I am looking for an option whereby one can tap the screen to wake up device after lock. I tried to look for this setting but it isn't anywhere in the settings, its only for the hardware keys. Since I am using S2U2 I thought this would be useful, but the only way seems to be using the power button, anyway of using the tap on the screen to bring up the S2U2 interface? Thanks in advance.
I've got a different oppnion of usefulness in this case... I'd hate the thought of the PDA activating in my pocket waiting for me to unlock it, the screen always on is a miniature black hole for the battery...
I don't think there's a feature that would enable this, or any 3rd party program that would help you do this... but then again maybe I'm worng...
I agree with you, the only reason that prompted me to look for this option was because I installed S2U2. Now when I want to unlock device I have to switch on power before I use S2U2, whereas it would have been more convenient if I were to only tap the screen and the power turned on. Anyway S2U2 has an option to power down which can be set for seconds, there by saving battery power too. Strangely this option was there when I was using the XDA Wizard on WM 5. Maybe they removed it in WM 6?
Sorry, I don't know about that, I've never used S2U2 before, and I never will because when I want access to my PDA then I want it now, without any delays... but even if it has a power down option it wont help if its the pocket of my jeans...
hello, I find a little soft (.exe) for switch off my tactile phone with a screen button. I have windows mobile 6.1.

Im not sure exactly what you want.. but if all you want is to turn off the device by pressing something on the touchscreen instead of using the power button theres tons of apps that can do it..
iLauncher has a shortcut programmed for Shutdown, some of the SPB Tools do too. Im sure theres hundreds of things capable of it.
I think there was a VJ util that did it as well.
Or try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544016

can't help you finding a "screen button" though
Hello everybody
Today i flashed the new official rom on my topaz.
But i`ve got one little problem. When turning of the display the lockscreen doesnt activate automatically. So i first have to press start and then press lock.
Isn`t there another way? So when you turn of the display it automatically launches the lockscreen.
Thnx

Thnx.
I tried it but it doesnt work...
there is a reg edit to lock the display when the screen dims.
Can't remember where it is but it's lockenable under control/backlight i think..
It will auto lock when you turn off the display as well...
Just use some reg editor and search for "lock", you'll probably spot the key you're looking for.
I use http://montecristoff.webs.com/diamondtweak.htm and there I activated automatic lock, and everytime I press the power button the phone locks and the lockscreen is on. Hope that helps.

no need for any of these 3rd party apps, this was a major niggle of mine with 6.1 and 6.5.
Use RegEdit (if you have it by default with winMo 6.5) or use TotalCommander, navigate to the following registry option:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable
and change the value from 0 to 1, save and exit.
Now when you use the TD2 power button on top of the device to turn of the screen it will automatically lock the device too.
Worked on my TD2 using original 6.1 ROM and the 6.5 Leo cooked ROM's from Dutty I have used in the last month.
this is well documented tip in these forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570757
There is nothing like autodevice lock in official htc 6.5 rom. There is HKCU/controlpanel/backlight/locklevel. I changed the value from 0 to 1, soft reset and nothing happened. I`ll try some of diamond tweaks...
...sorry, double post...
Hi there, does anyone konw why after a period of time the lockscreen will only show upper half instead of full screen? Any solution there ? thanks.
easy solution
found it out the other day myself, but seemed to had lost this post lol
if you hold down the 'end call' key, that will lock the screen for you, save you having to go into start then lock
6.5.1 Build 23504
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable
Toggle from 0 to 1
How can I change that in the register?
Do I need an app for that?

As I mentioned back in post #9 you can use RegEdit in WinMo 6.5 or download and install TotalCommander to edit the registry, there are many other registry editing tools out there as well just, search for them

Works for me Dutty 6.5 Leo HG R1
I just tried a lot of key-combinations and I got one that works (for me...).
If you press the home key (don't release it) and then press the powerbutton. Now it will normally lock the device.
(It works for me, on WM6.5, original HTC rom.)

I tried that. It is OK to lock the mobile when the backlight dims or when putting the mobile to sleep.
But I wouldn't autolock the screen when the backligt dims, only when putting the mobile to sleep (manually or automatically). A solution generally for WM6.5 or particularly for Topaz - Duttys ROM?
Hi guys,
I really tried to find it out on my own first, but it seems that Im not skilled enough to do that.
After installation of S2U2 everything is working flawlessly. After some (set) period of time, s2u2 will lock screen correctly. Even power button will lock device using s2u2 application. But that damn "lock" button in startmenu will lock screen with classic WM lockscreen. I know it is not some bug and its normal, but question is:
1. Is there any way how to remap even lock button to s2u2 application?
2. Or, is there any way how to disable this button and make it invisible?
Solution for first one would be awesome.
Thank you!
EDIT: Sorry for my bad english language.
Same here
+1 for this idea. I have the same problem, really annoying. After I've installed the" move slider to bottom" .cab and shortly after uninstalling this .cab I found out that the original default slider had been disabled and some kind of cheap unlock-button has came in place of the original slider. I couldn't get this original slider to work again so I've installed S2U2. But after installation and configuration of S2U2 I've noticed that the original slider also is active. In other words the S2U2 app is working perfectly, but is working simultaneously with the standard onlock button. (#@^%^$%)
How can I turn this off?!?
(edit: now the unlock button appears randomly and not every time I unlock the phone with S2U2. But it' s still annoying enough to want to have it disabled.) Anyone?

Well, its little different issue than I have in my mind, but it was same on my device. I have found solution for your issue in S2U2 FAQs:
Q. How to disable the WM6.5 built-in lock?
A. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4996782&postcount=2961
First install cab from that link and then install S2U2. Issue with double lockscreen (first s2u2 and after unlock present second standard WM locksreen) should dissapear.
BUT, if you click on "Lock" button in startmenu. Device will be locked with standard WM locksreen not S2u2.
NOTE That phone power button and time-lock are working with S2U2 perfectly... I just want to remap event this button for S2U2.
I'm looking exactly for the same functionnality!
Good idea
Anybody got a trick to map or hide this "unlock" button?
+1 i like this function too

the new version of s2u2, 2.30, does that for you, remaps the lock button inside the start menu to s2u2.
