I've install HTC Home (and HTC Home Customizer) but I have a small problem that hopefully someone can shed some light on. At the home screen, when I click on the messaging icon it takes me in to the MMS messages instead of my outlook e-mail, is there any way to change this to the default outlook account instead of the MMS one?
Thanks
I noticed this today too. I had originally (when I configured my Hotmail) set it to "Default". But somehow over the last few days the MMS/SMS account in Wm6.1 has taken over that role.

I woke up this morning to yet another lovely Sprite Backup crash. Well after killing Sprite and rebooting the phone, I noticed my emails were gone. To be more specific, the account is still there and working fine. The email icon at the botton of TF3D shows the count of unread emails as normal. The main area of the TF3D email screen simply states "No Accounts". I have tried deleting the account and readding it to no avail. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Is there a registry key I can look at?
Looks like I have the same issue, except only the hotmail icon is visible. Outlook icon is gone. Seems sprite crashed during an attempted scheduled backup.
I wonder if anyone encounters this. Or is this normal by design?
rom: wm6.5, HTC's official release for diamond2 in southeast Aisa, WWE.
When the phone is started, Task Manager does not list the program (or process?) SMS/MMS.
In this state, SMS messages can be received normally, with proper notifications I set.
After I reply to a message, tap the cross in the upper right corner of the inbox (native inbox of Outlook), and return to the Home screen, I can never receive message notifications. As soon as I open th inbox again, the notifications all come.
This is strange, since incoming messages can be received, even when SMS/MMS is not listed in Task Manager.
The only explanation can be that the system process incoming messages and delivery notifications in different ways?
I have a HTC Touch, which carries wm6.0. The same thing happens on this phone. I haven't noticed this during the use of HTC Touch in the past year and the use of Diamond2 during the past four months!
Can anyone confirm this?
Ok guys. Sorry if I have simply stumbled over a setting or something but for the LIFE of me I cannot get the HTC Mail widget OR the Mail shortcut to notify me when I receive a NEW mail. The only notification I get is in the notification bar, but no "1 new email" in the widget (which btw IS logged into my gmail account)
I have been tweaking random settings and sending emails to myself but still the only way I can actually get to my NEW mail WITHOUT touching the notification bar up top is to go into the actual Gmail APP.
What's the point of the widget if it won't update on it's own and let me scroll through messages?
Is there a PUSH feature somewhere I can't find....I have looked everywhere and it's REALLY pissing me off.
Please don't flame...just got my hero rooted and ModAco 1.3 installed a few days ago....everything else works flawlessly. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Matt
Bump...please tell
Same problem here
I'm having the same problem, its not notifying me of new emails unless I actually open the widget.
Mine is connected to my works exchange server.
EDIT: Think I figured out my problem, when I would kill tasks with the task manager it was one of the selected tasks. I've added MAIL to the ignore list and we will see what happens from here.
Have you tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945298?
I use the K-9 email app for some of my email accounts. I have it working the way I want save only one problem. Right now when I get a mail it flashes the subject line or the first line of the email across my notification bar at the top of my screen. This is especially troubling when I give my phone to any colleagues when they want to look up/browse something and I've a mail coming in.
Go SMS app doesn't have this problem. I can set each a privacy mode to just display text coming in, but not the actual message in text. Is there a similar "privacy" setting for K-9 that I'm missing?
Hey all, this may be a stupid question but I figured I will ask regardless. I set up the default mail app for my Yahoo email and I get the red dot when a new email showed up. I go in and read the email, but when I back out, the red dot remains.
Same goes for the default SMS app, but that one isn't consistent. Sometimes the red dot goes away. Sometimes it stays.
I tried using the Yahoo email app, but it doesn't seem to actively look for new emails until I open the app (it actively looks in the background on my work's Galaxy S3).
Does anyone else have the same issue? I swapped out the SMS app for Textra (I tried Hangouts but had issues with multiple people and MMS messages).
having same problem with mine. I just ignore them.
