Copy contacts to SIM? - HTC Vox

Anyone knows how can I do that?
I have added many contacts to my Vox. I need to flash it now, and don't want to loose them. So is there some app which can copy all of my contacts to my SIM card?
Also, will apreciate if someone tells me a way to make default: every contact I add, goes to my SIM card.
Thanks.

Transferring Contacts from WM5 to sim.. How?

Hi, I was just wondering, how do you send WM5's contacts to the sim card? In the contacts menu, there is no such option and the sim manager on my phone does not have this option either. I need to do this in order for the caller ID of my headset to work. Thanks in advance.
edit:
nvm found it...
Would you mind sharing how you exported your WM5 contacts to the SIM card? SIM Manager only allows you to import contacts from the SIM card into WM5. Thanks!
Ah, I found one manual method here:
http://www.htcwizardweb.net/node/556
Anyone know how to do a "select-all" dump to the SIM Card?
Try the updated sim manager. (version 5.22) It has a "contacts to sim" feature.
I don't know how to upload to the xda ftp yet so it is hosted here:

Great, thanks!

Hiding SIM contacts

Is there anyway to hide the contacts saved on your SIM?
That is, at the moment I have all my contacts saved on the phone with their full details, I also have a basic copy of my contacts saved on my SIM for when the SIM is placed into my second phone
But when I open up the Caller ID contacts by default it shows all contacts, both on phone and SIM so I end up getting duplication.
I know I can set the view to Contacts only every time I go into it but I would prefer a more default way of doing it.
Also I'm finding that Caller ID contacts takes a while to open and list all contacts even when my SIM card is empty, is this normal?
Thanks for any help.

Yes... use Search on "showsim"!
The Wiki is also your friend...

It is not a program - it is a registryvalue.
Search teh registry for the value "ShowSim" and set it back to "1" instead of "0".
Use totalcommader for it.
And the simcontacts are back again.
But that is what it shoud do - Hide the contacts.
lol
It is function for WM5, but in WM6 don't exist registry value "ShowSim"

It only inserts a reghack. you can do it your own next time. BTW - why don´t you synchronize with outlook. I don´t have any number on sim card. hehe
I know im wierd but is there a way to have it ONLY show Sim contacts in the default contact manager in WM6? And likewisw when you create a new contact that it gets saved to the Sim and not the phone? That's the way i had it set on all my previous phones (non-smart ones like my Razr) Is when i created a contact it'd save aucomatically to the Sim. I know i can create a Sim contact in Sim Manager so that part isnt really a huge deal. I'd just like for my contact list to only load them from the Sim. If that is an option. Or just ShowSim = 1 and delete the contacts on the phone?
oh and btw i found this thread by using the search function

I have a problem with this. I use the hidesim and set the value to 0 and the Sim-contacts do not show. So far so good, but after a soft reset they are back again......What can I do to solve this?
I have a Touch Cruise with WM6.
many thanxs on the FILE u upload !!!! i was about to ask it as well .
i'll just add that I normally used Advanced Configuration tool since TNT ROMS always had it installed. I did use it in a couple of other ROMS too.
you don't need to delete SIM Contacts! Use RilhasHideSIM that work after soft reset.

SIM contacts in Phone.

Hello people
with my touch cruise I have a small but annoying problem.
I have all the SIM contacts in the phone together with the normal contacts and this creates double contacts.
I have tried to modify the register HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Control Panel / Phone --> Show Sim from 1 to 0 and this works great only in the contacts.
When I access the phone and look for contact by using the Smart Diealing, I continue to have double the contacts that is very annoying.
Is there any work around to solve this issue ?
thanks for helping

Only way around this known to me is to delete contacts from SIM.
Which, IMHO, is not a bad thing - SIM is very limited regarding data it can store for each contact. And you will regulary make backups/syncs, right?

Yes. U R right but the SIM is the only safe back-up I have.
Anyhow I will follow your suggestion. The risk is worth .
It remains a silli limitation for a mobile so advanced and with a SO on board.
Thanks for the assistance.

Regarding SIM being only backup.... you do have SD card in your Polaris?
I'm using PIM Backup (scheduled) to auto-backup daily all contacts, messages and tasks to my SD card. Then you only have a matter of copying those backups to your PC, CD, DVD... whatever...
It's freeware and fits my needs for unattended backup.
Of course, I do also have a sync with Outlook...
Thanks for the suggestion. I will follow this.

[Q] Transferring contacts from Google account to sim?

I was wondering if there is a way to transfer my contacts from my Google account to my sim card?
I don't want my contacts to be with Google.
But even when adding a new contact I can't see an option to put it to the sim card, rather than on the account.
Can anyone point me into the right direction?
Sim contacts are rubbish and can only store very basic information. Perhaps you mean "phone contacts"?
Anyway doesn't look like you can. Not sure why you don't want contacts in google but you could simply turn sync off then delete the contacts via gmail.
Be sure to keep backups though

go to Contacts->Settings->Contact Storage->(it will show google account).gmail.com->(click on that)->Select SIM Card (also check Remember This Choice if you want all newly created to save into SIM or leave it unchecked so that it will prompt everytime)
SIM storage is limited. just 250 for me in India (I believe it should be the same everywhere)
Also in Contacts->Settings->Import/Export, you will have an option to export to SIM.
But sadly, SIM will store only phone numbers and mail IDs may be!
not address and anniversary details!
Hope this helps! :good:
Hello.
I have 4.4.4. and i do not have these settin options?
I do not use online contacts. I use only sim contacts.
Is there another solution?

Default Sim Card Contacts

I have no idea how it happened. I'm old school and prefer to have absolute totalitarian authority over my contacts. I don't link/sync contacts to Google, or use Sim Card. I prefer to store them in Phone memory via import/export.
It's not a big deal since I don't store my contacts on the sim card; however, the [6] default Verizon Wireless (USA) Sim Card contacts are not there anymore--now there are [0] contacts stored there. Again, it's not a big deal, but I'd like to be able to restore them back if I knew what the names/numbers were--hence this thread.
Can anyone out there post a vcard, or csv file, etc or whatever of the STOCK DEFAULT Sim Card Contacts off the Verizon Wireless HTC One M8 please? There were 6 of them. I'd appreciate it.
It's just one of those things--if something's not there, and one didn't mean to do it--usually one would like to correct it, lol.
Thanks.
