Best firmware or rom for Tornado is????

I got a vodafone V1240.
Vodafone firmware sucks. wanna update to other party firmware.
Currently which maker firmware is the best now? and the latest?
If can. pls provide link and the code for the latest rom? Thanks a lot.

I have a QTEK 8300, same as the Imate SP5m. I downloaded and installed the SP5m ROM (found it via search of this web site), don't have the link any longer. It's much better than the original QTEK Rom, and this one is a lot faster than the previous Mobile 5 ROM that came on the device.

UPDATE: I just loaded the current QTEK ROM for the 8300 (find it on this forum); it's great; much faster than the Imate SP5m I had installed previously. E shows vs. G when connected to an Edge network.

has anyone got a qtek rom with spanish language on it??? that's the only reason why i still have the imate rom... or any way to get the t9 in spanish to add it??

[REQ] Searching unbranded WM 6 ROM for SGH-i620/i640

Hi,
i have a vodafone i640 (the i620 from vodafone is called i640 and has a metal front) with windows mobile 6 from ebay.
All networks can be used, but I want to delete all the vodafone stuff. I never had a smartphone with wm6, so I need to know whether
• I need a new unbranded firmware
or
• remove are there tools to delete the vodafone live! links and the stuff?
• Do I need a special WM6 version, because the uncommon display resolution of 320x240!?
A adress where I can get unbranded firmware or tools for this would be really helpful.
The i620 should also work on the i640.

the i620 has diferent hardware from the i640, so i guess the i620 rom wouldn't work in a i640.

hi, i revive this post to say i got firmware for this handset and cedownloader , but do not know how to put i flash mode , does anyone know how?
if needed can share this fw.

I have i640v (voda) and searching (with no luck) for clean wm6 or 6.1 rom.
kaligola this firmware is for i620 or i640 (its not the same hardware).

sorry for 620 tought was looking for this too , not have for 640 sorry anyone knows how to put in boot mode this i620?

Does a 6.1 rom exist for the i620? Also, to the person who has a a rom for the i620, where did you get it? I just purchased a i620, should be in this Friday...I can't wait!!

Yea, I was thinking about that...but I just need to read up on how to dump rom and what I can change and not change(still looking for a good thread on how to do that).
But mainly I'm looking for 6.1rom for my samsung i620. Someone on here said they have a rom downloaded, but I'm not sure if it's a 6.1rom or just a clean 6.0 rom

In my opinion it's not possible to register a non HTC branded device at HTC e-club, because they use different serial numbers. But you can get nearly all updates from there here in the forum.

try searching. but I don't see why you have trouble with wm6.1. WM6.1 is a lot more stable and smoother than wm6.0 in my opinion. If you have freezes, that might be due to your SPL not upgrading. All the upgrades you want is on a WM6.1. I have a tilt and I can't register on eclub either. Thats why we have the connections to xda developer community.

I am not sure if the ROM would work but even if it did you would flash some stuff you don´t need like the files for the slideout QWERTY keyboard or the scroll wheel and the front camera.
Anyway if you haven´t found this already yourself, I´d try going through this thread Jade Official ROM links

You need the specific ROM for Device to flash, otherwise all you will have is a brick...
Check the HTC Touch 3g WIKI and subforum and i'm sure you will find what you need.

When I bought my tilt on ebay, it was sluggish, and sometimes non-repsonsive on win 6.1. I did a lot of reading, and decided to flash a rom from xda. I found that my phone had been flashed before, it had olipro's first spl. After I went to jockyw2001 3.29 spl and flashed Sakajati's Rhodium, it was like night and day. It was like "can this phone really be so cool?" I've been upgrading roms ever since. Like one poster indicated, the spl might be your problem. IMHO, you'll not find any better roms than what is cooked at XDA, superior to stock in so many ways.

Have been given a HP514 must say I do like the phone and has convinced me to buy a WM phone in the future..
Anyway does anyone know of a newer rom than whats on the HP site or indeed a wm6.5 rom????

update on hp site is NOT WM 6.1, it`s only WM 6 update!! And the WM 6.1 is absolutely new version of windows mobile. The WM 6.1 rom is also in english.
Excuse me for me english, I meant WM 6.5 is now developing.

Actually I don`t now exactly about back up... You better copy all your data to PC.
The most news in WM 6.1 is CHome with its advantages
The rom is good-stable, not worst then WM 6

Well have download the file and update util from site but it will not let me update etc stating the following:
Code 203: Update is Incompatible
This version of the iPAQ update utility is incompatible with your iPAQ. Please obtain the correct updatev and try again.

My phone is as stated HP514 With WM6 ver 2.05.02 English rom(am from UK)
any ideas as to how to sort this prob out???

The project of WM 6.1 is commercial, so you must pay for the FULL rom 10$, BUT if you don`t need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth you can use absolutely working LITE version. There are ONLY Wi-fi and BT non-working!

And THE MOST IMPORTANT NOTICE: Update your device only from 2.05 russian rom!!! Another way your phone will be broken!!!

You are wrong! If you think that in About wrote WM6 - it not mean you have updated WM6! This WM 6.5 has Titanium, new dialogs and menu, and it`s impossible to update WM6 to any other WM.
