removing software - HTC Vox

heya
i want to remove some software from my htc s710 (well, the vodofone v1450)
dont worry, im not so thick that i dont know how to
im just wondering if there is any way of removing some of the software already in the rom?
theres a couple of things i dont use so i just want to get rid of them

It is not possible to remove anything that came with the ROM.
If you are particular about the software you need, try the Lite ROM by frauhottelmann. It has just the basics. You install whatever additional tools you need.

dont really feel like flashing my device so, im just gonna have to put up with it
thanks anyway

Where can I find an indipendant shop in the southUK that will upgrade my rom for me?

HI!
I have got an xda Serra and I have noticed all this stuff about flashing or cooking a new rom onto the HTC touch to upgrade it to be able to run WM 6.5.
This is something I would like to do however I am a complete dummie when it comes to technical stuff to do with the phone and I have already tried some stuff that is supposed to work on the HTC touch but it does not work on my xda Serra.
Does anybody know of an indipendant phone shop that may have a technician who knows what to do and has cooked many other xda Serras and can safely complete the process on my phone, so I know it will work and I will succcessfuly have WM 6.5 and will not damage my phone.
I live in wiltshire however do not mind traveling up to london or other city's around the south!
Any ideas are gratefully recieved!!!!!!!
Its not rocket science mate, all you generally need to do is flash hardSPL (To recover the phone should you do something wrong), then pick the ROM you want (Make sure you have a ROM for the right phone!), download it and run the EXE. Its as simple as that.
I doubt a shop would do a ROM flash. The ROMs are third party software effectively, and I would not imagine a shop would want to get involved with modding your phone.
Besides, once you flash ROM once, you will probably want to do it again when a better one comes out. Best learn yourself...

Rooting....

....i wanted to be sure on this, because i never saw a definitive answer.... if i root my Captivate, does it hinder at all my ability to upgrade to Froyo at a later time? i know it voids warranty and all, but that im not so concerned about, because removing su should remove all noticeable traces of a root id think..... but definitely dont want to lose my ability to upgrade whenever Samsung and AT&T get that done....

From all the reading I've gathered, you will be able to get Froyo update whenever Samsung releases it, but it is advised to check back here to see if the update breaks the root or not. And until you find out, you can always deny the update to Froyo on your phone.
ok, so if i root, ill still be able to upgrade to Froyo, it just might break the root? i see so many reasons around TO root, BUT dont wanna hinder Froyo when it becomes available. is there a way to REVERSE a root though, just in case i DO need to make a warranty claim or something?
You can reverse a root by using the Odin3 launcher with the built-in stock firmware that you can find elsewhere on this forum. I haven't tested it myself (Odin3 doesn't like Linux ) but from reports by others it should make your device exactly as it was when you bought it. Thus, no warranty issue, and a perfectly clean slate to upgrade from.
If you want to upgrade straight from the rooted 2.1 to 2.2 when it comes out, just wait a little bit for some people who know their stuff to post whether it goes smoothly or needs some fiddling.

[Q] HTC HD2 - Android issues!

OK so im new here and new to downloading roms and things like that. So i Beleive i downloaded Android 2.2 NAND or something.(Please for give my lack of Tech Knowledge) But anyway i love it and everything but there are some things i noticed after i got it.
Some calls become distored(sound wise)
I can no longer connect to 3G or H...(Which means no internet!! unless with WiFi)
My Phone mounts as a disk drive so im not able to try and flash it! It cant detect the phone or something.
So because of this i was wondering if there was anyway to remove android and go back to My HTC LEO! Or a way to remove so i can re-install it??? I really dont want to have to buy a new phone!
Sorry if this was posted already. . . but i could not find a answer that helps.
PLEASE HELP !!!

Just got my first andriod phone and....

I'm lost >_<'
Sorry, but I don't know where to start. My friend texted me a link to this forum so I could get help. I've already spent hours, and I still don't know what I should do.
So far:
1.) I was hoping on finding a way to remove all this useless AT&T Crap, HTC Likes, HTC, Blockbuster, etc. Is there a way without rooting my phone
which brings me to...
2.) Is there a way to effectively organize the all apps section?
3.) I noticed that the battery is really low and barely lasts a day. Would underclocking the cpu be possible to save battery life if I root my phone?
4.) My friend said I should root my phone. I've been looking around the past two days about it, but I'm still confused; there's like all these various ROMs. I'm assuming this is similar to the idea of various distros that derive from Ubuntu/Debian? But my main concern is the idea of rooting something itself. I use Ubuntu and what I've learned from forums and using it is that being a superuser for the whole time is a big no-no. I know it's just a phone, but I've heard of phones being hacked so I don't know if rooting is safe... Is it? How does a rooted OS generally work? Is there like a way to not have root access at all the times (like a guest account) and use root via typing in the admin password?
5.) Warranty - So I have 30 days to return the phone if I don't like it (which is unlikely ). Anyway, say something bad happens (e.g. I flash some ROM and I can't figure out how to fix my GPS or something). Is there a way to get it back to a stock, unrooted ROM incase something goes wrong? In other words, if for any reason I want to (and can) return my phone, is there a way to get back to unrooted-unmodified Froyo?
6.) Speaking of flashing, I've read terms about a goldcard, S-Off, and clockwork. The first two has to do with the sim card and making the phone unlocked I think? If so, is it necessary to have these/do these things in order to root a phone? I don't care much about unlocking my phone; I'm stuck on AT&T (I don't pay for the plan; my older bro does). As for clockwork, I think it has to do with recovery of something? Can someone elaborate on this for me
7.) Flashing - I've read about flashing ROM's but I also heard about flashing the radio and it being more, if not very risky. If I want to root my phone, is it necessary to flash the radio?
8.) Kernels - I know kernels have to do with a phone's performance, battery consumption, etc. but I see different kernels being used with different ROM's. Are they interchangeable or are the custom ROM's built around each kernel making it unique?
9.) IF I do decide to root my phone, which custom ROM should I use? I really like the HTC sense so I'm hesitant to change if I lose it.
Sorry, I know this is too a lot. I read the stickies, but there's only two question marks under "Guides | Rooting: (The guides to the basics)." Hope someone can answer these questions

No, you can't remove at&t apps without rooting.
Rooting is fine. You're not personally messing around with system files just casually using your phone. They're modified when you install roms, kernels and radios.
