1.could any one help me how could i find(download link) the best(with no errors lags & hangs) wm6 series rom for my qtek 9000 device?
2.i'm new to world of pocket pc & don't know how to upgrade my pda. so do me a favor & get me a link to instructions( for upgrading my qtek 9000.
That depends ...
You must read the forum and see what compromise do you want to do between bugs, functionality and features.
Also you must pay attention at bootloader version: <1.2 is an G3 device; <2.01 is a G4 device. You must see witch version of ROM is right for you.
On my G3 device I found to be good Jwright and Thingsonspring for WM6. For WM5, I've found good Helmi anf KdsKamal.
On my G4 - many hangs until I've put pdaviet 2.11.11 witch is good for me.
Also, you may want to make your device Super CID and unlock it.
But, remember... all rom's may be good for one and bad for another. You must read the forums and see what users say about it.
Take your time and read the forum. You will find many usefull informations witch is good to know for you. If you don't read, you risk to brick your device.

The G3 and G4 relate to the internal chips of your device, and define what model of Universal you have, and shouldn't be confused with 3G and GSM.

Nice ... but the SP5 ROM seems to be only a test version (no idea how old it is). The question is: Does it make much sense to flash a test version, when the official i-Mate ROM will come out in the next few days? ... I my opinion: NO

Edit: Aha ^^ that version has been leaked and around for a little while. Very stable and works good.

Unfortunately I can confirm that the Universal rom uni_cdl_13068_130153_10900_wwe_test.exe does NOT have A2DP - at least, its not working with my HT820 Motorola headphones, and I have an XDA2 with WM5&A2DP for buzzdev.net that DOES work with them.

Yes and no yes the keys do work but not as they would normally you just have to modify the shortcuts for example the one with the t goes to messages instead of my.tmobile.com etc.
Any ideas what improvements there are with the test rom "http://rapidshare.de/files/14565845/to_cdl_eur_2060_253311_0114_hertz_test.exe"
Is it possible to go back to older ROM later on if upgraded to test ROM?

Windows Mobile 6 ROM HTC Hermes devices - it appears that the build number & OS version is much newer compared to any available Universal ROM... As far as I know the core of WM6 OS is similar on any device, with the customisation going only to drivers, device-specific settings e.t.a. So may be it's possible to "mix" somehow updated files from this build with our ROM-s, especially the damned "qwes.exe" system process that is responsible for all Universal memory problems?

That's not the official HTC ROM, it's by someone else, there are threads about it in the Hermes forum.
It's specifically for USA users on Cingular, hence the CUSTEL ROM version.
The today screen theme is also a dead giveaway.

Builds 17xxx are considered to be FINAL version of WM6. So my question was - is there a possibility to enhance OUR Universal ROM-s with newer files from the updated OS?

It may not actually be newer though, as there are several roms with different version numbers, but are based on the same images.
I would wait until HTC release the official WM6 updates to some of the other devices, and make the most out of those updates, rather than rework the same tired and worn out files we have had for ages yet again.

I have downloaded the ROM and will check to see if it is a legit core. If it is then I will try to work with it, but please understand that it will take me weeks to get something ready for others to use.

By the way, I wonder why there's 31 meg of RAM available on Hermes with the same 64 (~49) and WM6? Could it be that VGA screen or some HTC drivers take THAT MUCH memory compared to other devices?
And there's also one question... 64\49 - does any version of WM really need to "eat" that much? Is there a way to reduce the amount of RAM allocated for the OS "from the beginning"?

Using WM 6 on MDA Pro

I have a MDA Pro and I use L26 WM6 PRO Business V7 Videocall, but the last update from T-Kom (UNI_TMO_TMO_DE_20040_200135_11700_GER_Ship) is sometimes better than WM 6 (it´s nearly the same).
For your question, how to update, use the discribtion from T-Kom.
I send the discribtion to as annex.

I use JMWrightcps's rom, and it's pretty good, just a few unresolved issues, since this was one of the first roms.
However, think twice before flashing your device! I assume you know that this invalidates the warranty...? but if you want to do it, go ahead...T-Mobile won't relesase an official RM for the Uni. In fact, they're planning to phase it out.

for who try: i think u need to flash the Rom first before the setup can recognize ur device

Yes. Again, read the first link that he gave you. It's a link to the HardSPL (CID unlock.) But it only works if your SPL is at least 4.0 or higher.
